Bible Question: So you say there is no anointung or no evidence of a anointing is God and the anointing not one and the same Jesus the Christ Christ meaning anointed how could any one be a man or women of God without the anointing how can any have the spirit of God inside without an anointing. What would break and destroy the yoke. I have not ever heard of God sending someone to do a job and not anointing them even the Kings where first anointed by the priest both anointed to be and then anointed as . If his spirit wasn't the anointing than please tell me what it was because there are alot of spirits did he want that spirit of fear that elijah had when he ran from Jezebiel and hid up under the Juniper tree please help me to understand i just want an understanding? |
Bible Answer: Word study ... Spirit (Ruwach), the same word used in verse 15 and 16. Elisha asked for a double portion as an inheritance, much like the eldest son would receive. It could be the other 50 prophets would only get a single portion. There is no anointing in this passage. Elisha was aleady anointed (mashach) by God's command (1 Ki 19:16). He wasn't asking to be anointed again. Notice they are two different unrelated words. S |
