82 | What does "purge me with hyssop mean? | Ps 51:7 | serenetime | 26830
songnheart, I would like to help in shedding some light on the interpretation of this scripture. To me when he says "Purge me" there's such a earnest need in his heart for complete cleansing. It's like don't just sprinkle, but saturate me. Every nook and cranny. There is such a longing to erase this sin, he feels dirty. Wants to feel the closeness to God and his love because somehow he feels separated, but God is always there.Such a sorrow that he's hurt God. "Purge me", make haste. The sooner the better. Purge me in the original Hebrew is #2398 is chata meaning a primitive root, properly to miss, hence to sin, by inference, to forfeit, lack, expiate, repent, lead astray, condemn. KJV, Bare the blame, commit sin by fault. Hyssop in the hebrew is ezob. It was used for sprinkling in some of the sacrifices and purifications of the Jews. In consequence of it's detergent qualities and how well it cleanses. Since on the stalk of hyssop the sponge of hyssop vinegar was held up to Jesus on the cross, John 19:29. There are many plants associated together with hyssop by qualities easily noticed rather than by close botannical affinities. So in this scripture he knows that if he is cleansed with hyssop, he knows he'll be completely clean, so much so that he will be whiter than snow, and I can't percieve what whiter than freshly fallen snow could be. There is such an assurance. This verse is so beautiful of the LOVE and FORGIVENESS and cleansing of God through Jesus interceding on our behalf. The Father Loves us so much, that we in the flesh could only get a glimpse of His unfailing LOVE for us. Oh how he must hurt on how the world is so sinful and filthy. Someday real soon we will be back in his LOvE. Oh how I can't wait. Take Good Care songnheart. In the Father's unfathomable Love, Serenetime
83 | What is salvation? | Ps 68:19 | serenetime | 28304
Charis,Salvation is first in Romans 10. Notice verse 4, For Christ is end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth. Rom.10:9,10, If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10) for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. But also 11, it says "whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. But in verse 16, Isaiah says "who hath believed our report". verse 17, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. In Acts16:30,31 it says "And brought them out and said" Sirs what must I do to be saved." verse 30, And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Eph 2:5 "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Luke 1:74-80 That he would grant us, that we being delivered out of the hand of the enemy might serve him without fear. 75) In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. 76) And thou child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways; 77)To give knowledge of salvation unto His people by the remission of their sins, 78)Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79) To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." 80) And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel. I truly believe that you can confess with mouth, but if you don't know what you are confessing then how can you be saved. Saved from what? Rom.10:17 explains that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Yes, confession without knowledge is the first step, but it's up to the teachers to teach the true meaning of salvation. We as teachers are responsible to teach his word so then all know his true salvation from sin and that the enemy no longer hath dominion over them, and God's love and tender mercy through grace giving them power and confidence to endure to the end. Trusting in Jesus every day and him dying on the cross. Is it instantaneous as in confession and not knowing what you're confessing to. It's gradual, and in getting to know why you are saved and from what. So when at the judgement, Jesus doesn't say, depart from me, I never knew you. Serenetime
84 | why did jesus speak in parables ? | Ps 78:2 | serenetime | 26944
Anonymous, Everyones answers have been very good, but I just wanted to add a little to what I've read here. Yes, in Matt. 13 Jesus is speaking in a parable regarding a sower who went forth to sow, verses 1-9, notice that Jesus says in verse 9, Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. He's pointing out that who here has the ears to really hear what I'm saying to you. Doesn't faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.It's not just the normal hearing, but truly percieving what is being said and understanding. Then in verse 10, And the disciples came, and said unto Him, "Why speakest thou unto them in parables?" Then in verse 11 he says, He answered and said unto them, "Because it is given unto you (to know) the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but