Bible Note: Ateo I noticed in this response to Aspilos on Dan 7:7 you have concluded the fourth beast to be the Seleucid kingdom that rose after Alexander’s death. However that empire never took the description on that you want to give it. It wasn’t iron like and dreadful, terrifying and extremely strong. Plus if you will go over to Dan 8:22 you will see the four generals are discussed and here they are portrayed as never attaining the power of Alexander. Alexander and his four generals are talked about in Dan 7:7, but there arose in verse 8 another beast that could only be Rome, dreadful, terrifying, and extremely strong that trampled down the remainder (what was left of Alexander’s empire) with it feet. This has to be when Rome swept through the Grecian Empire including the middle East and the defeat of Ptolemyies in Egypt (you surely remember Mark Anthony and Cleopatra) EdB |
