Bible Question: I know the Bibles says to tithe. If your wages are cut and you can't make ends meet does that me I am cheating God and I wont' be saved? |
Bible Answer: (Matt.6:21 "Were you treasure is,there will your heart be also.")I beleive that when God spoke in (Matt.22:21 "Render unto Caesar things which are Caesar's and unto God the things that are God's) That he was speaking of us giving God our hearts. And according to Matt.6:21 in order to do so, that part of this is deals with money.(Mal.3:8 also states that we can rob God in not just our tithes but our offerings also.)The Bible states that yes,you are cheating God if you don't give your tithes and your offerings...However,concerning the being saved part of your question.(Rom.3:11 "There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.") (Rom.3:12 "They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable, there is none that doeth good,no,not one.")(Mark 10:18 "And Jesus said unto him,Why callest though me good? There is none good but one, that is, God.")You cannot earn your way to heaven by doing good. Such as tithing and giving to the poor, or even doing miricles in his name. And if we think we are getting to heaven because of our works, then we have become self righteous. (Prov.14:32 says that the righteous have hope in their death) (Rom.8:24 says that we are saved by hope.) In the end we are all still saved by faith in grace, because all will have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God on judgment day. |
