Subject: How do you "share the Gospel?" |
Bible Note: Hi Asis, You misunderstood my position on John 3:6 for I do not go with the traditional capitalization of the first Spirit, but rather I have penciled in my copy, "that which is born of the spirit is spirit." So I would not agree with Bullinger on that one. The book of Bullinger's that you spoke of is where I accepted his idea of differentiation of the Giver and the gift. It was the book that gave me permission to my mind to consider openly a personal interpretation of capitalization of "pneuma hagion". I would go on and make my own choices but with a committment to consistency. 1) When I capitalize "walk by the Spirit" for Galatians 5:16 I capitalize Spirit because it speaks of Deity. So I would not agree with your suggestion that it speaks of the new nature. I do see the new nature in Galatians 6:1 for those who are spiritual; for those who restore in a spirit of gentleness. Compare that with 1 Corinthians 7:40 and consider whether Paul thought that he had the Spirit or spirit of God. 2) 1 John 4:2 is a verse that I compare with Matthew 12:28 and Luke 11:20.
