Subject: Alleged changes in the NKJV |
Bible Note: Bruce You keep saying the least amount of changes. "You will find repeatedly that the majority of Scholars and many Ministries endorse the, "Authorized King James", because of it having the least amount of changes in it." My question is compared to what? To the other Translations? The differences or changes as you call them is based not on the translator adding or subtracting but found differences in the manuscripts. KJV translators used a manuscript called the Textus Receptus however since then many manuscripts have been found. Many much older and thus thought to be more reliable than the Textus Receptus. What you see in the "modern translations" is the differences in the those manuscripts, not translators additions and deletions. Your quote also says a majority of scholars…, again this simply is not true. Most scholars actually favor the collection of Manuscripts that are called the Majority Text and which is used for the basis of the many of the “Modern translations” EdB |
