81 | "Sons" of perdition? | NT general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 38643
Dear Kalos, God's word is perfect and we are not, nor are we qualified to change His word. You state," We'll just substitute the word "Satan" for "son of perdition" in John 17:12." We are warned about adding words in the Bible in the following, Rev 22:18 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: KJV Please reconsider substituting words in the Bible I don't think this is a good thing to do based on Rev 22:18. Within the context of the whole Bible, please show me where it says "sons" of perdition, which would give some ground to stand on when contending that there is more than one son of perdition? Bless you, Love Fountain 2 Tim 2:15 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. KJV |

Dear Tim, Thank you for the response. You state,"If they were in the same passage, or even passages written by the same author, one might be able to make that claim. However, these are two different passages by two different authors." How could this be? Two different authors? 2 Peter 1:20-21 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. KJV I always thought the Holy Spirit was the author of the whole Bible, but you are saying that John and 2Thes had two different authors? I also thought that Jesus comes to us in the volume of the book as it is written in the following, Heb 10:7 7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. KJV Ps 40:7 7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, KJV Are we to look at the context of each book of the Bible being separate or at the whole context of the Bible as being one? You also state,"Thus, the son of perdition had to be one of those given to Christ by God - i.e. one of the Disciples." To this I ask you, has not Jesus overcome satan and satan has thereby been given over to Christ? Bless you, Love Fountain |

83 | "Sons" of perdition? | NT general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 38628
Dear Tim, I was browsing through the forum and came to this thread where we were discussing who the son of perdition was. I believe the son of perdition is satan in John 17:12 and in 2Thes 2:3 not Judas. You recently helped me learn about a definite article. In 2Thes 2:3 and in John 17:12, the Greek words for "the son of perdition" are "ho huios tees apooleias". They are exactly the same and both have the definite article. So according to the rules of grammar, when dealing with a definite article, it is my understanding that the son of perdition has to be either satan or Judas, it cannot be both, because of the definite article. Is this correct? Bless you, Love Fountain |

84 | The Miracles of Elisha | 2 Kings | Love Fountain | 38584
Dear Makarios, You stated,"* Parts the Jordan River - 2 Kings 2:13-14 * Makes Jericho spring drinkable - 2 Kings 2:19-22 * Sends bears to punish irreverent youths - 2 Kings 2:23-25 * Floods ditches to confuse Moabites - 2 Kings 3:1-27 * Multiplies widow's oil - 2 Kings 4:1-7 * Shunammite woman bears a son - 2 Kings 4:8-17 * Resurrects Shunammite's son - 2 Kings 4:18-37 * Purifies poisoned stew - 2 Kings 4:38-44 * Heals Naaman's leprosy - 2 Kings 5:1-14 * Gehazi struck with leprosy - 2 Kings 5:15-27 * Floats lost axhead - 2 Kings 6:1-7 * Gives special sight to the king's messenger - 2 Kings 6:16-17 * Blinds the Aramean army - 2 Kings 6:8-23 * His bones resurrect a dead man - 2 Kings 13:20-21 [Taken from the Ryrie Study Bible Expanded Edition, 1995, The Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, Charles Caldwell Ryrie, Th.D., Ph.D., pg. 586] - Makarios" Then you state," * Strike men with blindness - 2 Kings 6:18 " This is a double post. Striking men with blindness(2Kings 6:18) is the same as blinding the aramean army(2Kings 6:8-23) as you already stated. Elijah did 8 miracles and Elisha was given a double portion of Elijah's spirit and performed sixteen miracles not seventeen. I am confused why you brought up prime numbers? What is a prime number and what does this have to do with Elijah and Elisha? Isn't a double portion like saying 8 times 2 equals 16? The Bible says double portion, not double portion plus one. 85 | Mat 26:7/Luke 7:37 -is this same woman | Bible general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 38162
