61 | More on submissiveness | Eph 5:22 | InGodITrust | 189749
eileen8, As much as is possible, submission in the New Testament refers to those "equally yoked." To try to answer your question would be too vague and would not address the problem you mentioned earlier. Submission to a non believing spouse (I assume since you said he is alcoholic) would entale all scriptures except where he would ask or expect you to violate Biblical principals. Those of course would be too involved to answer here. If you can please be more specific. On the Forum we do not generally give personal advise as this is highly unwise without knowing all the facts. Then again you would get such a wide range of answers you'd be more confused than ever. Kind of like my many answers to tonights questions............!!! God's grace to you eileen8 InGodITrust |

62 | OT men how did they get saved? | OT general | InGodITrust | 189746
Greetings lindah, By believing in the One true God, the One and only. Not necessarily by keeping all the Torah, (Old Testament Law) The law cannot and never has saved anyone. By true belief in Jehovah God, they went to their graves and when Jesus died on the cross He desended into Sheol testifying to them that He was indeed the Messiah. They then assended with Him into the Heaven where God the Father resides. Before the cross, there was two places of the departed dead. One was Abraham's bosom the other Hades. Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus? Luke 16:19; if not look it up. Gotta go, InGodITrust |

63 | True Sabbath | Matt 28:1 | InGodITrust | 189744
Hello seeking_truth, Yes, the Sabbath is from Friday at 6pm until Saturday at 6pm. The Messianic Jews still feel it necessary to honor the Lord's Day as Saturday. Mainly, this is because of tradition and the fact it is "a Jewish law" from the Old Testament as they are the chosen Nation. However, New Testament Christians began meeting on the "first day of the week" in honor of Christ's resurection. Okeedookie........? InGodITrust |

64 | The APOCALYPSE CODE. | Bible general Archive 3 | InGodITrust | 189742
Hello again justme, Guess I am here tonight, been busy for a while. My opinion, OK, here goes. Hank Hanegraaff has many issues of which I thoroughly disagree. Frankly, I would not use his writings for toilet paper. He has gone against the grain, thrown out dispensationalism (the Biblically balanced one that is) Been extremely critical (over and above) the Pentecostals (of which I am not one but has thrown them all in the rubbish heap.) While many Pentecostals hold to scriptures that are out of balance they are wonderful and God fearing folks. Enough said, I know I am in a lot of trouble now as I have "stuck my neck way out tonight." God bless ya one and all, InGodITrust |

65 | Why the NKJV over the NASB ? | Bible general Archive 3 | InGodITrust | 189740
Hay there justme, Very good question, one of which I am not at all shy about answering. Tradition, tradition, tradition!!! I have studied Greek for some years now. When I first started studying it I notices that my KJV had many adjectives and prepositions "wrong." I am told, been years, that King James was very fond of the Catholic Priestly system and the Pope's ultimate authority over the people. If you study history King James was anything but a nice guy! I have read that the scholars who translated the KJV were well aware of this issue. Personally I have confirmed that the priesthood of the believer was specifically watered down to appease the King. Frankly I believe this as the prepostions preceeding the priestly issues (and numerous others as well, by my own personal experience) were changed to lesson the Biblical fact of our individual priesthood. The NASB and the AMP were specifically translated to be as accurate to the Greek as possible. Through many many Greek studies I have found very few times were the Lockman Foundation could have done a better job. Of all the Greek scholars I know "they all use the NASB and the AMP. Now, the controversy has really got going as there undoubtably will been numerous responses to my post. Good for you, the NASB and the AMP, although not as popular are the very best translations as far as popularity goes. I have never understood, nor will I ever, why anyone would chose to use a translation that does not give "the exact thought (as much as possible)to the original languages. Greek is not readily translatable into English nor is any other language. The very reason English speakers are so ignorant about many Biblical issues is the language barrier and the enormous depth of the Greek. God bless ya........ InGodITrust |

66 | Help for Christian Wife of Alchoholic | 1 Cor 16:14 | InGodITrust | 189733
Dear eileen8, God richly bless you, I can only imagine what you are going through. My first response is "love knows no bounds, has no limits, for Christ's sake forgives and forgives. However, I do not know all you are going through. There may be a Christian web site but it has been my experience that so much advise is not Biblical. I know this sounds self serving but please see my personal profile. I have just published a book on Agape-Love which will answer many of your questions. Tough love must at all times be Biblically tough love. If it is unbearable and you feel God is absolutely telling you so then a conditional seperation could be the answer. Never lock the door nor turn out the light. If you must give him an ultimatum then make sure he understands "the decision is up to him." He can come back or you will return "it's up to him." Always leave the door open and the light on. Hope this helps. God grant you the wisdom and strength to see it through. Remember love, Biblical love, always hopes the best, seeks the best, and anxiously looks for a restoration, no matter what. InGodITrust |

Greetings bill 1973, Or, is it dhill1? You addressed your response to bill but it came to me. The question was "does the Bible say anything (specifically) about Islam. The answer is no it does not. Thank you for the input though. Colossians 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. InGodITrust |

68 | Israel and worship of other gods | Deut 11:16 | InGodITrust | 189530
Tuggy, Good evening to you. Most of the time other religions had sexual orgies, drunkedness, and wild goin's on.... The true God, ours, is the only one who can read your thoughts and the intents of the heart. Other gods cannot so there is nothing to hinder one from participating. God's Day to you, InGodITrust |

owassoconnie, Good day to you. To find the setting go to John 13:1 This is one of several "farewell speaches" as Jesus knew His hour had come and Judas was about to betray Him leading to His arrest. Go ahead and start at John 13:1; follow the story and context and if you have further questions please let us know. "Jesus knowing His hour had come....." InGodITrust |

72 | Scripture reference to forgive self | 1 Pet 5:6 | InGodITrust | 189421
PatS. Very good question, one that does not specifically have a Scriptural reference. One can not forgive themselves as this is God's position through Christ Jesus. However, to not realize that all sins are forgiven positionally through Christ is the question. There are times when we have sinned and its effects have hurt those we love, then it is a matter of conscience that we "can't forgive ourselves." We simply need to humble ourselves and realize that we each will continue to sin and that we must face up to our failures. Not to forgive ourselves is, in a sense, a slap at God's grace and a "reverse" of, you will, of pride. Hope this helps, InGodITrust |

bill1973, Jesus said "I am the way, truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." John 14:6 The Bible does not address Islam particularly as this and all others are simply false religions. Question answered? InGodITrust |

kujur, Excellent question and one that many have asked. You are both right and wrong. God bless you though for looking at Scripture "literally." Both Adam and Eve did die that day. They died spiritually and not physically. Hope this answers your question, keep up the pursuit.... InGodITrust |

77 | Wandering in the Desert | Exodus | InGodITrust | 189305
chaplin, I know the feeling. Those who are earnestly trying to serve the Lord, I'm convinced, will have many desert experiences. The pie in the sky theology of today leaves many of us thinking that we have missed God somehow. Anyone who reads through the Bible will find out God's choicest servants "were not on easy street." If we can be of any more help feel free to let us know. There are many folks on the Forum "who have been there and done that." "I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and justice for the poor. Surely the righteous will give thanks to Thy name; the upright will dwell in Thy presence." Psalm 140:12,13 May God richly bless you brother chaplin, InGodITrust |
