Bible Question: could someone please explain this verse to me properly. " o say again- it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Mathew 19: 24 My step dad who is not a christain asked me what it meant....and I wasn't entirely sure...except that its harder for a rich man to realize his need for God b/c his wealth creates a false sense of self-sufficeny/ security. |
Bible Answer: It was taught "eye of a neddle" mentiond is the gate for the camel, it is a hole in the wale sperated from the gate which people enter. Christ always gave parables based on what people can see around them. It is impossible to the camel to pass that gate "eye of a neddle" if the baggages is still with the camel. But if someone removed that baggages from the camel, the camel can pass that gate "eye of a neddle" because it is really designed for the Camel. That is the parable based. A rich person is like a camel with a lot of baggages attached to him passing that gate "eye of a neddle" if the rich person will not removed that baggage (priorities his wealth instead of God) Mt. 19:21-22. it is impossible to him to pass. If the parable is based on a phisical neddle which is very small, it is almost we are saying that there is no rich man can enter the Kingdom of God. Mt 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. Mt 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Dont worry my friend, it is really impossible to a camel to pass that eye of a neddle, maybe it is more difficult to the rich man to enter. But is God will do that not us. If God want anyone to enter in a neddle eye, He can do it. Mt 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. That things would be very difficult for us, not for our God. God bless, |