Dear vblaise, Thank you for the question. Perhaps you may find the following of interest. The Six Marys This Is Appendix 100 From The Companion Bible. The name "Mary", when used of the Lord's mother, is always in Greek Mariam (equals sign) the Hebrew Miriam, as in Exodus 15:20. The other five are usually "Maria". 1.Mary the mother of our Lord (Matthew 1:16, etc.). The context never leaves room for any doubt as to her indentity. 2.Mary the mother of James the less and Joses (Matthhew 27:56. Mark 15:40; 16:1. Luke 24:10). She is called "the other Mary" (Matthew 27:61; 28:1), and the wife of Cleopas (John 19:25). 3.Mary the sister of Martha, who anointed the Lord's feet (John 12:3), see Appendix 156 and 158. She is mentioned by name only in Luke 10:39, 42 and John 11:1, 2, 19, 20, 28, 31, 32, 45; and 12:3. 4.Mary Magdalene, of Magdala (Matthew 15:39). She is always to be indentified by this designation (Matthew 27:56. Mark 16:1, 9. Luke 8:2. John 20:18, etc.); there is no authority whatever for identifying her with the unnamed woman of Luke 7:37-50. 5.Mary the mother of John Mark (Acts 12:12). 6.Mary, one of Paul's helpers (Romans 16:6). An appendix from the Companion Bible at www.therain.org Hope this helps. Bless you, Love Fountain |

86 | The Miracles of Elisha | 2 Kings | Love Fountain | 38156
Dear Makarios, Thank you for listing the miracles of Elisha. Please allow me to add a couple things. While Elijah participated in eight miracles, we know that Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah's spirit in 2Kings 2:9 and it was given to him because he had eyes to see Elijah being taken up in a whirlwind. By this double portion, Elisha participated in sixteen miracles and you have listed fourteen. How about, Bread multiplied in 2Kings 4:43, this is separate from purifying the poisoned stew in 4:41 and, Opens the eyes of men(restoring sight) in 2Kings 6:20, which is different than the giving of special sight to the king's messenger in 6:16,17. In addition to the list you provided please add the two above and you have sixteen miracles for a double portion of Elijah given to Elisha. Bless you, Love Fountain |

Dear Mommapbs, Thank you for the conversation! I look forward to the day also to be with our Father rejoicing in Love for Him and each other. I also know that we are to be also longsuffering and patient to His return and always remember that whatever challenge we come up against, if there is not love, then it is not the true Savior. Bless you in your search for truth and stand in His love! Love Fountain |

88 | Woman named Joanna? | Luke 24:10 | Love Fountain | 38015
Dear Makarios, Here is some info, sorry for any duplication. JOANNA JOANNA (jo-an'-a) (Ioana, or Ioanna): The wife of Chuzas, Herod's steward. She was one of the "women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities" which "ministered unto him (King James Version, i.e. Jesus, or "them" the Revised Version (British and American), i.e. Jesus and His disciples) of their substance," on the occasion of Jesus' tour through Galilee (Luke 8:2-3). Along with other women she accompanied Jesus on His last journey from Galilee to Jerusalem, and was present when His body was laid in the sepulcher (Luke 23:55). She was thus among those who prepared spices and ointments, who found the grave empty, and who "told these things unto the apostles" (Luke 23:56-24:10). (from International Standard Bible Encyclopaedia, Electronic Database Copyright (c)1996 by Biblesoft) JOANNA JOANNA 1. Son of Rhesa (Luke 3:27). (See HANANIAH, 7). 2. Wife of Herod's steward Chuza. She ministered from her substance to Jesus. It is a coincidence obviously undesigned, therefore confirming the truth of the Gospel history, that Herod therein is recorded as having "said to his servants, This is John the Baptist" (Matt 14:2). She being our Lord's disciple He would be naturally often spoken of among Herod's servants, and to them Herod would speak concerning Him, Manaen, Herod's foster brother, was a church teacher subsequently (Acts 13:1). Joanna was also one of the women who brought spices early to the Lord's tomb (Luke 24:10). (from Fausset's Bible Dictionary, Electronic Database Copyright (c)1998 by Biblesoft) JOANNA JOAN'NA (jo-a'na; Gk., probably feminine of Joannes, John). The wife of Chuza, the steward of Herod Agrippa (Luke 8:3). She, with other women, was either cured of disease by Jesus or received material benefits from Him and afterward ministered to Him and His disciples. She was also one of the women to whom Christ appeared after the resurrection (Luke 24:10). For the name in Luke 3:27, see Joanan. (From The New Unger's Bible Dictionary. Originally published by Moody Press of Chicago, Illinois. Copyright (c) 1988.) JOANNA [joe AN uh] (Jehovah has been gracious) - the wife of Chuza, the steward of Herod Antipas. Along with Mary Magdalene, Susanna, and others, she provided for the material needs of Jesus and His disciples from her own funds (Luke 8:3). Joanna was one of the women who witnessed the empty tomb and announced Christ's resurrection to the unbelieving apostles (Luke 24:1-10). (from Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary, Copyright (c)1986, Thomas Nelson Publishers) NT:2489 Ioanna (ee-o-an'-nah); feminine of the same as NT:2491; Joanna, a Christian: KJV - Joanna. NT:2491 Ioannes (ee-o-an'-nace); of Hebrew origin [OT:3110]; Joannes (i.e. Jochanan), the name of four Israelites: KJV - John. (Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.) 89 | The town of Emmaus? | Luke 24:13 | Love Fountain | 38010
