Bible Question: i read this and now i am even more confused than ever. so i look at it that our whole basis of belief is even wrong. we all celebrate good friday and he didnt even die then??!! i too always believed in good friday and knew it never added up but never put much thought into it. now what do i do? |
Bible Answer: In regard to annual celebrations: Galatians 4:8-11 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. Here is what Jesus told us to do to celebrate/remember him: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Praise the Lord! Norm |
