122 | What are the other books for? | Revelation | Love Fountain | 36339
Dear Frank, Please find listed the opinion of a commentary as follows, Rev 20:12 [And the books were opened] That is, the books containing the record of human deeds. The representation is, that all that people have done is recorded, and that it will be exhibited on the final trial, and will constitute the basis of the last judgment. The imagery seems to be derived from the accusations made against such as are arraigned before human courts of justice. [And another book was opened, which is the book of life] The book containing the record of the names of all who shall enter into life, or into heaven. See the notes on Rev 3:5. The meaning here is, that John saw not only the general books opened containing the records of the deeds of people, but that he had a distinct view of the list or roll of those who were the followers of the Lamb. It would seem that in regard to the multitudes of the impenitent and the wicked, the judgment will proceed "on their deeds" in general; in regard to the righteous, it will turn on the fact that their names had been enrolled in the book of life. That will be sufficient to determine the nature of the sentence that is to be passed on them. He will be safe whose name is found in the book of life; no one will be safe who is to have his eternal destiny determined by his own deeds. This passage proves particularly that the righteous dead are referred to here as being present at the final judgment; and is thus an additional argument against the supposition of a resurrection of the righteous, and a judgment on them, at the beginning of the millennium. [And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books] The records which had been made of their deeds. The final judgment will proceed on the record that has been made. It will not be arbitrary, and will not be determined by rank, condition, or profession, but it will be according to the record. (from Barnes' Notes, Electronic Database. 124 | what is the state of the dead in Christ? | 1 Cor 5:8 | Love Fountain | 36290
Dear Mommapbs, Thank you for the thoughts and the response. Please find attached commentary notes below, for another thought, Deut 34:1-8 Deuteronomy 34:1-8 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, Verse 1-8. 1 a. Moses went up ... unto mount Nebo (ASV). Moses walked alone the ascent of no return, away from the promised land to the top of the mountain ridge on the west of the plains of Moab, opposite Jericho, to Mount Nebo. The panorama of Israel's sworn inheritance is described as it appeared looking first towards the northeast, thence westward and south, back to the plain stretching between Jericho and Moses. 2. The Western Sea (RSV); i.e., the Mediteranean, lying beyond the hills of Judah, is not naturally visible from Nebo. 4 b. Thou shalt not go over thither. Cf. Deut 1:37; 3:26; 4:21-22; 32:52. Though not now able to enter the land, Moses beheld its northern mountain peaks, on one of which he, with Elijah, was afterwards to stand and speak with the Mediator of the New Covenant concerning the exodus he must accomplish at Jerusalem before he might cross over into the heavenly inheritance (cf. Matt 17:3; Mark 9:4; Luke 9:30-31). It was necessary for Jesus to die before entering his rest, because he was the true Mediator who came to reconcile his sinful people unto God; Moses must die without entering the typical rest because as the OT mediator he had by official transgression disqualified himself for completing the mission which prefigured that of the sinless Son of God. Unlike Moses, who after his death was succeeded by Joshua (Deut 33:9), the Messianic Mediator would succeed himself after his death because it was not possible that death should hold him. 7. Nor his natural force abated. Moses, though 120 years of age (cf. 31:2; 7:7), did not expire of old age, but by the command of God, who by His sovereign word creates and destroys (Deut 34:5). On the location of Moses' burial (v. 6), see 3:29; 4:46. On its sequel, see Jude 9. (from The Wycliffe Bible Commentary, Electronic Database. Copyright (c) 1962 by Moody Press) and, Deut 34:6 Deuteronomy 34:6 And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. [No man knoweth of his sepulchre] Hardly, lest the grave of Moses should become an object of superstitious honor, because the Jews were not prone to this particular fore of error. Bearing in mind the appearance of Moses at the Transfiguration (Matt 17:1-10), and what is said by Jude (Jude 9), we may conjecture that Moses after death passed into the same state with Enoch and Elijah; and that his grave could not be found because he was shortly translated (transported) from it. 125 | what is the state of the dead in Christ? | 1 Cor 5:8 | Love Fountain | 36286
Dear Mommapbs, You say,"There are two individuals in Scripture who did not experience physical death (Enoch - Gen 5:24 and Elijah - 2 Kings 2:11)." I was reading in 1Cor 15:35,36 as follows, 1 Cor 15:35-36 35 But someone will say, "How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?" 36 You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies; NASU Please don't take offense, I am not name calling here. My point is that in the verses above in 1Cor 15 and in the verses to follow as we read the remainder of Chapter 15 we are told that unless the natural(flesh) body dies it will not be raised into a spiritual body. How does this fit into what you have stated regarding Enoch and Elijah? Also, many believe that Moses and Elijah are the two witness in Rev 11. It appears you believe Enoch to be in place of Moses, but what about the fact that the dead body of Moses was buried by Jehovah and was never seen? Deut 34:5-6 5 So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. 6 And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no man knows his burial place to this day. NASU What do you think? Bless you, Love Fountain |

