Bible Note: Ken, you persist in describing people as being innocent and blameless and somehow you believe that God's love overlooks their natural sinful condition. This is not Biblical. You asked, "What else can a LOViNG God require of an innocent people?" God's Word tells us "Without the shedding of blood there is NO forgiveness" Heb 9:22. That blood has been shed, for the forgiveness of ALL sin - but only those who choose to accept, to trust HIS payment for THEIR sin are forgiven. Prior to Christ's death and resurrection, people were declared "righteous" on the basis of their faith in God. See Hebrews 11 - men were approved on the basis of their faith. Just as in the days before Jesus, there is nothing we can DO to earn God's favor. God loves us just the way we are, sin and all. That's the greatest news - How those who have never been exposed to the New Testament Gospel comprehend God or come to know Him in a way that God desires is beyond my scope and something that I do not want to even speculate upon. God's Word says the righteous will LIVE by faith; only God can declare someone to be innocent or without fault. And this is not "accomplished" it is imputed on the accomplishment of Jesus. Men are held accountable for what they can know. You believe something and respond to that belief. It is the heart that God sees. "for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." Romans 10:10 I trust Him with mine as well as the hearts of those in the deepest jungle. "How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!" Rom 10:13-15 But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? Indeed they have; "THEIR VOICE HAS GONE OUT INTO ALL THE EARTH, AND THEIR WORDS TO THE ENDS OF THE WORLD." Romans 10:18 Again, Paul reminds us "that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse." Romans 1:19-20 How God imputes HIS righteousness remains a mystery, but it a work of God alone, given freely on the basis of one's FAITH, not on the basis of innocence or blamelessness . . . and remember creation does not give hope - only God does! (Psalm 62:5) It is time to end our conversation. The nature of our dialoge has propmted this thread to be restricted. I pray that the Lord will continue to reveal Himself through His Word to us both.
