Subject: Am I wrong to think this? |
Bible Note: Greetings Josh, I appreciate the honesty and hart felt expression in your answer and I use to feel the same way you do until God pointed a few things out to me from His Word. There are several issues that most people overlook when it comes to being acceptable in God’s sight, that are pointed out in Scripture. Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. In reading these four verses there are the issues of our righteousness, repentance, the Fathers will, and what is being call, born again and that isn’t even considering what it says in Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; The all, in this verse, take in you and me and the rest of the world. Truth be known it would appear that we are all in big trouble especially when one considers what it says in the first part of Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; Now this word death means separation from God, and that’s for all eternity. That’s the bad news, now here come the good news! The fact that God loves us, and that fact that we a more or less helpless, as far as God is concerned, caused God to devise a plan that involved Him and His great love. God cannot excuse sin in any way if He did it would be against His Holy nature, He can’t just can’t look the other way! God said that sin requires death, as a penalty, and that’s a price that we can’t pay and still be remain with Him in His kingdom. God, as the judge, knew we were in big trouble so He said that He would pay the high price, for sin, that His Holiness demanded. The only problem is that God can’t die, so He decided to become a man and take what we deserve, and that’s where Jesus comes into the picture. The good news isn’t that we love God but that God loved us first. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Just know this, intellectually, isn’t enough, God wants us to trust in what His Son did for us and depend on Jesus for our eternal life. If we will completely trust in the work that God did for us through the person of His Son Jesus, God the Father says that He will give us eternal life as a FREE gift and God can’t lie, you can count on it! Here is the rest of Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT OF GOD is eternal life THROUGH JESUS CHRIST our Lord. There were several, in Jesus day that wanted to know what they could do as far as works, notice what Jesus told them. John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. The following verses are what I would consider some of the most precious in the whole Bible! 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Then there is the verse that all have heard. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Well Josh God made the promises and He says the eternal life is in the person of His Son so you see the key to getting into heaven is all in trusting in God’s Son Jesus, do you believe what God is telling you in His word. John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. You see Josh, the one that is going to judge us, God, is none other then Jesus Himself. He will either be your judge or your Savior. John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: What a great Christmas present God has given us in the person of His Son. Have A Marry Christmas and tell God that you are going to put all of your faith and hope in His Son Jesus for your eternal life! CDBJ |