126 | Can a person's spirit visit the earth? | Bible general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 36282
Dear Johnny, You have quoted verses pertaining to the second death, which has to do with the death of the soul. If the soul is dead then I would agree with you that they will no longer visit earth. However, I believe that Suzanne was asking about the first death or death of the physical body and if the spirit ever returns to the Earth for a visit. This can be answered as yes, because of the mount of transfiguration, where we see Moses and Elijah with Jesus returned to Earth from Heaven. Bless you, Love Fountain |

127 | DOES GOD AGREE WITH CREMATION | Bible general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 36227
Dear CHALEBERT, According to 1Cor 15:44 we have two bodies, a natural body and a spiritual body and when we take our last breath in the natural body we leave the physical world and enter into the spiritual. 1 Cor 15:42-46 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. KJV Or how about Ecclesiastes, Eccl 12:6-7 6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. 7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. KJV The spirit returns unto God who gave it, can also be stated as, to be absent from the natural body is to be present with God. 2 Cor 5:1-6 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: KJV I believe God could make another flesh body if He wanted to, But God himself is Spirit and I believe we are promised to live with Him in His image spiritually. I don't know exactly yes or no if God agree's with cremation, but I would believe ashes to ashes and dust to dust, from the ground we are and unto the ground we shall return according to the flesh which is seen as corruptible and weak throughout the Bible as we search for the Truth. Bless you, Love Fountain |

128 | Can a person's spirit visit the earth? | Bible general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 36220
Dear Suzanne, You asked,"When a person dies, and goes to heaven, does their spirit ever return to earth, to visit?" Based on the following Scripture I would say yes. Matt 17:1-3 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. KJV I believe Moses and Elijah were in heaven and came back to Earth, and John 11:43-44 43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. KJV Lazarus died and came back from heaven. The above verses support that yes a persons spirit can return to earth to visit. You never stated what you believed but that's ok, hope this helps. Bless you, Love Fountain |

129 | Rev 8:7 grass burned -9:4 no more grass? | Revelation | Love Fountain | 36210
Dear 1 2Bsaved, Thank you for the question. Many believe the book of Revelation to be a book of symbolisms. In the Old Testament and in the New Testament we are given witness to flesh being grass as follows, Isa 40:6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: and 1Pet 1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: However, I believe the answer to your question is found in Matt 13, with the tares and the wheat. In Rev 9:4 the locusts are commanded not to hurt the grass of the earth and are given permission to hurt only men who have not the seal of God in their foreheads and in Rev 8:7....all the grass was burned. This sounds like the parable of the tares and the wheat of Matt 13:30 as follows, Matt 13:30 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. KJV With an explanation of who exactly the tares and the wheat are in the following verses, Matt 13:37-40 37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. KJV I hope this helps answer your question. Also, the tares, to this day, are poisonous and can kill you if you eat them. TARES zizanion NT:2215 is a kind of darnel, the commonest of the four species, being the bearded, growing in the grain fields, as tall as wheat and barley, and resembling wheat in appearance. It was credited among the Jews with being degenerate wheat. The rabbis called it "bastard." The seeds are poisonous to man and herbivorous animals, producing sleepiness, nausea, convulsions and even death (they are harmless to poultry). The plants can be separated out, but the custom, as in the parable, is to leave the cleaning out till near the time of harvest, Matt 13:25-27,29,30,36,38,40. The Lord describes the tares as "the sons of the evil one"; false teachings are indissociable from their propagandists. For the Lord's reference to the Kingdom see KINGDOM. (from Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words, Copyright (c)1985, Thomas Nelson Publishers) Please read all of Matt 13 for a better understanding. Bless you, Love Fountain |

