Ivory313: May I add a welcome to you from the forum. I beleive Matthew 18: 12 to 35. This is thw exact action your body should take. No Pastor or preacher is doing anything for Christ under these circumstances. i am sure there are cluture differences from your place to ours, but the principle is still the same. My heart brakes for you and those who are enduring this pain and shame. I will remember you and how you deal with Gods; wisdom in these matters. agape, justme |

623 | 1 Tim 6:17 | 3 John 1:2 | justme | 57510
GeeVee:Philippiams 4:12. I am not sure how to answer you to be quite honestly. I am not the one whom will be judged by how any one lives but me. So how I see materialsm and prosperity is how I am prepared to answer to the Lord for my way of life. Some of which I won't be to proud to be accountable for. I am of the opinion that materialisn in Pauls day was quite meager compaired to our times. Recently on PBS TV they had FRONTIER HOUSE. They took three families and they lived exactly as the people of 1883. Now compared to the time of Christ these 1883 people had many "modern advances" but life was hard, especially for women! But they had materialism in comparison from Christs time. As I look at how we live today, so much better off than 1883, it is like living in "tommrow land". So the farther we get from the time Paul wrote this, much has changed. Paul learned to live in humble means and in prosperty, learning to suffer, being hungry and filled, and having abubdance and suffering in need. I don't think the meaning of prosperity and materialism that we use today have much in common with the meagerness Paul was thinking when he penned prosperity, or materialism. However I do not live in the conditions Paul did either. Frankly, This is a challange every believer must choose for themself. I consider that in many parts of the world, people live in conditions much as when Paul was alive about 2000 years ago. Go to Mexico City, DF. and within 20 miles I can show you proverty that Christians suffer, yet praise the Lord corn flower, wood for the fire, and plastic for a roof that keeps the rain out. I would agree that there materalistic Christian children working 40 plus hours a week trying to find any usable item for their family. GeeVee, prosperity and materialism has different meanings, to people in many cultures, countries, and with a wide range of income, from just enough to eat, to buying a Ferrari or a Neon. If we as Christians do not evaluate what prosperity, and materialism little will change. For me prosperity and materialism in todays world in the major countries, there is a very small line that devides the two. Several years ago Color TV was materialistic. Today Color TV is prosperity. Less than 30 years ago Microwaye ovens were materalistic, mow thery are prosperity. The closer prosperity comes to materalism in rich countries the further appart prosperty and materialism becomes for third world countries. All one has to do is look where you clothes are made, or even trucks and cars where workers are paid far below our minium wage. However, now that a larhge percent of US workers are with out work, they are now willing to work for much less than some foeign workers! So some foriegn car makers ar blessing us by moving back here! In 1980 18 dollars an hour was a good wage for union carpenters. Now that wage is around 12 dollars an hour. Prosperty, can turn to materialism and then back to proverty. We need to work for things that last in Gods Kingdon. This is just food for thought by one who the LOrd has never let down. agape, justme |

624 | To Prosper or not to Prosper? | 3 John 1:2 | justme | 57391
ITimothy 6:17 gives a good reason to respect what God gives, and how you are responsible for your money. For most what ever they make is not enough. I have found the thrill of the desire to have is far greater, than the actual reality of having gottenthe desired item. I think it's called buyers remorse. The thrill of a new car quickly is gone when the first payment falls due. I think most materialistic things turn out this way. Only that which is given in free love never loses value, or is unsatifactory. Salvation in Christ is a free gift, and never stops giving on and on. agape, justme |

625 | How do u stay pure but have pleasure | Phil 4:8 | justme | 56599
Tiffinay: I think these kind of questions are better aksked to be answered by a mature Christian woman. Perhaps you might ask for responce only from women. Men think differently, and I do not believe you wanted a number of verses just to read. You have a valid question, which I believe you want a practicle answer. Look up at the right of your screenm it says search word(s) type in words that relate to your question, it should help, or restsate your question and ask for female responces only, please. These suggestions might be more help. agape, justme |

Welcome to the Forum! RIP: Wonderfull question. I will answer you with a question, if don't mind. Does it matter to you that you are not baptized? That is the real question. I can tell that baptism is an outward confession of a inward change. Have you come to the point where you have asked Jesus Christ to be your LORD, that means you are making Him boss of your life? I f you answered yes, then yes it definitely does matter, if you want to follow Jesus and His way. RIP, rarely have I seen a proffessing, born again genuine Christian, refuse to be baptized. I suppose it is like having the keys to an expensive new car you have always wanted, and it's yours! But you do not want to go the dealership to pick it up. You own the car, it's yours, but until you get in the car you are not going to go too far. In other words you are saved if you have made Christ Lord. But to grow as a Christian, you must follow your leaders orders. Right? When I was a pastor when the baptism was done I would say, to those who yet had not been baptized "her is water, what stops you from following the Lord Jesus' Command?" That would be the question I would ask of you RIP. I will remember you in prayer. God bless you RIP. agape, justme |

