AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 18:6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble and sin [by leading him away from My teaching], it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone [as large as one turned by a donkey] hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. Bible Question:
In Matthew 16 Jesus tells us to avoid the appearance of evil. Is this advice for all Christians, mature Christians or just for Christian leaders? In particular, should 2 new church members be baptised if they are engaged and living together? |
Bible Answer: Lillian, Why would any Christian at any stage want to even appear evil, let alone act evil? We should all avoid the appearance of evil and the doing of evil in order not to give scandal and do harm to the Gospel that we preach. Matt 18:6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. What verse are you referring to in Matt 16? I could not find it. Emmaus |
