Bible Question: Why did God permit Abram to lie? |
Bible Answer: God permits us to do a lot of things we should not do. That does not mean He approves. He made us with a free will and we are imperfect, so we sin. Whenever Abram or any of the saints of old did wrong things, they suffered the consequences and still the Lord delivered them. I'm sorry but I can't find the chapter and verse tonight, but the Scripture says "Many are the trials of the righteous, but the Lord delivers us out of them all." Abraham was not perfect. However, a person does not have to be perfect to be considered righteous in God's eyes, because it also says that "Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. No man is perfect and no man never sins or does wrong or always does things perfectly. However Abraham believed God and God took care of His friend. |