130 | Who was Jesus asking God to forgive? | Luke 23:34 | Love Fountain | 36182
Dear Searcher, Thank you for your "IMHO". Are you also asking me a question? In response to what you have said,"Jewish leaders - yes, they knew He was the Messiah." If they knew Jesus was the Messiah, why in Luke 23:35, did the rulers or leaders doubt and mock Jesus saying,"...He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God." KJV Had they known Jesus was the Messiah I would believe they would not being saying "IF" he be Christ".Since "IF" is stated, there is an obvious element of doubt from the leaders. What do you think? 131 | Who was Jesus asking God to forgive? | Luke 23:34 | Love Fountain | 36175
Dear Bill Mc, Thank you for the question. Forgive me if my answer has been given elsewhere in the thread but when you asked,"Who was Jesus beseeching the Father to forgive?" The first thought was 1Pet 2:8 as follows, 1 Peter 2:7-8 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. KJV I believe those, that Jesus asked forgiveness for, are those that are disobedient, they stumble at the word where it appears they were appointed. If we go to Romans 11:11 I believe we find the answer of why they were appointed. Rom 11:11 11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. KJV Bless you, Love Fountain |

132 | why must the Father (not the son) forgiv | Luke 23:34 | Love Fountain | 36173
Dear agape7, Thank you for the question. John 17:1-11 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. 6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. 7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. 8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. 10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. 11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. KJV I see Luke 23:34 as one of many examples given to the children of God of how to live. I believe Jesus is portrayed as the son of God, as the example that we the children are to follow. We are to be obedient to the word and in John 17:7, Jesus says,"... all things whatsoever Thou hast given Me; for they are Thine". All things belong to the Father and we as children must be obedient to our Father as Jesus is our example of faith, hope and love to the Father and to each other. May we have mercy like that of Jesus! Bless you, Love Fountain |

134 | nephillim offspring of fallen angels? | Gen 6:1 | Love Fountain | 35645
Dear Makarios, Based on what you had said, I am under the impression that you are saying angels or spiritual bodies only manifest themselves within a human flesh body. So, based upon this impression of what you are saying, this is why in Gen 18, that Abraham washed the feet of the Lord and the feet of two angels in Gen 18:3,4 is because they were in flesh bodies and this is also why they ate together under a tree in Gen 18:8? Is my impression of what you are saying regarding the physical and spiritual existence of angels correct? Bless you, Love Fountain |

Dear Makarios, If I am understanding what you are saying, then would this also apply to Gen 32:24-32, when Jacob wrestled with God and God made Jacob's thigh come out of joint? Based on what you are saying, does your belief also apply here because Scripture states that no man can look upon the face of God? Bless you, Love Fountain |

137 | What will it be like in heaven? | Bible general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 35225
Dear Shel, What heaven will be like, we cannot begin to understand but we are given a glimpse of what some of the attendees will be like in the following, Matt 5:1-19 5:1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: 2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. 13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 138 | Where are the people of Dan 11:32 in NT? | Dan 11:32 | Love Fountain | 35222
Dear Benjamite, Thank you again for your response. In the Bible we have many examples of things to come which happen in the past so that we are not left untold of what is to come or what has been. History repeats itself into existence of a future occurrence time and time again. So with this in mind, my question still stands, where are the people in Dan 11:32 in the NT? History leads us to believe the Macabbeans in that time as you have stated , but how about the future, which is what my question is focused on? What do you think? Bless you, Love Fountain |

