581 | Replies to a vulgar comment. | Eph 5:4 | justme | 67178
Tom: For your first visit, this is not a question worth an answer! Tom I have a teenage daughter and two grand daughters 9 and 12. I hope this question you asked gets blocked from general viewing to be very honest. Your question is unacceptable to me and my wife. Surely you could have been creative and changed the wording! This question is not only offensive but plain stupid! May I suggest you reconsider if this forum is truely where you inteded to post such a vulgar question. Normally I open by wlecome to the Forum. However, If this is the knid of language you are used to writing or talk like, this Forum is not for you. Carefully reconsider if you wanted a Christian Forum. If you agree that this question was in the poorest of disgression, then please try once again, with a worth while question, and you will be welcomed, as at least I often do to new forum users.
582 | Did NASA prove Josh 10:13 to be true? | Josh 10:12 | justme | 66677
Barney:As a post script; I remembered a verse that applies to this, I would like to share it with you. Deuteronomy 29:29 " The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law." NASB updated edition. The why and when of the Sun standing still is and most likely will remain one of "The secret things eblong to the Lord our God" and that is sufficant for me. There is more than enough true proveable evidence that we don't have to believe such false rumors. I know you wanted truth. Go forth and tell the Good News! justme |

583 | Did NASA prove Josh 10:13 to be true? | Josh 10:12 | justme | 66650
Barney: I am fully familiar with this FALSE rumor. I worked for J.P.L. NASA at Edwards Airforce Base at Edwards AFB, Calif. from 1980 to 1983. My Dad worked at Ewards AFB for Civil Service with the space program from 1954to 1979. I can positively with 100 percent truth, tell you this is a false rumor! Should you desire more information you can call JPL in Pasadena, CA. and inquire there for more positive proof. These stupid rumors like, Procter and Gamble with the stars being related to witchcraft cost them millions of dollars! Who pays for this added foolish rumors? You and I, us well meaning gullable Christians. The FCC still gets many requests to intervien in the attempt to stop religious broadcasting in a phoney bill that never existed! That was a phoney lie that still pops it's ugly head from time to time, over the last 30 years! Is it any wonder the world thinks Christians are something to laugh at? Thank you for asking, now go forth and ask who ever told you this to prove it. They can not, because it is a lie. justme |

584 | Why Rabbi? | Eph 5:33 | justme | 66563
chris: When I read your note I was in total agreement with you. I was about to mention the same thing to that person until I read your note. I personaly will not address ANYONE by Father or Rabbi, and I am reluctant to call someone PASTOR. or REV. Only the God Almighty has the right to those title of FATHER! Jesus Christ is the one true Rabbi! I often why these titles are used in a forum. Is it to demand respect? Perhaps it is so others will think that with titles it shows spiritual wisdom? We all know Biblical knowledge does not make one spiritual! Nor does a person of prayer need to brag on how God has revield "special revelations". I think you were respectfull and kind, for that is praise worthy. justme |

586 | Why doesn’t God just show himself to tho | Mark 11:22 | justme | 66234
Jmartin: Welcome back to the forum! I see it's been a while from your last visit. Scripture in a number of places declares there is nore than enough evidence in just looking at nature to enlighten anyone. In that alone mankind will be judged for rejecting the Creator, LORD GOD. There is abundant evidence in history to prove that Biblical history is recorded accurately. Our calendar is based on BC (before Christ) that must say something! But regaurdless, for those who do not want to believe, there will never be enough evidence to convince them. Think about this. Either Jesus Christ is who He said He was and is, or this is the biggest scam ever played on mankind, and Jesus was a illegitmate son of Mary, and His death was falsified, and His ressurection is a myth that the whole word still celebrates. Are you willing to bet eternity that Jesus is not the only begotten Son of God? When a person believes in Christ as Lord, and it is a genuine conversion the Holy Spirit comes to our living conscience, or if you want say heart. The Holy Spirit confirms that you are in Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, interceeds for us and teaches us. That is your positive proof! I hope you have asked Christ to be your Lord. How does this seem to you? May God Bless you. justem |