unto them it is not given. I put an enficies on to know, because Jesus says on judgement day, go ye workers of iniquity, I knew you not. the KNOWING is so imperitive, trust me. Verse 12, For whosoever hath, ( I'm adding (ears to hear)to him shall be given (remember v 11 here), and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, (ears to hear and know) from him shall be taken away even that he hath. This has to be with your HEART. Verse 13, Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing SEE NOT; and hearing they HEAR NOT, neither do they UNDERSTAND. Verse 14, And IN them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear and not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not percieve. Verse 15 For this people's HEART is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should UNDERSTAND with their HEART, and should be converted, and I should heal them. This parable goes with Romans 11, read it all. I'm telling you when your eyes begin to open and you truly see, you continue to see more and more and more and more, and hear more and more and deeper and deeper understanding. The rest of the chapter continues to help you to see the meaning of this parable. It is so deep. But then he explains the parable to his disciples after sending the multitude away. isn't that interesting. Then in verse 35 he quotes prophecy from Ps. 78:2 I truly stand by that you can't truly understand the new testament without knowing the old testament. Jesus backs me up in verse 35 (I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world). SO POWERFUL I truly hope I have helped you to see and understand why he spoke in parables. The Father's Word is AWESOME above AWESOME. Keep reading and studying and praying for eyes that truly see and ears that truly HEAR. Thank you Anonymous because by me helping you to see and hear I Saw and Heard something I have never Saw or Heard with greater understanding as ever before. I was truly BLESSED above measure. 85 | Bible Reference: "Sea of Forgetfulness" | Ps 103:12 | serenetime | 41019
itsy4u, I've enjoyed all I've read. Another thought comes to mind also what is written in Hebrews. Heb 8:1-13 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. 3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. 4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. 6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. Notice what it says in verse 12, I will remember no more (unrighteousness, and sins). But he is MERCIFUL. Thank you Father for the Peace through Iesous. Phil 4:7 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. KJV John 14:16-20 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 86 | Doubleminded? | Ps 119:113 | serenetime | 39239
Lovefountain, James 1:2-8 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. KJV NT:1374 dipsuchos (dip'-soo-khos); from NT:1364 and NT:5590; two-spirited, i.e. vacillating (in opinion or purpose): KJV - double minded. The word to vacillate in the Websters encyclopedia of dictionaries is rendered: to move to and fro; to waver; to be unsteady; to flucuate in opinion. In my opinion this is saying that we are constantly being tempted by the adversary in our flesh. If we continue in seeking The Father in prayer and in the word asking for his wisdom, not the wisdom of this world. The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. We will never be exempt from satan's devices, but we have the victory through the true word, the true messiah, the spoken word. Mark 4:15 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. You see he is constantly trying to take the word out our hearts. DON'T LET HIM!!!! KJV 1 Cor 1:20 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? KJV 1 Cor 1:27-31 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. KJV Keep your chin up, The Living Water (the Father) knows our hearts. Luke 16:15 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. KJV the Father knows we struggle, but it's ok as long as we don't let our fleshly nature take over, wouldn't you agree? 87 | What does fearfully mean in this verse | Ps 139:14 | serenetime | 25203
Darnea, Hi, I just wanted to drop a little information about your question on Ps.139:14 the word fearfully is translated back to the original Hebrew as the word (yare) meaning to fear morally, and revere, to frighten, be (make) afraid, dread, put in fear, reverence. To revere means to regard with mingled fear, respect and affection; to reverence. Reverence means awe mingled with respect and esteem. And of course to have morals is to be in right conduct or duties of man; ethically, virtuous; chaste; discriminating against right and wrong; didactic; verified by reason or probability. With all that in mind, always striving to be more Christ like daily in our lives. We are to be a light that shineth in darkness. It's not telling us to be fearful as we would be fearful of a prowler or stalker for example. This fear is of the world. The Father is Spirit and Love. In His Love, Serenetime

