Subject: Why did Jesus say "never again?" |
Bible Note: Hello Taleb, I don’t see the footprint of and great tribulation that happened 2000 years ago by any stretch of the imagination. If you are talking about the time when SPQR besieged Jerusalem it doesn’t fit the scenario because when the great tribulation is over it will mark the end of the times of the Genitals. The siege on Jerusalem, is for all practical, the scattering of the Jews, a time known as the Diaspora and they didn't return until 1948, so there was no covenant made at that time and that is without a doubt obvious. In order for the Jews to make a covenant with the one we call the Antichrist they must occupy the Holy City; this didn’t happen until the seven-day war. Paul tell us of an event that never happened when the Legions of Titus invaded Israel because no one tried to set them selves up to be worshiped. 2 Thes. 2:1-4 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. The verses mentioned will be in the future and they haven’t happened as yet, as Paul describes the events. The period that Daniel describes as the seventieth week will not begin until the Jews sign covenant of protection. Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Israel will be content with their covenant of deception for 3 ½ years and then the deceiver who made the pact with them will turn on them to destroy them and when he does those in Jerusalem will only have moments to make it out of the city to a place of safety. It will be worse then it was during Hitler’s reign of terror. Those that aren’t prepared for this onslaught of the adversary will be facing the worst persecutions the world has ever seen. Don’t be deceived that it has happened already or you won’t be ready! Isaiah describes this same condition that Daniel spoke of along with Jesus and Paul and lastly John in Revelation. Isaiah 28:15-18 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: 16Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 17Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. 18And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Rev. 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. The short time is actually measured in other places as 3 ½ years or the last half of Daniel’s seventieth week. CDBJ |
