Bible Question: Were there any other people in the beginning besides Cain, Adam, and Eve? Of course, I am omitting the slain Abel. Genesis mentions that whoever slays Cain will reap the Lord's vengeance sevenfold. But it doesn't say anything about anyone else being around to slay him. Am I missing something? |
Bible Answer: Gen 4:17 Cain had relations with his wife and she conceived, and gave birth to Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city Enoch, after the name of his son. Gen 4:18 Now to Enoch was born Irad, and Irad became the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael became the father of Methushael, and Methushael became the father of Lamech. We may believe one of two things about the other people. That they were the un-named sisters and other brothers of Cain. That when God created humankind that there where more that one set of our first parents. The Bible doesn't give us their names it just infers that there were other people over in the land of Nod where Cain found his wife. Rainbow Maker |
