Bible Question: could someone please explain this verse to me properly. " o say again- it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Mathew 19: 24 My step dad who is not a christain asked me what it meant....and I wasn't entirely sure...except that its harder for a rich man to realize his need for God b/c his wealth creates a false sense of self-sufficeny/ security. |
Bible Answer: SIMPLE ANSWER: FIRST READ Matthew 19:16-to-30 so that you understand the "Context of the TEXT!" Then insert your Matt 19:24 into the Concept of the Verses! ONE THOUGHT ABOUT RICHES: "WHATEVER YOU OWN - OWNS YOU!" (Matthew 19:22) But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Thank you! |
