Subject: When is abortion right? |
Bible Note: CDBJ, I wonder whether comparing the creation of Adam and his becoming a living soul after being infused with the breath of life to the incubation of the human fetus in the womb forms any basis upon which to say at what point in the life cycle the developing fetus becomes a human being. Is it at the time of conception or is it later, perhaps at birth? Life is present from the moment of conception onward. Life means living. Abortion, at whatever stage, means killing. Deliberate killing. Another word for that act is murder. The deliberate act of taking a human life while it is within the mother's womb or when the child is a hundred days old or grows to become a hundred years old -- the willful taking of a human life is heinous. Abortion is particularly horrid because it is performed upon the utterly defenseless. Some 40 million pre-natal lives have been snuffed out in America by abortion that is perfectly legal. --Hank |