Dear Makarios, Here is a little info, EMMAUS (e-ma'-us), (em'-a-us) (Emmaous, derivation uncertain, but probably from chammath, "a hot spring"): Josephus (BJ, IV, i, 3) says: "Now Emmaus, if it be interpreted, may be rendered 'a warm bath' for therein is a spring of warm water useful for healing." Here he is referring to the hot springs near Tiberias. Possibly the same Greek name may not always have been derived from the same Hebrew, and as Cheyne suggests (2) may have come from ha-motsah (see below). 1. Emmaus of the Apocrypha: (1) A place where Judas Maccabaeus defeated Gorgias (1 Macc 4); it was "in the plain" (1 Macc 3:40); it was subsequently fortified by Bacchides (1 Macc 9:50). It is frequently mentioned by Josephus (Ant, XIV, xi, 2; BJ, I, xi, 2; II, v, 1; xx, 4; IV, viii, 1; V, i, 6), and also in the Talmud and Midrash It is now the modern mud-village of 'Amwas, 20 miles along, and a little North of, the main road from Jerusalem to Jaffa. In the 3 rd century it was called Nicopolis and was an episcopal see; in early Christian times it was famous for a spring of reputed healing qualities. (2) The Emmaus of Luke 24:13, a village 60 furlongs (stadia) from Jerusalem. 2. Emmaus of Luke: Early Christian tradition appears to have identified it with (1) and hence, to harmonize the distance, some manuscripts have 160 furlongs. Eusebius and Jerome place this Emmaus at 'Amwas; but in the first place (1) was a city and not a village (kome), and secondly (2) the distance, 40 miles there and back, is an almost impossible one for the narrative. In Crusading times this difficulty appears to have been realized, and on what grounds is not known, Kubeibeh at just over 60 stadia, Northwest of Jerusalem, was selected as the site of Emmaus. There a fine church was built which has in recent years been rebuilt and today a Franciscan hospice and school, attached to the church, and a newer German Roman Catholic hospice, combine with the considerable picturesqueness of the place itself to fortify the tradition. A much more probable site is Quloniyeh, a village about 35 stadia from Jerusalem, on the road to Jaffa. Josephus narrates (BJ, VII, vi, 6) that Vespasian "assigned a place for 800 men only whom he had dismissed from his army which he gave them for their habitation; it is called Emmaus and is distant from Jerusalem 60 furlongs." This is almost certainly the Emmaus of Luke; it is highly probable that the name quloniyeh is derived from the fact of its being this Colonia. Close to this place is a ruin known as Bet Mizza, which is probably the Mozah (ha-motsah) of Josh 18:26 which in the Talmud (Cukk. 4:5) is also described as a colonia. Today it is a "colony" of Jews who have revived and always use the old name Motsah for their settlement. Other suggestions for this Emmaus are (a) el Khamsa, considerably over 60 stadia Southwest of Jerusalem (Conder); (b) Koriet el 'enab, some 10 stadia farther a1 ong the Jerus-Jaffa road than Kuloniyeh (Thomson, The Land and the Book, etc.); and (c) 'Artas, South of Bethlehem, where remains of Roman baths have been found (Mrs. Finn). In not one of the places suggested are there any hot springs. (from International Standard Bible Encyclopaedia, Electronic Database Copyright (c)1996 by Biblesoft) Hope this helps. 90 | Physical death in the flesh? | 1 Cor 5:8 | Love Fountain | 38008
Dear Mommapbs, Thanks for the question. You ask,"Are you suggesting that this can be accomplished while we are still "in the flesh?" When I stated putting off the flesh, I meant this in a physical sense, not spiritual. I believe we have a soul, which is our intellect and our soul dwells within a flesh body here and now on earth. When our flesh body takes its last breath, physical death, I believe our soul leaves the flesh body(terrestrial) and enters into our spiritual(celestial) body. 2 Cor 5:1 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. KJV and, 1 Cor 15:35-46 35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. KJV I hope this answers your question. Bless you, Love Fountain |

