Subject: Genesis 3:1-7 |
Bible Note: Greetings Paul! Let's use an overblown example. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life." This verse is written in a language. Language has rules. Suppose Bill Branham, or someone like him, came and said that God showed that that this verse really means that God hates the world. I don't have to pray about it. I don't have to wonder. John 3:16 plainly says that God loves the world. Gen. 3 says that Eve ate the fruit of the tree. Ate means 'to eat.' Fruit means 'fruit.' Tree means 'tree.' There isn't anything in the passage to indicate that it is anything other than an historical narrative. Therefore, we can know what God says about this, with Bill Branham giving us a secret interpretation. This is all we are saying Paul. Let Scripture speak for itself. We don't need someone who claims to have some secret intepretation that no one else has ever seen. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
