61 | What is blocking us from God's love? | Rom 8:39 | New Creature | 181342
Then why does Scripture say; John 15:9 Remain in My love. Joh 15:10 If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, Jude 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of God, and Isa 59:2 but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, so that he will not hear. |

62 | What translation do you prefer and why? | Heb 6:6 | New Creature | 181136
CBDJ First of all. Adding the word "if" to Heb. 6:6 doesn't add clarity to the verse (in my opinion) Second of all, if you followed the origination of this thread, you would understand that this thread isn't a debate on eternal security. The thread actually is about which translation of the Bible one prefers and why. Blessings NC |

63 | 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 WHO? | 2 Thess 2:7 | New Creature | 181101
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, THAT HE MAY BE WITH YOU FOR EVER, Who does "you" refer to? Believers Right? 2 Th 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only there is one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way. The above verse doesn't say the Holy Spirit will not remain with believers forever. 2 Th 2:7, if it refers to the Holy Spirit, is merely saying that he, the "restrainer" who holds back evil will be taken out of the way of holding back evil. It doesn't say he will be taken away or removed from those who believe. Once again, I don't see what John 14:16 has to do with 2 Th 2:7 Here is another translations wording of 2 Th 2:7 For the secret of this lawlessness is already at work, but only until the person now holding it back gets out of the way. 64 | Verses That Point to No Races? | Bible general Archive 3 | New Creature | 181099
Acts 17:26 ISV From one man he made every nation of humanity to live all over the earth, fixing the seasons of the year and the boundaries they live in, All humanity originates from Adam the first man. We all have the same first parents Adam and Eve. The whole human race, not races came from those two. |

66 | 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 WHO? | 2 Thess 2:7 | New Creature | 181078
Cuddle Once again, I don't see how John 14:16 relates in any way to 2 Thess 2:7 The indentity of the "restrainer" is something I am still looking at. Blessings NC |

67 | Racial Marriage, is it okay or not? | Bible general Archive 3 | New Creature | 181077
Actually there is only one race of people, and that is the human race. Red, yellow, black, or white, they are all precious in God's sight. Once again the only restrictions I see in Scripture is that believers shouldn't marry unbelievers |

68 | Racial Marriage, yes or no | Bible general Archive 3 | New Creature | 181065
Hi Rancan From my current understanding of Scripture, there are no restrictions against marrying across races. Boaz a Hebrew married Ruth the Moabite, through whom came King David and Jesus our Lord and Savior The only restrictions in marriage I see is that believers shouldn't marry unbelievers Blessings NC |

69 | What translation do you prefer and why? | Heb 6:6 | New Creature | 181062
kalos I don't care to play dueling versions, I just gave you an example of a pre-KJV, pre-Geneva Bible which omits the word "if" If my desire was to prove "if" shouldn't be included in the wording of Heb. 6:6, I would take you to a Greek word study, which proves that any translation using the word "if" is doing so without any warrant from the Greek. 70 | What translation do you prefer and why? | Heb 6:6 | New Creature | 181060
Doc This whole thread originated when Cuddle ask the question: "Which translation do you prefer and why. She also asked for a comparrison example why one prefers one translation over another. At that time I told Cuddle, my preferred translation was the NASB, and the I simply happened to use Heb 6:6 as a comparrison example. I did not want, and still don't want to turn this into a debate about perseverance of the saints, since that wasn't the intent of the original post. Blessings NC |

73 | What translation do you prefer and why? | Heb 6:6 | New Creature | 181030
"And having fallen away." I can express my own mind on this translation nearly in the words of Dr. Macknight: "The participles who were enlightened, have tasted, and were made partakers, being aorists, are properly rendered by our translators in the past time; wherefore parapesontas, being an aorist, ought likewise to have been translated in the past time, ‘HAVE fallen away.’ Nevertheless, our translators, following …… Calvin’s successor Theodore Beza, who without any authority from ancient MSS. has inserted in his version the word ‘if,’ have rendered this clause, IF they fall away, that this text might not appear to contradict the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints. But as no translator should take upon him to add to or alter the Scriptures, for the sake of any favorite doctrine, I have translated parapesontas in the past time, ‘have fallen away,’ according to the true import of the word, as standing in connection with the other aorists in the preceding verses" (Adam Clarke) |

CDBJ I don't want to address the topic of Eternal Security. My post merely is an attempt to show that there is no warrant for inserting the word "if" into Heb. 6:6. You can do a Greek word study and check it out for yourself, and you will see that this is true. Blessings NC |

79 | 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 WHO? | 2 Thess 2:7 | New Creature | 181024
Cuddle What if the rapture were to come today, and all those believers in whom the Holy Spirit currently indwells were taken out of this world? Would not the restraint of evil be removed from this world at the same time. In that sense the Holy Spirit truly is with us forever. He is with us, but not with the world in such a instance. 2 Thess 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only there is one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way.
