Bible Note: Dear Tar, in looking at my previous post I must say it sounds abrupt. My apologies. I agree with everything you say in your post. As I understand it we worship/rest on Sunday because it is the day that Jesus was raised from the dead. As to the law of the Sabbath, I do believe it was part of the feasts given to the nation of Israel. I believe that there are parts of the bible that speak to the nation of Israel and parts that speak to the church. When I read it I have to keep that in mind. So in saying that I don't keep the Sabbath. I believe Paul says somewhere not to argue over days. I believe I am to honor Christ everyday of my life. Sunday is a day that I gather with a congregation of believers at a church to worship Him collectively. I believe it was Paul who commanded us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together but I don't think he said which day to chose. I know that in our business world today many christians have to work on Sunday so they rest another day because they have to feed their families. One thing that does grieve me though is so many young parents have their children in athletics on Sunday mornings. Many ball teams practice on Sunday mornings. Many church members go to the pro games on Sundays. Its all pretty confusing to me. Also, Welcome to the Forum. Blessings - Val |
