Bible Question:
dear Taleb, what about the ten commandments, the Sabbath, Passover, etc... |
Bible Answer: Again, I refer you to the Book of Hebrews. It doesn't take long. I suggest you read it outloud to yourself and pay particular attention to what the author says about REPLACING the old with the new. Jesus annulled the Levitical priesthood AND the law it served because of its weakness AND uselessness, for the law brought nothing to perfection. BUT a BETTER HOPE has supervended, and through IT we draw near to God." (Hebrews 7:18-19) Hebrews 8:8-9 "If that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no place for a second one. BUT GOD, finding fault with them ..." As a P.S., I will quote from Galatians (another great book that points out our freedom FROM the old). Gal. 3:19--"What is the relevance of the law, in such cases? It was given in view of trangressions and promulgated by angels, at the hands of a mediator; it WAS TO BE VALID ONLY UNTIL that descendant or offspring came to whom the promise had been given." Jesus Christ, the risen and coming again Son of God IS THAT descendant or offspring promised. Blessings, Taleb |