627 | Revival? | Romans | justme | 56024
Parousia: (coming or presence)nice name! Romans 12:2 True "Revival" really is intended, in my opinion, for Christians. To call a set period of meetings intended for "renewal" or reviving the backsldden or carnal Christian is the true meaning of REVIVAL. I think what the churches are trying to do is inaccurate terminology. Perhaps "Operation Outreach" would be more accurate if the purpose is to reach out to the unsaved. That's how I read and understand my Bible. No better example is the Billy Graham Crusades. In fact and deed they are crusades. What do you think about my perception of revival? agape, justme |

628 | On-Line Bible education? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 55785
Gould55: These are just my thoughts about on-line line Bible colleges. There are Seminary classes as well. No matter where you go DO NOT TAKE A CLASS UNLESS YOU GET TEANSFERABLE CREDIT! There are some bible schools that you can spend as much for a non acredited education as a fully acredited institution. So cost may, or may not be the true value of a Bible class. Even with carefull planing a person can lose credits when transfering from one college to another. My belief is Biblical education in a good solid Bible believing college, is an investment that will last you into eternity! My Bible education started when I was 38 and with 4 children and a very wonderfully supportive wife, I went to Grand Canyon University, in Phoenix, AZ, and then to Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, KS. My wife went as well and both got our BA and M Div. degrees. That experience lives in us everyday. No one can ever take away what you learned. God bless you as you make this very wonderfull jorney! agape, justme |

629 | do teachers agree on issue of lost salva | James 3:1 | justme | 55690
Sharonaharris: Often when asked this question, I wonder why are they asking this question. Sometimes, what a person is asking is really what little is required of me to be assured I will make it to heaven. If that's the real question I would say that person has not a clue what salvation is. Hebrews 7:24 to 25. If we have made Christ our LORD (boss) of our lives we are saved completly! John 10:28 says "no one can snatch then out of my hand," Ephesians 1:13 to 14 says "you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession to the praise og His glory" I believe that if you are genuinely born again than you are sealed by Christ's Grace. I also believe that faith that faulters, has a flaw in it from the first. Many famous people have made big brazen statements of being "saved" and people put them in the line light and then they fall flat. Little Richard, famous rock and roll piano player singer is a prime example. The list is very long and sad. Did he lose his salvation? some might say yes. But I would say he was never saved at all. Paul warns us many times not to look back, and warns us not to turn back. I will say there is blackslidden, or carnal Christians. Have they lost their salvation? No, but there is discipline, Hebrews 12:3 to 12 explaines this so perfectly. Now to those who would not agree with me, and they have a genuine way to believe,(I don't agree with)but there is no reason to disfellowship with a fellow believer over this. This very topic has had many of hours spent on this subject in this forum. For more information go to the right upper side type in eternal security over the word SEARCH and you will see a lot more thoughts. agape. justme |

630 | Did Mary and Joseph not know ? | Matthew | justme | 55677
Remodeled: Luke 1:26 to56 is pretty clear Mary knew right away. Matthew 1:18 to 25 says more about Joseph. I am sure as Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, Mary and Joseph had to be confused. Who has ever had a perfect child? Who could imagine having such a child, say nothing about knowing how to parent the SON of the HOLY GOD? For me it is unthinkable to grasp what they went through. I would ponder at things a lot, myself. I believe They knew, but learned more as time went on. That's my thoughts and what I gleam from scripture. What do you think? agape, justme |

631 | isaiah 65:20 ? | Isaiah | justme | 55638
Strongfellow: You picked a real challange with this verse! I went to every Commentary set I have, which is about 6. I read any thing in any of the Study Bibles I had. I found only ONE help. Keil-Delitzsch Old Testament Commentary Volume 7 page 489 to 491. The hard part was remembering what the roman numerals stood for in Chapters for you information it is Chapter LXV. verse XX. "The reference there is to the ultimate destruction of the power of death; here it is merely to the limitation of its power." That my Strongfellow is it in a nutshell. Not much for the effort, I am sorry. If this helps I will be suprised, but It is my best try. agape, justme |

632 | You are a teacher of God's word? Does th | James 3:1 | justme | 55344
Ther Bible is Right: I will answer only for me, as that is for whom I am held accountable to God. Yes! When preparing a message, while I was a pastor, I often struggled to know the will of God in the words I was to preach. I never repeated a sermon! I liked expository preaching because I think that allows more room for the Holy Spirit to speak to hearts. Topical preaching is easier for me. I felt too much of my personal feelings and knowledge of situations in the church might be brought into the message by my own will . For me, I learned to depend on the Holy Spirit to give me direction, rather than my feelings. Yes, I had Godly fear and respect for the responsiblity I was given. I look back at some of my first sermons and see how primative a preacher I was. I did grow and feel I became more sensitive and polished. This happened by the sweat and struggling I went through preparing myself, and the sermon. In my opimion this warning includes, but is not limited preachers, but Sunday School teachers, and anyone giving counseling. agape, justme |

