Subject: when do I spake in tounges |
Bible Note: I've never understood why all born-again believers whole-heartedly acknowledge the Fruit of the Spirit, which is His nature, is still available today, but His gifts (power) are not. How can we only accept part of Him? And how do we know there are no living apostles? God tells us in Eph. 4:11-13 that He gave them to us, along with 4 other ministries, and He tells us why He gave them: "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:" Is the Body of Christ mature or unified in the faith? I don't think so. And if we say there are no living apostles, then what about prophets, evangelists, teachers, or pastors? Where do we draw the line? |