89 | Is the drunkenness figurative? | Jer 13:13 | serenetime | 28334
Searcher56, Using the Strongs Concordance, The word drunkenness taken back to original language of Jer.13:13 is #7943 intoxication, then going to #7937, shakar, a primitive root, to become tipsy in a qualified sense, to satiate with a stimulating drink or (figuratively) influence. Speaking of Israel in Ezek.23:29-34 same meaning, verse 30, I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols. Verse 33, Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria. In the Living Water, Serenetime
90 | Is satan a spirit? | Ezek 28:14 | serenetime | 26511
Mincc, First of all where it says Satan in scripture. The meaning of the word Satan is #7854 (Meaning for Satan in all OT) translated back to original Hebrew is, An opponent, the arch enemy of God. Adversary, withstand, resist. Now I believe that he is most definitely spirit. When speaking of Angels, they too are spirit because they are in the spiritual realm. In NT in the original Greek is #4567 meaning Aramaic in origin (same meaning in all NT scriptures) The accuser, i.e. the devil. But what kind of spirit is another story, but we can all agree is that he is in the spiritual realm, and we are not, right? Now if we're saying that Satan is Lucifer is #1966 in the original Hebrew meaning of the OT, In a sense of Brightness, the Morning Star, King of Babylon. The word Lucifer is not found in the NT. As in Ezek. 28:14 is says he was a Cherub, it is #3742 in the original Hebrew, and is the same translation for Cherub in all the OT. It says that a cherub is an imaginary figure. As for to kill. In Exodus 20:13 where we find the Ten Commandments it says Thou shall not kill. The meaning for kill in the original Hebrew is properly to dash to pieces, i.e. kill (a human being), especially to murder. Put to death, manslayer, murderer. From this translation I see and wholeheartedly believe that it means to premeditate to murder someone. Like lying in wait. Like having a plan. Because if not then all the people who have killed in self defense here and in war are unjustifiable. God gave us free will (YES) but also common sense in understanding his Word (letter to us) Accusing an innocent person that was drafted to war and had no choice but to kill and defend themselves and for the our country, and a person who kills someone that invades their home and it's either kill them or be killed is ludicrious, would you agree? So after all this, it is a sin to commit suicide, because it is premeditated. I hope this helps my friend. In the Love of the Living Water. Serenetime
91 | Is satan a spirit? | Ezek 28:14 | serenetime | 26547
SRN, I do agree that the word Satan means like an obstacle. I did say opponent, Adversary. But I don't agree that Satan himself lives in men, maybe the spirit of Satan lives in some men. I know he doesn't live in me nor his spirit. I'm not trying to make him out to be a mythological entity as you say. I was just putting down the translation of the word, and trying to be of help to mincc. Take Care, In Love, Serenetime

93 | Three days or three years? | Amos 4:4 | serenetime | 35060
Makarios, Interesting find and question. It's interesting that some translations say three days, and some say three years. In the KJV, it also says three years, but when going back to the original Hebrew and or Caldee in the Strongs Exhaustive Concordance it renders the meaning as such, OT#3117 yowm (yome); from an unused root meaning to be hot; a day (as the warm hours), whether literal (from sunrise to sunset, or from one sunset to the next), or figurative (a space of time defined by an associated term), often used adverb: KJV - age, always, chronicals, continually (-ance), daily, ([birth-], each, to) day, (now a, two) days (agone), elder, X end, evening, (for) ever (-lasting, -more), X full, life, as (so) long as (... live), (even) now, old, outlived, perpetually, presently, remaineth, X required, season, X since, space, then, (process of) time, as at other times, in trouble, weather, (as) when, (a, the, within a) while (that), X whole (age), (full) year (-ly), younger. In this we notice that it says that it's a "day", but then it also says it's an "age", "season", "space", and "daily". Possibly literally sunrise to sunset, or sunset to sunset. A space in time. But I know it says in scripture that a day to the Lord is a thousand years. 2 Peter 3:8 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. KJV My interpretation of this, is that three days means three ages, and three years also means three ages. In that years symbolises the thousand year period of one day, also rendering it an age. 94 | What scripture talks about alcohol | Hab 2:5 | serenetime | 23991