139 | satan allowed to blind minds? | Mark 4:15 | Love Fountain | 35218
Dear believer57, Thank you for your love! I do study, in depth and read the Bible almost everyday. You have taken this to many places in Scripture that I also find much hope and love within too. I agree satan was defeated at Calvary, but I do not believe we are done with him just yet because of all the hate and filth that we are surrounded by in this day in time. Every single day is yet filled by more tests that I am needing to overcome. Scripture says that God does not tempt so that leaves satan who is the daily tempter. One reason I have asked this question is because I think people in general totally underestimate the enemy we are up against. In Matt4 satan offered Jesus all the nations of this world, as if they are his to give. In 2Cor 4:4 satan is called the god of this world able to blind minds, as if he controls this world. He is also called the prince of the power of the air, air which is what you and I breathe. I do not believe satan is one to be feared, but one to be challenged with love, a love that he has forgotten, the love that allows even him to exist also. I always try to remember God is love and anything that is not love is not God. Knowing that God is love and anything that is not love is not God, has led me to a feeling of sickness within my heart and soul when I hear that unbelievers are going to hell. Scripture clearly states that satan has blinded minds and caused their unbelief(2Cor 4:4). Since God is love, please tell me where love is found in condemnation of an unbeliever, through the judgement of a believer towards anothers salvation. In other words, who are we to judge? Do we not spread fear and in turn push people away from the Church when we condemn others for their unbelief, instead of searching for the understanding of why they are allowed to have unbelief? Then you also have the true God that has blinded people in the following, Rom 11:7-11 7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded 8(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. 9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompence unto them: 10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. 11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. KJV What do you think? Bless you, Love Fountain |

140 | Where are the people of Dan 11:32 in NT? | Dan 11:32 | Love Fountain | 35211
Dear Benjamite, ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION. Interpreted by premillennialists as the idolatrous image to be set up by the final Antichrist (the "beast," or "man of lawlessness" of 2 Thess 2:3-4) in the restored Temple at Jerusalem in the latter half of Daniel's seventieth week (Dan 9:27; 12:11). For the first part of the three and one-half days (years) of the prophetic week of years, the Antichrist keeps his covenant with the Jews. At the beginning of the last half of the week he breaks it (Zech 11:16-17), compelling the Jews to worship his image. This is "the abomination (idol) of the desolator" or "the idol that causes desolation" (cf. Dan 11:31; 12:11), inaugurating the period of "Jacob's trouble" (Jer 30:7), a time of terrible suffering to Palestinian Jews of the end time, of which our Lord spoke (Matt 24:15). In Dan 11:31 the reference is to the act of Antiochus Epiphanes, prototype of the final Antichrist, who, in June 168 BC desecrated the Temple at Jerusalem. He built an altar to Jupiter Olympus on the altar of burnt offering, dedicated the Temple to this heathen deity, and offered swine's flesh. Premillennialists maintain that neither Antiochus Epiphanes nor the Romans under Titus in A.D. 70 AD exhausted Daniel's prophecy, which still awaits fulfillment. Amillennial interpretation, however, sees a fulfillment in the advance of the Romans against Jerusalem in A.D. 70 AD with their image-crowned standards, which were regarded as idols by the Jews. (From The New Unger's Bible Dictionary. Originally published by Moody Press of Chicago, Illinois. Copyright (c) 1988.) ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION A despicable misuse of the Temple of the Lord during a time of great trouble-an event foretold by the prophet Daniel. The phrase is found in Matt 24:15 and Mark 13:14 as a quotation from Dan 11:31 and 12:11. In Daniel, the words mean "the abomination that makes desolate." In other words, Daniel prophesied that the Temple would be used for an "abominable" purpose at some time in the future. As a result, God's faithful people would no longer worship there-so great would be their moral revulsion, contempt, and abhorrence at the sacrilege-and the Temple would become "desolate." According to the verses in the gospels, a similar misuse of the Temple would take place in the future. This would show that a time of great trouble was coming on Judea. People should take warning and flee to the mountains (Matt 24:16; Mark 13:14). Some believe Daniel's prophecy was fulfilled about 165 BC when Antiochus IV (Epiphanes), Greek ruler of Syria, polluted the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem by sacrificing a pig on the holy altar. This sacrificing of an UNCLEAN pig was the worst kind of abomination that could have taken place. These people also believe the prophecy in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark was fulfilled when the Romans sacked the Jewish Temple about A.D. 70 AD. But others believe just as strongly that neither of these prophecies has yet been completely fulfilled. They insist that the abomination of desolation refers to the idolatrous image or the "man of sin" who will take over God's place in the Temple and make people bow down and worship him (2 Thess 2:3-4). According to this interpretation, this will be the final act of sacrilege that marks the beginning of the end time.
