Subject: Who is the beloved? |
Bible Note: Greetings again Searcher, I believe that we would be wise to not let our physical understanding of intimacy rule in our appreciation for this passage. Call me a hopeful romantic! But I believe that God gave us marriage, families and the intimacy of relationship to give us a hint of what He longs to have with us. Perhaps the nation of Israel was never this close, but I believe that the expression of love in the Song of Solomon expresses the desire that God has for HIS beloved! (And I suspect that that's you and me too!) Blessings, mommapbs |
