AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 4:7 "If you do well [believing Me and doing what is acceptable and pleasing to Me], will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well [but ignore My instruction], sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you [to overpower you], but you must master it." |

Bible Note: Joe! "...Unregenerate people sin because they desire to sin. They can decide in what ways they are going to sin, and even refrain from some sins for sinful reasons. What they are morally incapable of doing is pleasing God. They do not want to do it, and they are incapable, apart from the Spirit's work, of wanting to do it..."?? How does one 'refrain from sin for sinful reasons'? This is interesting. Do you mean that even when unregenerate man does 'good', it is really bad? It is all bad. Your other statement that "what they are morally incabable of doing is pleasing to God." I've studied this sentence and tried my very best to make sense of it. What is God pleased with? That the unregenerate are morally incapable of doing good? Help me out please. Samanatha Hear the Gospel, Believe it, Confess it, Repent and aline with it, Be baptized into it. - Acts 22:16 |