91 | Whose baptism? | John 13:6 | Love Fountain | 38005
Dear Andrew Jr., Thank you for your response. Regarding your referrence to 1Sam 13:9, Saul took it upon himself to offer unto God, for guidance on what he should do not as a sacrifice. Saul's offence came in disobedience to the word of God, the word which came through Samuel in 1Sam 10:8, where Samuel told Samuel to goto Gilgal and wait for Samuel for 7 days. Saul did not wait, but panicked when he saw the Hebrews leave him and he was exposed to the Phillistine army. Sauls offence was disobedience to Gods word through his lack of faith in waiting for an appointed time. As I stated above Saul was seeking guidance not forgiveness. People everyday who have been baptized or born from above by the Holy Spirit have doubts and lapses in their faith through thoughts of doubt alone, can we then conclude that they are not truly born from above because of lapses in faith? You state,"Saul was not baptized of the Spirit because he was not dead to sin." I have always believed to be dead to sin meant that you no longer choose to sin but still sin unconsciously, therefore we are all sinners even still as believers. Also, you state,"Being born again means that a change has happened." Please slowly read the following, 1 Sam 10:9 9 And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day. KJV A change happened to Saul, God gave him another heart according to the above verse. Then you state,"Now Saul had not reveive the gift of the Holy Spirit but rather the Spirit overcame him temperarily because he had not been born again." I would contend that Saul indeed was born from above(again). In 1Pet 1:23, we are told that we are born again by the word of God as follows, 1 Peter 1:23 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. KJV Saul was shown the word of God by Samuel in 1Sam 9:27 which preceeded the Spirit of God coming upon him in 1Sam 10:10. This did not happen, except but by the word of God and by the word of God alone does it ever happen. Every single baptism in the Bible is always preceeded and brought on by the written or spoken word of God. Not one baptism can be found in the Scriptures without the word of God. Then you state,"This process happens in the twinkling of eye because God does not do things in parts or incomplete." This process does not happen in the twinkling of an eye. The words," in a twinkling of an eye", are only used in the Bible in 1COr 15:52, to let us know that some people will change into a spiritual body from a flesh body at the last trump and is not in reference to baptism. Finally you state,"John the baptist said unto the Pharisees the he baptized with water only, but Jesus would baptize with fire." To this I ask is their a difference between water and fire? Are they not both the word? Jer 5:14 14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them. KJV Jer 23:29 29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? KJV Prov 13:14 14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. KJV Eph 5:26-27 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. KJV Bless you, Love Fountain Eph 2:8 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: KJV Rom 10:17 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 92 | what is the state of the dead in Christ? | 1 Cor 5:8 | Love Fountain | 37982
Dear Mommapbs, Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I believe it is truly a gift that you and I are able and allowed to think our own thoughts and make our own choices, I think this to be called freewill. Freewill is an incredible gift. We can choose to believe and follow that which is good or that which is not good. That which is good can be followed by reading the Bible, which I believe God has written to all His children on a personal basis. There are many parts to the body of Christ, it is like a puzzle. Christ is the border of the puzzle. He is the foundation, the side walls and the ceiling and we fill the body or middle. Christ is the most important border pieces which hold the whole puzzle together and all pieces must fit within the borders He has laid before us, which is His word. You are courageous to open the thoughts of your heart before the forum as you have done in this post and I find interest in your thoughts and thank you for sharing, but I must go to the word for all clarity and to test what it is you are stating. I have always been fascinated by trees in the Bible, whether it be the Tree of Life or the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. One conclusion that I have come to is that no tree can live without