Bible Question:
I have two questions about Daniel Chapter 5. First, regarding the handwriting on the wall; what is the significance of the word MENE,MENE being said twice? Secondly, I am confused about whether Danile was able to interperet what was said because it was a language he had studied and the others had not, or if it was written in some divine language and God gave him the interperetation. Can anyone help with these two questions? Chusarcik |
Bible Answer: Daniel was a scholar. The writing was a mishmosh of ancient Hebrew and Arabic of the day. Abraham was from these people, where our soldiers are standing today. The magicians were looking elsewhere for their answers, and Satan deceived them. God had a purpose, and Daniel was the primary resource He would use for this. It is interesting to notice now that the last Republican Guard, we just wiped out was called "the Nebuchadnezzar Brigade"...Nebuchadnezzar...was pointedly told to pay attention twice by God...Heed Heed....turn from you ways, or you shall be on the hot end of My justice...they had taken Jews into captivity, and treated them horrifically. There was a lesson learned from this message that continues to this day. There are still 79 Jews living in Baghdad today, who are direct descendant from these people of the time of Daniel...amazing isn't it? They can trace their history back to this time. Even Saddam Hussein is afraid of these people and they live under his protection. It was a dilly lesson, and one that was not forgotten to this day. The message here is when God speaks, it doesn't matter who tells you, you will know the source of the message. Listen, and apply it to your life immediately. Don't fuss about language, or anything else...just do it. God usually only speaks to us once...if we ignore Him, He will allow our hearts to be hardened and will move on to the next soft heart. Never worry about such things, as why? Who cares? Put it into context and realize the big picture. Daniel was the only one who could translate this message, because it was the will of God Almighty.
