881 | why did paul speak about perfection? | Phil 3:1 | CDBJ | 235569
Greetings Charlie from another Charlie on the forum. The chapter and verse that you used as a reference makes answering your question a little hard to do and keep the basic question in context. Philippians 3:1 (NKJV) 1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe. Could you give us the verse that uses the word “perfection” in it that was used by Paul? More info is needed, enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

882 | Does the Lord still heal people today? | Phil 3:10 | CDBJ | 138653
Hi Chaser and welcome to the forum, There should be no doubt in any ones mind that the Lord can do anything that He sees fit, that is in compliance with His master plan, be it healing or anything else for that matter! The one thing that people should realize is that any healing that takes place in these bodies, that we reside in temporally, isn’t going to last like the healing that God has provided for our souls through His precious Son; that healing last forever! I have heard of many believers being healed of one thing or another but according to my recollection they all died sooner or later of one thing or another; some sooner then others. It’s kind of like curing someone of a chest cold while they have the bubonic plague. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Have a great day, CDBJ |

883 | Fasting | Colossians | CDBJ | 174375
Greetings corin, It seems as though you might have gotten some bad information from someone because you suggest that one might be able to literally bribe God and get him to respond by our doing something advantageous. The last part of your question; “What shall we do while fasting in order to get the best result from God?” The Christian way of life is strictly one of grace; we can’t earn or deserve anything from God! Col. 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Do you understand God’s plan and his mercy and grace in salvation? Have a great day, CDBJ |

884 | Fasting | Colossians | CDBJ | 174379
Have you come to the place yet in your life where you are sure that you know God’s plan for you to be in heaven. Spending eternity in the presence of the Lord God demands certain things to have changed in our life before this is possible, are you sure they are accomplished yet in yours? Have a great day, CDBJ |

885 | Is Matthew 24:14 almost fulfilled yet? | Col 1:23 | CDBJ | 99103
Hi Tommys, I would say that the answer to your question is, that it won’t occur until just before God pours out his wrath on the earth. Mankind will be given the chance to make a decision for Christ or the antichrist. Consider the following, Rev. 14:6-7 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. The fountains of waters is interesting here, because that’s how God destroyed the earth the first time and it’s a warning that God is about to destroy the earth again, so you better make the right decision mankind! Have a great day, CDBJ |

886 | Will we know loved ones in heaven? | 1 Thess 4:13 | CDBJ | 158433
Hi DGB454 and welcome to the forum, I was asked the question, in a Bible study a while back; “Will we notice if there are family members missing in heaven.” My answer was, there won’t be any family members missing in heaven because everyone that will be there will be our eternal family. 2 Cor. 4:18 (B) for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Have a great day, CDBJ |

887 | Believers come with Him, How rise first? | 1 Thess 4:14 | CDBJ | 36044
Tell me where their body is while they are with the Lord and I think that you will answer your own question. 1 Cor. 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. Our position right now is in Christ, even though we don't see Him. When we die then it will see Him face to face. Man has a body, soul and spirit. Our bodies are sinful now but even this Christ will change when we acquire our new bodies at the rapture. |

888 | Pre, post, or mid tribulation rapture? | 1 Thess 4:17 | CDBJ | 166028
Hi Huron, You might want to pick up a book called, "The Rapture Question Answered" By Robert Van Kampen. ISBN 0-8007-5631-2 It is neither pre, post, or mid trib but pre wrath! I think this is the most accurate of all the positions. Psalm 119:160 The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting. Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you. 2 Thes. 2:3 (A) Let no one in any way deceive you, Have a great day, CDBJ |

889 | What is the differance? | 1 Thess 4:17 | CDBJ | 188644
Hi M.Royal, The tribulation, as it were, is satanic vengeance against God people. Luke 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. The Lord will remove His loved ones and as soon as He does He will pour out His wrath on the one left that have refused His grace message of the gospel. The day of Christ and the day of the lord are two different events but both taking place on the same day, once we are removed up to safety. God is literally going to hammer those that are responsible for making our lives miserable in the last days. Those believers that endure the worst persecution that God’s people have ever endured since will be delivered, i.e. saved from the hideous working of Satan’s man the antichrist. Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 2 Thes. 2:1-5 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? Speaking of Jesus and when He comes for His own. 2 Thes. 2:9-12 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. The big problem is that believers “are being deceived” into thinking that they won’t have to endure any persecution so as a result they won’t be ready for what’s going to befall them. But will pour out His wrath on the tormentors and it will be on the very same day that Jesus come to be glorified in His elect. 2 Thes. 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; Just like it was the day Noah was put safely in the arc and just like “the day” that lot left Sodom. 2 Thes. 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 890 | Why would he leave his servants? | 1 Thess 4:17 | CDBJ | 188685
Greetings M.Royal, Good question: The end times of the gentiles and the return to Israel all takes place in the 7th chapter of Revelation. Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. The 144,000 is the main body of repopulating force the God will use when His grafts back in the natural branches. The 144000 are sealed “against God’s wrath” just before the angels release their destructive powers on the earth. This repopulating group will start the population process along with a small remnant in the days following the cleansing acts of God. Rev. 7:2-4 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. I think a lot of people get confused while reading the book of Revelation because it’s “not written as a progressive” book. There are lists epics mentioned, Example: Topics A, B, C, D, and E, then it may go back and explain the details of A and B at length and then move to C and how E fits or ties in with A and B. Rev. 12:6 And the woman (Israel) fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. Rev. 12:14 And to the woman (Israel) were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, (3 ½ years) from the face of the serpent. 891 | Where in the Bible do they get the word | 2 Thessalonians | CDBJ | 18620
The word rapture came down to us from a translation called the Vulgate. It is not a word that is in our English translations. The concept of the rapture is discussed in many different words; we just grouped all of them together and coined the word rapture, as a catchall word to cover them all. The closest that the word rapture comes to in the Greek language of the New Testament, is the word EPISUNAGOGE, it is a compound word EPI, meaning out and SUNAGOGE, a gathering, as an assemble. The word synagogue as used by the Jews is actually a derivative from the later, as a gathering of people. Paul expresses this in II Thessalonians 2:1 where he says: Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, |

