Bible Question:
Hi ya, I'm new here, but I have a question please. I spend a lot of time at MTV.com, "fight for your rights" forum. I try to offer some alternative responses to the usual atheistic views. Yes quite challenging but I feel it's a worthy effort. One of the questions asked is: "What did Jesus look like?" It seems I remember studies show that Jesus was of a fairly dark complexion but looked basically very average. Please let me know if you have any scriptural references regarding Jesus' physical appearance or any other studies done regarding this question. Thank you for your help. V |
Bible Answer: I think the person who asked this question may be a member of an ethnic minority. The truth is the Bible doesn't give much more description of Jesus than to say that he was a Jewish male. Of course, I usually respond to questions like the one you got by pointing out that it doesn't matter to me whether Jesus was black or white or blue with a third nostril. I would be just as happy to boast in him as my Savior if he was as black as night. If Jesus was indeed a dark-complected Jew, then a dark-complected Jew died for my sins. Hope this helps some. --Joe! |