water. Water is the source of all life, throughout the whole universe and this little planet we now live on. Our never ending search in space travel is for water among other resources. You said life is within the blood, but without water would there be any blood? Jesus says all who come to me, I will give of the fountains of living water(John 4). In Jer 2:13, God says my people have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters. Without out water there is no existence of life, whether it be physical or spiritual. The Bible does say we are cleansed by the blood of Christ and the Bible says we are cleansed through the Word which I have spoken(John 15:3). James 1:21 say the engrafted Word is able to save our souls. Psalms 107:20 says His Word healed them. 2Tim 3:15 says the Scriptures are able to make thee wise onto salvation. 1Tim 4:5 says we are sanctified by the Word of God and prayer. John 8:32 says the Truth shall make you free. Psalm 119:50 Thy Word hath quickened me. 1Cor 4:15 says Begotten...through the Gospel and 1Pet 1:23 says we are born...by the Word of God. Everywhere we are led in the Bible, always begins and ends with the Word. Christ and the Scriptures are one and this is confirmed in Rev 19:13,"His name is called the Word of God and in John 1:1. Science has provided many insights into God and His creation. We have been allowed by God to learn many marvellous things about our chemical make up. The only caution that comes to my mind when I approach science and the focus of many in the scientific community is that they are always working towards the preservation of our corruptible and sick flesh bodies. Scripture is clear that we have two bodies, one is terrestrial(flesh) and one is celestial(spiritual) 1Cor 15:35-49. The promises of eternal life are not in the corruptible flesh body but rather in the incorruptible spiritual body, yet humans are constantly searching to preserve the flesh. As the preacher said vanity of vanity all is vanity, and I agree. When I think of the word "cell", after reading the Scriptures, I think of this mortal, corruptible, dying flesh body as a type of prison cell. A spiritual prison cell. Someone once told me Einstein was one of, if not the most intelligent men to ever live and yet he used only ten percent of his brain capacity, by someones calculation. I ask why didn't he use the other ninety percent? Many people have given me many answers to this question and I am sure I will receive many more. Ultimately I believe the true answer will come when I put on the incorruptible spiritual body we have been promised throughout Scripture. The original question I asked you was what do you think physical death is because we were talking about Enoch and Elijah and whether they had experienced physical death. The first thought I had is that flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of God,(1Cor 15:50). My thoughts are that physical death is the putting off of the flesh body. Thank you for listening. Bless you, Love Fountain 1 Cor 15:53-58 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? |

94 | Explain Hebrew letters used in Psalm 119 | Psalm | Love Fountain | 37667
Dear panfararplvan, You might find the following of interest in regards to acrostics. VII. THE ACROSTIC PSALMS. There are nine examples of Acrostics in the Book of Psalms, while eleven other Acrostic Scriptures are found in the Old Testament 8. i. Psalms 9 and 10 are linked together by an Acrostic which, like "the times of trouble" (the great tribulation), of which the two Psalms treat, is purposely broken, and is irregular and out of joint. This Acrostic tells us that the subject of the two Psalms is one, and that they are to be connected together. See notes there on the many expressions common to both. ii. Psalm 25. Here, again, the Acrostic is designedly incomplete, a proof of its genuineness instead of its "corruption". No writer would or could omit a letter from carelessness. The Psalm has the same phenomena as Psalm 34, where the same letter (Vau equals V) is omitted, and the same letter (Pe equals P) is duplicated, in the word Padah, "redeem". The last verse is thus, in each case, made to stand out prominently by itself. iii.Psalm 34. See under ii., above. iv.Psalm 37. In this Psalm the series is perfect and complete. Every letter has two verses of lines each, except three: verses 7 (, Daleth equals D), 20 (, Kaph equals K), and 34 (, Koph equals K). v.Psalm 111. In this Psalm the series is complete. The Psalm has twenty-two lines, each line commending with the successive letters of the alphabet. vi.Psalm 112 is formed on the model