Subject: Who is Jesus? |
Bible Note: Mmmm, I think I've met some of those "sufferers." I have a hearty dislike of the rude people. Not just the evangelizing but insisting every little Christian thing be to their own liking and none other. Ick. There is so much JOY to be had in other people's enjoyment! (does that sound nuts?) I'm afraid that when I talk I say rude things. I ask questions because I want to understand and for some reason it comes across as far more agressive than I am. So I take the St. Francis of Assisi approach. 'Preach the gospel always. When necessary - Use words!' What do you do when you hit a complete roadblock? For instance, my cousin has no faith. NONE. She is a good person and I love her dearly. I hate to see her in such pain without God. The comfort only He can give! She things all faith is stupidity. She thinks I'm insane for going to church, spend too much time reading the bible, have too many bibles yadda yadda yadda. We have a good rapport. However, when I bring up God she goes deaf. I pray for her daily. When she stays over, I put a bible under her bed. She once told me she thought God hated her because she'd never been baptised. I said so let me baptise you. She responded with -you're not a priest. So? We went to a Greek Orthodox baptism where they rubbed my step sister's baby down with olive oil. I asked my cousin, doesn't that look great? Come on! You take a turn! no go. Hints, suggestions, ANYTHING?? Lisa |
