101 | Comforting verse for non-believers | Psalm | InGodITrust | 189112
Azure, So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I truly understand your heart felt desire to comfort the family. At the moment, if the entire family are not Christians,"what can you say?" I lost my wife May 6th and most of her (Teena) family think they know God but do not. All I could do was tell them "why" I KNOW Teena is in heaven with God and lovingly say, "I know she wants you there as anyone can who has Jesus Christ in their heart." Frankly, I don't know what you could say. Surely you don't want to tell them to get saved as this would imply that your friend was not. Perhaps one of our forum regulars who have been in the position to deal with this will respond. I have been in the ministry but have never had to "find an answer" for your delema. God's speed, InGodITrust |

102 | Israelites first going to Heaven | Psalm | InGodITrust | 189109
Lupuschick, Good afternoon, Here's what I found on the web; Question: I was recently asked the question about the promise of Heaven. They asked is there any place in the Old Testament that mentions the promise of Heaven? Did the patriarchs even consider such a hope? The only thing that I thought of was Jobs statement in Job 14:14 - "If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come." (KJV) If you or any one else can help me with this question I would be grateful. Response: There is not a lot in the Old Testament about heaven except to say that it is the abode of God. When someone died in the Old Testament he went to Sheol, the heart of the earth. When Samuel appeared to Saul, we see him coming up out of the earth (1 Sam. 28:12-15). Even when Jesus died he went to the heart of the earth (Matt. 12:40: Acts 2:27; Rom. 10:7; Eph. 4:9; 1 Peter 3:18-19). It seems that Sheol (aka the Underworld, Abyss, Deep, Hades) was compartmentalized into a place of torment and a place of comfort according to our Lord's story of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). My belief is that a believer could not go directly into the presence of God until Jesus actually paid for the sins of the world in time. However, now when a believer dies he goes directly to be with the Lord (Acts 7:59; 2 Cor. 5:8; Phi. 1:20-23). There are a few allusions and several clear references to a resurrection in the Old Testament (Job 14:7-15; 19:26; Psa. 16:9-11; 49:14-15; 73:23-26 Isa. 25:8; 53:12 and especially Isa. 26:19; Dan. 12:2, 13; Hos. 13:14), but the Old Testament does not say much about what was expected afterwards. However we do read in the New Testament that Abraham "looked for a city . . . . whose builder and maker is God" (Heb. 11:10). I understand this to refer to the New Jerusalem (Rev. 3:12; 21:2 also John 14:1-3), which is the ultimate dwelling place of the child of God, or what we would call "heaven." http://www.apostolic.net/biblicalstudies/otheaven.htm Hope this helps, InGodITrust |

103 | to be in Gods presence | Ps 16:11 | InGodITrust | 189083
BJMAY, I would have to do some research.....very good question!!! "In Thy presence is fulness of joy.In Thy right hand there are pleasures forever." For Thou dost make him most blessed forever; Thou dost make him joyful with gladness in Thy presence. Psalm 21:6 Hope this gets you started. Do you have a reference Bible? If you do just follow the reference off of Psalm 16:11 Blessings, InGodITrust |

104 | Who are the "sons of God" in Genesis 6? | Gen 6:2 | InGodITrust | 189070
John, God loves you and so do I; greetings my friend. I took the easy way out and responded with "the traditionl answer." In times past I had looked into this controversial issue and felt satisfied with the over all argument. It's my understanding that, at times, the Bible refers to "the sons of God," as His creations before the fall of Satan and those that followed him. Without going to (all the trouble) restudy this subject I will just let whomever follow up with their observations................Okeedokee?? God bless ya my friend, InGodITrust |

105 | Who are the "sons of God" in Genesis 6? | Gen 6:2 | InGodITrust | 189064
Buzzard86, Blessing Buzzard, The most accepted answer to that question is fallen angels that occupied human bodies. These would be of those who followed Satan in the initial rebellion. One third of the angelic beings fell along with Satan. God bless, InGodITrust |

110 | Is it a sin to be cremated after you die | Psalm | InGodITrust | 189043
cheruboverme, Well I certainly hope not. I just lost my wife of 20years and we decided to cremate. Couldn't decide whether to bury her in Oklahoma or here in Colorado. Her family is in Oklahoma and myself, 2 sons, her daughter and family in Colorado. So, what do we do? Oklahoma means we would have to drive 450 miles to see her. Colorado means they would have the same distance. We opted for cremation and brought her home. Any family member who would like to have some of her ashes in a special urn or whatever can have her with them where ever they are. It may seem gross to some but my wife and my sons Mother "is sitting on the coffee table." There is no Biblical position whatever. When the resurrection occurs God will put them in their new body no matter what the condition. The body is just a store house while here on earth. Hope this helps, God bless, InGodITrust |

111 | Are they......"was"....or...."is?" | 2 Cor 5:8 | InGodITrust | 188763
Cheri, Well Ok, "you take the heat!"..... The Name Above Every Name Jesus is the Light of men He’ll forgive you of your sin. God’s Word says He’s the Chosen One, On the cross His work was done. He’s Master, Teacher, and our Brother, What He’s done could be so by no other. He’s the Savior from our sin, By all of those who ask Him in. He’s our Shepherd and our Guide, If in our heart he does abide. He’s the Dayspring and Cleanser of sin, Wonderful Counselor has always been. As our Vine and Bridegroom Thee, It remains a mystery what we shall be. As God’s Beloved and Chosen One, The Anointed and only Son. As our Rock and purist Lamb, By His blood we’ll not be damned. Lord of Heaven, Son of God, Satan defeated by His rod. He’s the Savior of the world, From our life is Satan hurled. The Emmanuel and Holy One, Salvation only by the Son. We the branch and He the Vine, To love each other “is the sign.” Messiah the Prince and King of the Jews, Be it life and God, or the world we choose? The Bread of Life and our Governor be, His love and mercy all eternity to see. Lord of lords and God of gods, Let’s bow our heads in humble nods. By Rick InGodITrust |