Biblesearcher: Welcome to the Forum. As longas you are a part take a few minuets and fill out something about your self at the Update User Info. This ts a way you can get to know us and us you. You have been given all the verses about neglecting to assembling together. What is more important you will not grow alone. Your faith will remain as an infant, only being able to understand the "milk of the Word". Why settle for milk when prime rib is there? Once out of the habit it will take a real awakening to get you back into fellowship. Others who have been there can tell you it's like living on starvation food for the time you are out of fellowship. I know three years took their toll on me and my family a long time ago. justme |

588 | do not want what belongs to other people | Matt 5:32 | justme | 65129
Sharomawd: If your friend is getting a divorce, then he is still married, right? How can a married man ask someone else to marry him, when he is not free to do so? I can only guess you have known hin long enough to have some affection for him, at least enough to want to marry him. This situation is WRONG, and this is not in the will of the Lord. Scripture in Matthew 5:32 is very clear on this. When you step out of Biblical authority you are headed for Gods discipline. I would suggest you turn and run the other direction. This man needs to work out his problems with his wife! They don't need anyinterference from any other person or a bride in the waiting. You would never be happy in a marriage with someone who thinks so little of his vows. I hope you carefully consider dropping him like a hot pepper. Maybe by leaving him he might just try to work things out with his wife. justme |

welldigger: I think you are pushing the boundries when you just continue to stay on the same subject. This is especially a concern when this thread becomes argumentive rather than dialogue. Do you feel that anyone can change you mind? Do you feel you will change the opinion of anyone elses? Switch to something that is more edifing and worthy of others to join in on. Please. justme |

tlcsal: This is a story preachers have used in what a shepherd will do to save a sheep from dying on a cliff. A good book to read is A SHEPHERD LOOKS AT THE 23rd PSALM. This book goes into great detail on what a shepherd has to do tokeep his sheep healthy and grazing well. justme |

591 | Non-denominational theology? | John 3:16 | justme | 65011
SSprin: Having been in three different Baptist denominations, and now i am in a non-denominational church, I can speak with personal experience. By no case am I an expert on this subject. I believe Hank answered you quite well. I would say the Beliefe in Trinity would also be included in Baptist beliefs. I attend Calvary Chapel, We are non-denominational, or at least that is what we are called. However it is my (and only my) opinion that there is a tie to the first Calvary Chapel which was started by Chuck Smith. There is a map and website for all the Calvary Chapels in the USA. In order for your Pastor to be recognized as a Calvary Chapel Pastor there are requirements. So I see very little difference except we do not send money into a central organization like a mission board or general head office. American Baptist have Valley Forge, PA for insistance. Souther Baptist have Nashville, Ten, as their head general offices. For me I go where I can and grow to be equipped for ministry. I want my family to be challanged to grow in our family life as well. As far as theology goes, non-denominationalism has no theology that I am aware of, that is much different than any other church I have ever been in, mainly three different kinds of Baptist. This is my experience perhaps others would have a very different slant on it. justme |

592 | Overeating, Gluttony, deprivation | 1 John | justme | 65002
Ronald: You are doing a lot of the right things, and thats good. Are you ina a good church with activities? That would be a real help if you are not.I hope you are involved with a Christian counselor who is trained in the area you need help. There is the quiestion Jesus asked several before He healed them. DO YOU WANT TO BE HEALED? This may be a question to ask your self. Eventually it comes down to having will power on your own. That may take help to let yourself develope it. Perhaps finding something that will fill the emotional need you have, that at present you use food to comfort that emotional need. I would deffinately talk this over with your pastor or counselor. I am rembering you in my prayers. justme |