633 | Brand new out of date NASB? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 55157
Gould55: Book stores, especially Christian bookstores have about 4 percent profit margin. When they order some Bible it may sit for sometime before it is sold. There is a likely posibility that the update came out a good time after yours was printed. I am not sure, but I have not seen a Thompson Chain Reference NASB updated version yet. Perhaps Thompson has not yet printed it. I had a simular thing with the Indepth Study Bible in NASB. I got the old thee and Thou one. I was very unhappy. I buy only genuine leather as they are made to last a lifetime. So my ignorance it cost me about 80 dollars. I did get the NASB Study Bible Updated by Zondervan, and I am very pleased! So it is buyer beware. If you have not marked in it you might take it back to the store, and see what they are willing to do. Perhaps even if you have marked in it, if the Bookstore knows you were not fully informed they might out of good will make some adjustment. For me the difference was so much I gave the older translation away. My are we not blessed that we can buy things that some people will never have a chance to own. God Bless. agape, justme |

634 | Are you convinced? | Mark 16:10 | justme | 54770
Ray: I recently heard Hank hanegraaff address this very passage. He said that the oldest manuscripts do not have these verses. However it does not conflict in any way with the three other gospels. It appeared latter in several other newer, now he did not say the amount of years difference there was, but i did not get it. I think these verses show many ways Jesus was trying to reform mmens thinking. Most men still think the wife is subject to obey rather than that the wife is the subject to be the object of our love and attention. Hope this adds something more to think about. agape :-), justme |

BradK: When (I refuse to calle him Rev.)Moon First came to the USA he used very simular tactics. EVERY pastor in the country received a VCR tape and a lot of literature! There were many meetings all over the country! This antiChrist will continue these scams to his dying day. The sad thing is weak unknowledgeable baby, God seekers are plucked like seed on the ground, like ravens tare at the flesh of dead aminals. This movement should encourage every Christian to be more persistant in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ! Thank you for sharing this information. agape, justme |

636 | well then let iron sharpen iron | Matt 24:14 | justme | 54403
christlives1999: I looked at your profile, and Welcome to the Forum! I encourage to say something about your self so we have a better Idea who and what your interests are. Look up mine and others and you will learn more of what you might wantto say. I change mine from time to time to sorta keep it from going stale. Your question in return caused me to do some research. With books all over my desk, I came to the conclusion, that's a good question! I looked at a whole section and not just the verse by it;s self. That way we get a better and wider scope of what's being said. Now at this point I am thinking the HASTENING in 2 Peter 3:12 any include the idea od a time of "refreshing may come from the Lord." The EXPOSITORS BIBLE COMMENTARY by Edwin A. Blum 1981 page 287 by Zondervan Publishing House. Volume 12. After reading that and the NIV, and NASB I would say this is one of these I need further study things. Right now I feel it is refering to hastening the time of repentance, and return to piety. At least that is my inital thinking at present. How do you think? Could this possible mean what I seem to have dug out of it? I am not saying you are wrong at all, I just like to see if there are ways of seeing things in a nother light that no one has ever looked at it that way before. Correction is not a glory to give or receive, but a blessing if new growth tahes place. My Father delights in me quite often. In order to delight is such special attention a greatfull attitude is required of me, which at times I am stubborn. I am interested in ways that others believe certian events must take place for Christ to return My son and I were talking the other day and he had a customer who was pretty off in my theological view point. He was rather confused and he too had the thinking there were things preventing Christ's return. So I wanted to see what others thought about it as well. At this time I see no reason for His return not to take place, except theFathers Mercy and Grace not wanting anyone to perrish. Again, that's how I understand scripture and I would be open to learn as much as my gray matter can hold. agape, Justme |

637 | How did you start your deacon training? | Acts | justme | 54275
Welcome to the Forum DannyKidd! May I ask why you want to be a Deacon? Biblically Acts 6:1 thru 6 Deacons was a servants position of waiting on tables! I believe the Daecons are rnsible for three tables. The Lords Table. The Pastor's and his families table. Finally the poor in their community. I am aware that some churches use Trustees and Deacons. Which is ok but in my opinion not exactly correct. I believe scripture teaches Deacons, Elders, Pastor or Bishop. Most Deacons serve out of a feeling of getting respect and authority. I believe it is a position of serving, and the gift of service is needed. Man or churches man ordain you, but it is God who knows if you are truely a Deacon, Servant at heart. If your home life is not in order, in order I mean where Love is, and you and your wife are a team, then stop at once! Is your lifestyle in your community looked up upon? If not stop now! If your relationship withChrist is not one of walking in faith, which not to many are, get out Now! Ordination is quite serious, I would not wish this burden of service upon anyone, unless they are totally comitted to Christ, and know they are called. I hope you consider what I have said very carefully. agape, justme |

638 | why did god decide to create a woman | Genesis | justme | 54272
Gemesis 2:20 to 25. Adam had no one who was like his flesh, he was alone. Adam was imcomplete, unable to reproduce, Adam could not surive alone. Eve was taken from Adam's rib near his heart. Eve was not taken from adams foot to be walked all over. Eve made Adam complete, able to reproduce their kind, and to be life companions. This was as pure a romance as could be had between a man and a woman. agape, justme |