892 | will the church see the antichrist reign | 2 Thess 2:3 | CDBJ | 48418
The first time that the body of Christ will know who the Antichrist is will be when he makes a covenant with Israel. He is also referred to as the little horn in Daniel. Daniel 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. Daniel 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; It is also called the time of Jacob's trouble. Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. Isaiah calls this time of the covenant with the Antichrist a covenant with death. Isaiah 28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: The answer to your question is YES the church will see the Antichrist; the problem is that most are being deceived into thinking that we will be removed before this happens and if that were the case why would both Christ and Paul give us a warning? Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; This lawless one won't actually reveal who he is until after 42 Mo. or three and a half years after he makes the covenant, then he will reveal who he really is and will actually demand the worship of the world. Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) The question was put to Jesus by the disciples as to what the signs would be before Christ returned and the end of the age. Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? To get a fuller understanding of how it all ties together you might want to pick up a book called, The Sign, by Robert Van Kampen. |

894 | Why do we teach otherwise? | 2 Thess 2:3 | CDBJ | 187793
Hi MR What “most believers” don’t realize is that the word “coming”, with reference to Christ and the rapture, isn’t a verb, which designates action. The Koine Greek word is “PAROUSIA”, it’s actually a noun describing an event and the length of time involved starts at the moment that Jesus appears in the clouds and ends when He establishes His earthly kingdom. Just as the first advent of Christ covered a total of aprox. 33 years so the second advent of Jesus will be a period of time with different epochs of doctrinal being fulfilled within that time frame. The point in time that most believers know as the rapture just get it all started. 2 Thes. 2:9 Even him, whose coming (PAROUSIA) is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. You might want to pick up a book called, “The Sign”, (ISBN 1-58134-067-2) It is the most informative book that I’ve ever read on eschatology and it’s so easy that even I can understand it. 896 | is it wrong to wear fine clothing | 1 Tim 2:9 | CDBJ | 119132
Hi shadow thorn, Wecome to the forum. I think that a believer should be an exquisite dresser; we are ambassadors for Christ and should be the best representatives possible. 2 Cor. 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. Col. 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. If one ties this together with the following it’s hard to miss the way I see it. Romans 14:23 (B) for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Dress as unto the Lord and you are on the right track, CDBJ |

897 | Should the church promte make up? | 1 Tim 2:9 | CDBJ | 194203
Greetings, What is it that makes a person “look holy”? I personally think that someone is opening up a whole new can of worms! I have been in churches where there is such a dearth of so called make-up that the female constituents looked like they had an encounter with Count Dracula rather then with the Lord. Then on the other hand there are the ones that put on the war pain so thick that they look like something that just escaped from Ringling Brothers Circus. Why can’t things just be done in moderation? Has the old word attractive completely vanished from our vocabulary? 1 Tim. 2:9 (NASB) Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments; My two cents worth, CDBJ |

898 | What does 1 Timothy 3 v 4 mean? | 1 Tim 3:4 | CDBJ | 159104
Hi Diomede, The verse is pretty much self explanatory. Can anyone actually prove that their children are believers? It surly is hopeful thinking that all of our children would be believers but only the Lord actually knows. 1 Tim. 3:4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; The English word “subjection” comes to us from the Koine Greek word “hupotage” which means that the father is the boss and the family is subordinate. i.e. He is well in control. The last word in the verse “gravity” is from the word, “semnotes” which means that dad is cranking out the Bible doctrine to the family on a regular basis and everybody seem to be taking it in, with out bucking the tiger, as it were. Have a great day, CDBJ |

899 | how should overseers children act? | 1 Tim 3:4 | CDBJ | 159115
At what point in time are you not responsible for you’re off springs actions? What is the age of accountability where you live? 1 Tim. 3:4 (KJV) A One that ruleth well his own house Emphasis on, “his own house” while under the authority of!! My youngest “kid”, is thirty five and he has his own home and three kids. He is an adult and not under my jurisdiction Are you so naïve as to think that a bishop would be responsible for the way his “adult” off spring acts once they leave the nest? When my children come home to visit and they are in my home, they still respect the rules that I have in my house, because pop is still the head roster! How can I say it any plainer? It’s ludicrous to think that a bishop would be responsible for adults out from under his control! CDBJ |

900 | Grateful for the forum | 1 Tim 3:4 | CDBJ | 159167
Hello Diomede, from the grumpy old man! Please forgive me, I just gave four quarts of blood and then found out they are going to use it to feed mentally deficient mosquitoes and hyper active leaches! Not really. Some times I just put my mouth in gear before my brain is in motion. When I first started reading the Bible every one was very nice and helpful to me so I figured that there must be a huge deficiency of nasty people that study the Bible and I am trying to fill up the gap. Again, please excuse bad manors in my previous post and I promise I will do better the next time. James 3:2 [2] For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. I sure am glad that my salvation is a work of God and what He did for me through His Son Jesus because if even the smallest part salvation depended on me, I’d botch it up! Have a great day, CDBJ |