593 | Overeating, Gluttony, deprivation | 1 John | justme | 64952
Ronaldculleton: Welcome to the Forum: You are not alone my friend! I have diabetes my self. I can understand exactly what you have expressed. Not knowing your age, weight or living situation, or marital status makes answering you sorta of a shot in the dark. So I can say what your are experiencing is not uncommon. 1 John 4:4 is a very encouraging verse. Write it in huge letters and put it on your refigerator! Start there. Go to a clinic that deals with Diabetes, and can get you on medication, and a diet training, that is realistic, and allows rewards. This is a very serious situation and I find it very hard to stay away from sweets as well. I have had a long battle with this myself. All the complications that a diabetec face I have seen in others. There have been times that my family and me have faced some difficult times. My children who are thin, all have diatebetec symptoms. They have to control theirs with diet. I take two kinds of medication. I test my blood sugar once a day. I have even dropped to 40 which is very dangerious, often deadly. This is something you need help to learn to manage. Emotions can be a major problem with overeating, which can led to diabetes. Some people have type one and have no control, and type two you have more hope of regulating with a carefull diet. With Christ you can become an overcomer. You really can Here are some things that have helped me. I drink only skim milk, and I now like it! Don't anyone laugh it can be done. I drink only diet soda. I use no sugar, I use Walmarts Value sugar substatute egual. I eat small meals. As directed by the dietition. No one can tell you what works for them will work for you. But common to us all is the fact that we need to be accountable to someone else. We make some foods off limits and my wife only brings home special foods like icecream for something like birthdays. Change takes place one minuet at a time. Then one hour at a time and one meal at a time. Someone once said inch by inch it's a sinch! Yard by yard life is too hard! I will remember you in prayer. Get to a clinic as soon as you can! Start some changes when you read my note. Remember you do have Jesus who is greater than all that can come against you! I will keep you in my prayers. justme |

594 | What did Jesus write in the sand? | John 8:6 | justme | 64941
Piano Jess22: Welcome to the Forum! We have a 1919 Hamilton Player Paino, so your name was nice to see. Please take a moment and tell us something about yourself in the Update User Info. This helps to get to know a little about each other, and aids in answering questions. This is just an idea. In John 8:9 there is says the left one at a time, with the oldest ones first. Finally only Jesus and the woman were there alone. The questions that come to my mind are these. Why was not the man whom she was with brought to Jesus as well? Who made these sinfull men qualified to judge this woman? Do you think the reason the elder men left first was that they knew all to well that they sinners, and age had many sins needing forgiveness? There are many things taking place here, I think. Now as to what Jesus wrote that too has endless possibilities. Perhaps the names of women that some had adultery with, or other sins that would deserve the stoning of others standing there. What ever Jesus wrote it griped the hearts of the men wanting to stone her. This event was showing compassion and love for the unlovely, and the forgiveness of sin. I wonder if this example has had much encouragement for the women and men who have had simular sin in the past ages, and up until Jesus returns. I think so. The message in the sand was so moving that she was able to go and leave her life of sin. This same message is for us today to repent and leave our sin behind. The leters in the sand are less important to know, than what was written above the Cross on which Jesus bled and died for, and rose on the third day for you and me. Think on this. justme |

596 | The soul and the mind | Matt 22:37 | justme | 64315
KiwiDavid; Welcome to the Forum! You have brough to lignt to something I have said several times. Heart, Soul and Mind are, I believe, distink parts (if you will) of our spiritual and physical make up of our personhood. This is called a Tricodomy of the person. At least that is how it was presented in Theology studies in Seminary. However no one has ever told me that they have even heard of this. Most would say we are a spirit that has flesh. I believe it is more than that. I am a learner just like everyone and dialogue is good. What is important is that respect and love for one another is above everything else. I have see dialogue turn to arugement then to dogma, then to you are not saved unless you believe as I do. That is not healthy and no one changes their view point, and no one has won. I like the way you present your thoughts. Please take a moment and fill out the Update User Info. Tell us something about yourself. This is one way we get to know what God is or has done in your life. Thanks, and have a blessed day. justme |

