Subject: We have seen Jesus... |
Bible Note: Hi Shythiyl, In reading this thread, the following verses come to mind: 1 Cor 12:7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 1 Cor 12:27 Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it. And I am actually thinking of the whole section of scripture here. As Christ's body, Jesus shows Himself though us to each other, by the abilities the Spirit gives to each of us to minister to each other. (of course the cessationist would say otherwise) Is 53:1 Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? John 21:1 After these things Jesus manifested Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and He manifested Himself in this way. John 21:2 Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. John 21:3 Simon Peter *said to them, "I am going fishing." They *said to him, "We will also come with you." They went out and got into the boat; and that night they caught nothing. John 21:4 But when the day was now breaking, Jesus stood on the beach; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. John 21:5 So Jesus *said to them, "Children, you do not have any fish, do you?" They answered Him, "No." John 21:6 And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat and you will find a catch." So they cast, and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish. John 21:7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved *said to Peter, "It is the Lord." This is an interesting passage to me in that the way Jesus chose to manifest Himself to His disciples was by enabling them to do works that they had been unable to do by themselves. 2 Cor 3:2 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 2 Cor 3:3 being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. The Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ is just that: the revealing of Jesus in the written Word. These are some thoughts that come to mind. Great question! Love in Christ, Mark |