Nolan, I'm confused with your answer. I need your help. Jesus's first miracle was in John 2:1-10. Jesus comes to this wedding. It says that there were six waterpots which held 2 to 3 firkens per pot of water. After filling them to the brim, Jesus says to draw them out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. When the ruler of the feast tasted the water that was made into wine he knew not whence it was: but the servants that drew the water knew. When the governor of the feast called the bridgroom, he said unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. I don't understand, but from what the governor says, that everyone at this wedding are already drunk. Jesus is bringing the best wine last, so because everyone is already drunk, wont they be gusling this wine when they shouldn't be drinking at all according to my understanding of your answer. I don't want to misunderstand. I would appreciate your imput. In the Father's Love, Serenetime
95 | What scripture talks about alcohol | Hab 2:5 | serenetime | 24084
Nolan, Hi again. Pertaining to your last note to me. I wanted to show you why I was confused. That in Prov. 23:29-35, and in Hab. 2:5, Joel 1:5, Hosea 4:18, Jeremiah 13:12-14, which you gave as an answers for drinking alcohol being a sin to B. Burnette that from my understanding of these verses that they pertain to the cup of wrath prophesized of the coming of King Nebachadnezzar, and is an example of how the people would not listen and believe his coming. He as you know is a type of antichrist. Because they would not hear the truth he would send them a strong delusion (cup of wrath). Just like I believe it shows in the book of Revelations of the coming Antichrist, which will also send a strong delusion (cup of wrath),to believe a lie. In Rev. 14:8, And there followed another angel saying, Babylon has fallen, is fallen, that great city because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. In Ezek.44:21 which you also gave as an example, it says Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court. This is for the priests only. As far as the original question goes, a clear interpretation for me to see is to use Eph.5:18 it says,And be not drunk with wine wherein in excess; but be filled with the Spirit. In Deut 29:6 This a good example of not drinking wine or strong drink. They were on a type of probation. It says, You have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the LORD you God. In Ruth 3:7 it says And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she (Ruth) came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down. This is a great example of being seduced. What it comes down to is that like anything we should not drink too much, and keep our faculties in tact. So we can remain safe for ourselves and others. There are many other verses having to do with drinking. Drinking alcohol to an excess is a sin as you can see, because you can hurt yourself and other's who are innocent. But it is also a sin to tell someone they cannot drink wine at all, because Jesus brought it as a wedding gift. Thanks for your time, and if there is any other verses that you feel can clarify this better, it would be a benefit to all. IN the Father's Love, Serenetime
96 | should you tithe | Malachi | serenetime | 15243
Lillie, I believe you should tithe only to a church where you learning the true word of God. If you are not being fed to the point where it's not opening up your understanding to the true word, then God would not want you to support this church. For instance, it's my experience that where they don't teach chapter by chapter, verse by verse, then you are not getting the whole story of the book. Many times churches will give you a verse, and then give you a whole story on that verse by whoever is teaching at the time. Alot of times it's taken completely out of context. We need to start from the beginning of the chapter and read the whole thing in order to get the true meaning of that verse. I find using a Strong's Concordance is very helpful, because it translates back to the original Hebrew,Chaldee, and in the New testament, the Greek. The way it was originally written before translated into English. Tithing is good in order to support your church and to get blessed by the Father. I don't agree with ten percent of your gross though. I guess people teach this according to the book of Malachi. Which is in the Old testament, and alot of people will say that's the old covenant. Were in a new covenant now, but when it comes to tithing they have no problem going back to the Old. You can support your church and be blessed without the ten percent of your gross, and it's still faith. Your helping to continue to get the true word of God taught. Take Care, Serenetime
97 | What type of "magic" do magi do? | Matt 2:1 | serenetime | 27697