of Psalm 111, the two Psalms forming a pair 9 ; Psalm 111 being occupied with Jehovah, and Psalm 112 with the man that revereth Jehovah. See the notes there. vii.Psalm 119. This Psalm consists of twenty-two groups, consisting of eight verses each. The eight verses in each group begin with same letter. For example: the first eight verses begin with (Aleph equals A), the eight verses of the second group with (Beth equals B), and so through the whole Psalm of 176 verses (8 x 22. See Appendix 10). It is impossible to reproduce this (or any of the other alphabetical Acrostics), seeing that the Hebrew and English alphabets do not correspond, either in equivalents, order, or number of the letters. It so happens that in the group beginning with T (verses 65-72), each verse in the Authorized Version does not begin with T, except verses 67 and 71. These can be readily conformed by changing "Before" to "Till" in verse 67; and "It is" to "Tis" in verse 71. The first letters being the same in both alphabets, can be thus presented: Ah! the happinessess of the perfect in the way, Such as walk by the Law of Jehovah. Ah! the happinessess of the keepers of His testimonies, Who seek Him with their whole heart. Assuredly they have not worked iniquity: In His ways they have ever walked. As to Thy commandments - Thou hast commanded us, That we should diligently keep them. Ah Lord, that my ways were prepared To keep Thy statutes; Ashamed, then, should I never be, While I have respect unto all Thy commandments. All my heart shall praise Thee in uprightness, While I learn the judgments of Thy righteousness. All Thy statutes also I will keep: Leave me not utterly. By what means shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to Thy word. By every means my heart hath sought Thee: Let me not err from Thy commandments. Besides, I have laid up Thy Word in my heart, That I might not sin against Thee. Blessed art Thou, O Jehovah: Teach me Thy statutes. By my lips have I recounted All the judgments of Thy mouth. By walking in Thy mandates' way,' I found joy beyond all wealth. By the precepts shall I guide my musings, And shall pore over Thy paths. By Thy statutes shall I be delighted: Thy Word I shall not forget. viii. Psalm 145. In this Psalm the Acrostic is perfect, with the exception of the letter (Nun equals N), which should come between verses 13 and 14. See note there. Through the infirmity of some transcriber, the verse was probably omitted by him. It must have been in the more ancient manuscripts, because it is preserved in the ancient Versions: videlicet, the Septuagint, Syriac,Arabic, Ethiopic, and Vulgate. One Hebrew Codex is known which contains it, as follows: "The LORD is faithful in all His words, And holy in all His works." Moreover, the Structure of the Psalm shows that it originally had its proper place in the Psalm. See the notes on Psalm 145:13,14. ix. For the other Acrotics in the Psalms, see the note on Psalm 96:11. The above is a portion of an appendix from a Companion Bible, from www.therain.org. Bless you, Love Fountain |

95 | who did cain marry? | Gen 1:1 | Love Fountain | 37661
Dear Tim, Thanks for you response. I believe God is the author of the whole Bible. The point I was making is that the book of Leviticus was to the priesthood and must be left out, because Jesus, becoming the High Priest, fulfilled all sacrifices with one sacrifice and all statutes and ordinances were nailed to the cross with Jesus. I made the mistake of quoting from Leviticus and referring to the book as law, when it is not the Law, it is filled with statutes and ordinances which are different. I was responding to fact that you mentioned circumsision and sacrifices for atonement as laws. They were statutes and ordinances for the priesthood, not law for civilians and I apologize for any misunderstanding. God never asked for offerings or sacrifices and they were man made as I supported with Scripture in the previous post. I hope this helps answer your question. Bless you, Love Fountain |

96 | Whose baptism? | John 13:6 | Love Fountain | 37491
