Bible Question (short): What is the meaning of this verse?

Question (full): Greetings Forum members! I am having a difficult time understanding this passage. This verse is repeated three times in the Song of Solomon (see 3:5 and 8:4), so I figure it must be important! :)

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word 'adjure' means "to command solemnly under or as if under oath or penalty of a curse (or) to urge or advise earnestly."

My questions are:
1. Who are the "daughters of Jerusalem?" Is this Israel?
2. How does word usage influence the meaning of this verse? Consider how the word "pleases" is used: don't arouse my love until it has the capacity to please or don't arouse my love until it wants to be pleased.)
3. Is "my love" referencing an a separate individual or is it the emotion, belonging to the speaker? ("she" NASB vs "it" in the AMP)
4. What is the meaning of this command?
5. Any insights into how this verse might be applied to us as believers?

Thanks to all who are willing to tackle these!
