Subject: Homosexuality and Christianity? |
Bible Note: Greetings Gpaulturner! It would help if you would provide scripture references in your points! :-) Ruth 1:14 does say that Ruth "cleaved" to Naomi! However, the word 'dabaq' does not ever mean in Scripture 'to have sex with'. It is used 54 times in the Old Testament. It always means 'to stay with' or 'to stay beside'. In fact, the word is used four times in Ruth (1:14, 2:8, 21, and 23). Each time it simply means 'to stay with'. Concerning David and Jonathan, 1 Sam. 18:4 says that Jonathan stripped off certain items of clothing and equipment and gave them to David. However, it never says that he stripped naked and it definitely never says that David and Jonathan had sex. Scripture is quite clear that any homosexual sex is a sin!