112 | Are they......"was"....or...."is?" | 2 Cor 5:8 | InGodITrust | 188735
Friends on the Forum, I thought many of you would be enlighted by some recent thoughts I have had due to my recent loss. Please understand I only post this to help others understand what one goes through when loosing their mate. I think this copy of an e-mail to a friend on the forum is beneficial. I pray with all my heart that my loss will be used for the glory of God and helpful to others. So........here goes..... Glad you liked it. Tell me, sounds like you are a single mom with one child? I am 59 with two sons at home from my marriage with Teena. Which is easier, girls or boys? Are you kidding, I partially raised two girls, they were adorable.....wonderful.......amazing........Boys? They are.......boys!!!!.........both so much like their mother and yet full of it just like their dad!!! They both were...(are)... exceptionally close to their mom. My youngest Daren just calls her mom;(my oldest son Derek most ofton referred to her as Maa'dray) notice I talk in the present not the past tense. For the most part, as a Christian, our loved ones who have graduated, are still in the present tense. My wife may have "gone home" but she is still their mom and my wife. You can't imagine how repeatedly I have to talk about her or deal with legal and business issues over and over. They say, "what was her name;" I reply, "her name.....is......Teena." She is not a...was...she is a...is." Now, she "was" here on earth but for all practical purposes, especially since now with God and an eternal "person" she is "away at the moment" but all of her will continue to be "eternally in the present tense." Please don't misunderstand as I am not angry or frustrated but Christians now with Christ are eternally present and not past..............wow.........good thought right? Blessing, Rick InGodITrust |

113 | Where or where is CDBJ? | Bible general Archive 3 | InGodITrust | 188706
CDBJ, Oh dear brother, I indeed sensed that you too faced a great loss. As you and I both now know, no words on earth can express the grief and sorrow that one experiences with the loss of their mate. And, especially I do believe, the loss of a godly and devoted spouse that you shared God's love and wisdom with. My dear friend, I ask you, "how do we go on without them?" I know God will and does provide and yet the very thought is unthinkable and unimaginable. Much, in a sense I would say, how the disiples must have felt when they put Jesus in the tomb. Thank you so much, you have truly blessed my heart and I sincerely hope you and I will continue a deepening friendship, InGodITrust |

John, My sincerest appology. I am InGodITrust and used to use Psalm 25 when I first came on the forum. Honestly, I was ashamed of how I responded to some questions. My responses were ungodly and self-righteous. I was going through some tough times of unemployment and watching my wife go to work day after day with an injured shoulder. I am not excusing my behavior but I thought it would be better to change my forum name from Psalm 25 to InGodITrust....... I had no intention of being deceptive....... I simply wanted "to start over, afresh. Please forgive me......... The reason I logged in under Psalm 25 was to try to find the profile of CDBJ, thinking perhaps he had corresponded with me under that name. I prayerful hope you understand........ Whatever I need to do let me know. I will gladly give you my personal e-mail address to further explain or apologize as I have already e-mail skccab Again, I am so sorry to misled those on the forum. 118 | Can the devil tune in to our thoughts? | Bible general Archive 3 | InGodITrust | 188650
Stjohn, Thank you brother. Nothing, absolutely, is more comfort than God's love and the love of the brethern (and sister-in) We all feel, I'm sure, that God seems so distant especially in the "dark days," but it is then that His light shines the brightest. Oh yes, we all mouth those words, and I am sure sincerely. But when tragedy strikes and our guts pour out, sorrow beyond sorrows, unimaginable pain, beyond all the words of the World's languages, it is then, "God is there like never before." No words can describe what a father, age 59, with two sons who adored their mother beyond mere words, is experiencing. Even though I have walked and talked with God for 40 years there is no more forsaken (though momentarily) and desperate experience than to lose you partner and "soul mate." Of all on God's green earth she was indeed spectacular. Beyond words, the most loving and giving and unselfish person I have ever known by far. That is what makes it so hard. She was as close to Christ-like love I have ever known. God's gain and the World's loss. And I thought God had enough angels and saints in heaven already............guess not.....sure wish He would lend her back to me for a bit longer. Thank you one and all, InGodITrust |

119 | Can the devil tune in to our thoughts? | Bible general Archive 3 | InGodITrust | 188648
Cheri, Thank you, one of my favorite songs. My hope and prayer is to take "all of life's sorrows" and use them to encourage others. Isn't this exactly what Jesus and then later the apostles did? "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and He will add all things unto you. Therefore, take no thought for tomarrow, for tomarrow will care for itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own." Matthew 6:33,34 "In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Love you all..... InGodITrust |

St.John, God bless and thank you so much. Yes, so far my strength in the Lord is "unbelievable." To God be the credit and glory, I assure you, it is a miracle of God as "only He could do." It is so unthinkable and unimaginable as my wife Teena was literally "irreplacable." By the way, all my dear friends in Christ on the forum, in a bit of humor, don't ever say to the Lord, "God, I am no Job, no even in the same galaxy as Job." I have said this over the years in times of desperation. Not that God would or will but that is one prayer I could wish unsaid! The Lord has never left me nor forsaken me in my past trials and sorrows and I continue to hope and pray that I will continue steadfast....... God Bless InGodITrust |
