AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 3:11 ¶ "As for me, I baptize you with water because of [your] repentance [that is, because you are willing to change your inner self--your old way of thinking, regret your sin and live a changed life], but He (the Messiah) who is coming after me is mightier [more powerful, more noble] than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to remove [even as His slave]; He will baptize you [who truly repent] with the Holy Spirit and [you who remain unrepentant] with fire (judgment). Subject: Can we be baptized with the Holy Ghost? |
Bible Note: The more is not about salvation or Christ's completed work, it is about the workings of the Spirit within us. There is always more and in Acts they were filled more than twice. You tangibly know when the presence of the Holy Spirit is upon or in you. There is measures of this. As in Acts when the others thought they were drunk, and when they say don't be drunk with wine but be filled with the HOly Spirit. Why do you think they compared the two. Because there is a filling of the Holy Spirit that resembles being drunk. They are not drunk as you suppose. I was saved in 1988 after being a New Age follower and dabbled in drugs in the 70's. The difference between being filled with the Holy Spirit and filled with drugs or wine is night and day. I have been drunk (filled) with the Holy Spirit and it is a refreshing, revitalizing, renewing, restoring, healing experience. The other is a counterfiet. Anyother spirit is counterfiet, I have experienced Satan's demons and they induce fear, and every other negative feeling. God's Spirit is PURE and induces love, joy, peace... there is NO comparison... forgive me if I spelled that word wrong. Thank you for being a delight to the Lord. You are a delight and He delights in you. thank you for listening. Nancy Gorman |