Dear Andrew Jr., You state,"Remember when Jesus was baptized the Spirit decended on him as a dove. This baptism could not take place until Jesus Christ resurrected. Read St John 3:5, " Jesus answered, truely, truely I say unto you, Except a man be born of WATER and OF the SPIRIT, he CANNOT enter into the kingdom of God.." I have recently been reading 1Samuel and wonder what you think about the following verses, 1 Sam 9:27-10:11 27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God. 1 Samuel 10 10:1 Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance? 2 When thou art departed from me to day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son? 3 Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine: 4 And they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread; which thou shalt receive of their hands. 5 After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy: 6 And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man. 7 And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee. 8 And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come to thee, and shew thee what thou shalt do. 9 And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day. 10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. 11 And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets? KJV Saul was born of water and of the Spirit way back in the Old Testament, doesn't this sound like the day of Pentecost in Acts? What do you think, was Saul baptized of the Spirit before the resurrection of Jesus Christ? Bless you, Love Fountain |

97 | who did cain marry? | Gen 1:1 | Love Fountain | 37487
Dear Tim, Thank you for the response. You state,"Concerning the Law, are you saying that since Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever that the Law never changes?" Yes, the Law does not change. Please forgive me for quoting from the book of Leviticus regarding incest. The book of Leviticus was written to the Priesthood and is filled with statutes and ordinances such as sacrifices for atonement and circumsision and must be left out because of Hebrews 9 and 10, and Colossians 2:14 which state that statutes and ordinaces were nailed to the cross with Jesus. Heb 10:11-12 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; KJV Col 2:14 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; KJV On top of what I have stated with Scripture to support my view, please find that the Law is from God but statutes and ordinances are not from God and He never asked for sacrifices and takes no pleasure in them whatsoever. Jer 7:22 22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: KJV Ps 40:6 6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. KJV Hos 6:6-7 6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. 7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me. KJV Thank you for helping me learn this by asking great questions. The Law does not change but man made statutes and ordinances do. Incest is an abomination and a sin, it goes against the law of nature and against the Law of our Father. I see incest abiding under thou shalt not commit adultery and, or thou shalt not covet, take your pick. Bless you, Love Fountain Jer 4:4 4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings. KJV Jer 4:14 14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee? KJV Eph 5:25-32 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Dear kalos, You state,"I address the following remarks to you so that I will not need to address them to someone who, having already made up their mind, conveniently chooses to ignore both Scripture and reason." Would the person you are referring to say,"please show me where?" if they were closed minded and ignoring Scripture and reason? Please show me Scripture to support your belief which, shows who Cain married? Others and I agree Scripture is not clear and we can not be sure. You also state,"the law did not exist before it was given. And it wasn't given until it was given, which was 100s of years after Adam and Eve and Cain and Mrs. Cain." If the law didn't exist until it was given, please explain the following, Gen 2:3 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. KJV Is not the law of the Sabbath stated in Gen 2:3? Gen 9:5-6 5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. KJV Is not the law against murder stated in Gen 9:5,6? Is not the law against adultery stated in Gen 12:18; 20:3,9; 26:10,11; Gen 39:9; 49:4? The law can be clearly seen within Scripture before being formally given at Sinai as listed above. Bless you, Love Fountain Rom 2:14-15 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) KJV When would the law have been written in the hearts of Gentiles(Rom 2:15)? |

Dear John, Thank you for the honest answer of "no". The Bible does not clearly state who Cain married. Then you said,"I can show you the evidence in the bible which points to the probability that he married his sister." I would ask you, would you base the salvation of your soul on probability or fact? I pray you would choose fact over presumption. Bless you in your search for the truth, Love Fountain Jer 17:5-7 5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
