Subject: WAS JESUS FORSAKEN BY HIS FATHER? |
Bible Note: Searcher Jesus is speaking out, "My God My God why have you forsaken me?" Let's look at it from your line of thinking. Your saying Jesus is asking a question and one that has an element of surprise. Therefore we are faced with a problem why would an all knowing Jesus ask this question? More pointedly why would Jesus be questioning God? If your theory is true Jesus had to know the answer and then it would have been an empty question. Also why would he word it in such a way to make it appear that He was surprised by it, when Jesus had read about it in Psalm 22? The only logical answer is Jesus wasn’t questioning God at all (which He would never do), but rather as I have stated repeatedly He was pointing those around him to the scripture that foretold this very event.
