Subject: Who is Jesus? |
Bible Note: Ah ha. I was wondering where the burr under your saddle came from, Kalos. Your words to me in another thread were rather out of the blue. Are you insinuating that I've never learned? Shame on you. KJV Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. All the nay sayers have now driven Ross away. How can we show him the truth? I'm saddened by this. I would much rather he be here where people like Ed, Tim and Joe might get through to him. As far as your statement about liberal humanists and getting back to the Bible - I think you need to explain. Our many Christian denominations can't agree on THE Bible. So many translations, so many interpretations. What would you have done? If we didn't have a very human reaction to God's Word then we would be nothing. Would you rather we return to stoning adulterers to death? Kalos, the whole purpose of an internet web board is for people to voice their opinions on a subject. Within the Bible, Abraham marries his half sister and becomes the father of an entire race. Later, Moses tells the Hebrews NOT to marry half sisters as it is displeasing to God. Well, if displeasing God gets us an entire nation - BRING IT ON! I tease. I'm not one to marry family. (Gross!) But I must agree with you that few folks these days actually READ the bible. I mean cover to cover read it. Most rely on internet bible search or concordance where they can plug in one word and find a miriad of primarily SINGLE lines about that word. How can one understand anything based on one sentence? As for me, I must always state "I think" "I feel" and/or "In my opinion" because I'm not always right right and I don't want to seem ham handed. I want to leave the door open for folks to tell me how THEY feel about a verse or a chapter or anything for that matter. I'd say Hugs, but you don't like my touchy-feelyness! Lisa |
