Bible Note: mbooker: You invite correction and, to be candid and honest, your post does need it! To begin with, you say, "If Jesus' father is God (and he is) that makes him a God. Not the Most High God, but still a God." What you have endorsed by this statement, perhaps unwittingly, is polytheism: belief in existence of more than one god. Explanation: If God is God and Christ is "a God," then we would have two Gods, wouldn't we? Add the Holy Spirit, and presume that He is also "a God," and then we would have three Gods, wouldn't we? This is NOT the orthodox Christian doctrine of the Trinity, or the triune nature of God. This is the false doctrine known as Tritheism. A brief statement of the orthodox doctrine of Triunity (Trinity) is as follows: There is one God in three Persons. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. There is a distinction between the Persons so that the Father is not the Son, the Father is not the Spirit, and the Son is not the Spirit. Each is a Person. The Holy Spirit is not to be envisioned as a mere force or influence. ---- You may find it helpful to read one of the ancient creeds that addresses the doctrine of the Trinity.