597 | first new testament book and author | James | justme | 63997
Deaconjohn: Of course when we look at the New Testament Matthew is the first book we open to, I am sure that is no supprise. However, in seminary I was taught that Mark was the first book written, most likely in early 50 AD or as late as 70AD. Many Biblical schollars think Matthew and Luke used Mark as source for their books. There is stilla beliefe by some that believe a source called "Q" for Quallie, was a source that was used by all four writers of the gospels. I personally do not subscribe to that theory. Should you want to dig further into this consider going to a near by seminary or Christian bookstore that has graduate level research materials. The study is really fasinating, and who knows you might really enjoy the research. I hope this helps. justme |

598 | Confronting forgiveness | James | justme | 63993
Statrn44: Welcome to the Forum! I am glad to you have become a Christian. I hope you are in a church and have followed our Lords command to be Baptized. I am pleased that you are a brother in Christ. The most important issue is what is the Holy Spirit directing you to do? What I say really is insignificant if you feel the Spirit leading you differently. I would ask did you anything that he should forgive you for? Perhaps your anger, when you vented on the landlord was wrong? I really do not know what you wrote. I would consider, if you feel so directed, contact the landlord and set the record streight if you were unfair in your letter. You might just let it pass and continue to be friendly, and see how it goes from here on. Be wise, if this person was a problem before, has he changed to where you feel you can trust him? The Bible tells us to be wise. Pray for wisdon, in James 1:5 there it promises wisdom for those who lack wisdom. I hope you become a part of this forum and God Bless you! justme |

599 | next step..? | Eph 5:31 | justme | 63836
fle: Bornagain, was not saying that you have not sinned! Yes you have joined yourselves in the flesh, which Paul in 1 Corinthians 6:15 to 20 is very specficly, goes totally against your assumption. As I said in a note to you earlier, if you are both born agin, then you have no other option than the stop sexual activity and confess your sin, and wait until you marry. Yes you have experienced the sexual joy of marriage, but with the guilt and emptiness of no comittment. That is pure and simple immorality. Oh I am sure this is a battle, but give this to the Lord and God can work this out in a honorable way, that will restore your relationship with Him and yourselves. I will pray for wisdom for you both. justme |

600 | inmorality also if the couple will marry | Eph 5:31 | justme | 63834
fle: Welcome to the Forum! The question you ask is one which a lot of people really don't know. I admire you honesty and sincerity. How else can you know if you don't ask? I read your note to be that you both have agreed you want to get married. What happens if either of you changes your mind? Does that not make you both immoral? In such a case you both walk away being used, and useing each other. You both have given your verginity away. Should not verginity be saved for the one you will marry? There are no guarantees of a marriage until the wedding has taken place. More than one wedding has ended with only one standing waiting for their beloved to come, only to be left betrayed. That is why after the vows or covenant between to husband and wife, are truly bound only after consumation, that is not only legal but moral. The old testament required sever punishment for sex outside of marriage, death! The New Testament in 1 Corinthians 6:13 to 20, 1 Corinthains 7:2 that its better to marry than bury with lust. Ehesians 5:3, and 1 Thessalonians 4:13. are just a few of many verses that say sex before marriage is immorality. Marriage partners who have sex before marriage have a much greater percentage of divorce than those that do not. This has a deep emotional impact on the woman in years to come. That fact is not just for christians. So you may say we all ready have had sex, what do we do? Stop now. Confess you sin 1 John 1:9 and agree to wait untill you are married. That friend will be a real ture test of love. As a father of three daughters I would ask where is the ring, when is the wedding date. That is after he asked my wife and my permission to marry our daughter. Old fashion? Not at all. You can never go wrong with respect and honesty. Remember these are her parents, you future inlaws, and you will need all the emotional support you can get, to make a marriage work! I pray you will take serious the actions you make from this point on. You can not plead ignorance now. God show you the way. justme |