Hi Hix, Regarding what type of magic do the magi do. I came up with looking up the words "wise"in Matt.2:1 In the Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, going back to the original languages, I found that wise is #3097 in the Greek, it's Magos,of foreign origin from OT #7248, meaning a magian, oriental scientist, a magician. Also for sorcerer. I looked up sorcerer and from Acts.13:8 sorcerer is also translated #3097 in the greek. So I looked up #7248 in the OT which is Rab-mag, foreign word for Magian. Rab-mag, a Babylonian official. Then when looking up magician it's #2749 in the OT, is Chartom coming from from #2748, meaning magician but when you go to #2748 it means a horoscopian, as drawing of magical lines or circles. But interesting enough when I looked up witchcraft it was in Gal.5:20, #5331,coming from #5332, pharmakeia- medication (pharmacy), i.e. by extension (Magic) literally or figuratively, sorcery.#5332 is pharmakeus- from pharmakon ( a drug, i.e, spellgiving potion); a druggist ("pharmacist") or poisoner, i.e. by extension a magician. As you can see this is where we get our words pharmacy, pharmicist. Makes you think, huh??I hope I've been of some help. Take Care Hix, In the Father's LOVE, Serenetime
98 | Information about the "fish" | Matt 4:18 | serenetime | 20684
When Jesus told his disciples in Matt.4:19, Follow me and I will make you fishers of men. They related to this because in Matt.4:18 they were casting their nets in the sea of Galilee. That was their livelihood. They saw Jesus walking on the water. He was the teacher, and they learned from him, and his ways. So this is where I believe the fish emblem came from. Also in scripture is sometimes calls the sea, the nations. I hope this helps. Of the True Father, Serenetime
99 | Is lusting after wife sin? | Matt 5:28 | serenetime | 23313
Xchngdlife, I have looked up the word lust only in some new testament scriptures. In Matt.5,28 the word lust is 1937 in the Greek, epithumeo, To set the heart upon, long for rightfully or otherwise. It is the same in James 4,2. In Rom.7,7 the word is 1939 in the Greek is epithumia, meaning a longing for, especially what is forbidden. In 1 Cor. 10,6 it is 1938 in the Greek, epithumetes, meaning a craver, to lust after and comes from 1937. In the New World Dictionary for Lust it says, pleasure, delight, appetite, to be eager, also it says a desire to gratify the senses, bodily appetite, sexual desire, seeking unrestrained gratification, etc. Lusting for your wife is a good thing. As long as it's only your wife. Serenetime
100 | Is lusting after wife sin? | Matt 5:28 | serenetime | 25197
Xchngdlife, After I had answered this question by you previously I had a awful feeling about this that somehow my answer was incomplete. But the Holy spirit kept tugging at my heart to complete this answer. I really feel that even though I gave some meanings of lust in the NT, I have noticed that not one was good, except the one in Matthew. Because it says it can be for good or bad, but to me it's still not good. It makes my answer look like a mistake. But now I would like to give some other examples of lust, covet, desire, etc. They are all the same meaning, Doesn't every christian desireth, lust for, covet for the return of Iesous. It's in Love. In 1Cor. 12:31 It is 2206, Zeloo in the Greek means to have warmth of feeling for or against, covet earnestly, lust, have desire, be zealous, envy. When you and your wife are apart there is a desire to be together, because when you do, you and her become one flesh. In Deut. 18:6 which is the book of the law, the word is Desire (which has the same meaning for Lust, covet) is #185 meaning longing for, desire, lust after, pleasure. Also in Deut. 21:11, again in the Hebrew for lust is #2836 Chashaq, Meaning cling, join, to love, delight in, to deliver, have a delight, set in love, a longing. I know that when my husband is away at work, I have a strong desire for his company and closeness. It's not just desire for sexuality, but also for companionship. Today for example I called him at work really missing him, just wanting to talk. He missed me just as much. And still desiring, lusting, longing for one another after 22yrs. of marriage. I thank Iesous for bringing us together in 1980. In 1Cor. 14:39. for covet (lust) is #2206 again Zeloo in the Greek meaning, to have warmth of feeling for or against, affect, covet earnestly, have desire, lust, be zealous. So you see there is also good side to this coin. I, too agree with the others that the husband is to love their wives, even as Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it, and likewise the wife is to love her husband and submit, etc. It's not exact how the scripture reads, but close enough. Take care, I hope this helps. In the Love of the Father Serenetime
