101 | Does anyone have any notes on Isa 44:4? | Is 44:4 | InGodITrust | 190914
Joanna, Here's what I found on the "Easton's Bible Dictionary web site: Isaiah 44:4 Cross References XREF: Leviticus 23:40 'Now on the first day you shall take for yourselves the foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days. Job 40:22 "The lotus plants cover him with shade; The willows of the brook surround him. (NASB ©1995) Commentaries and Concordances GSB: 44:4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses. (d) That is, your children and posterity will increase wonderfully after their deliverance from Babylon. MHC: 44:1-8 Israel is here called Jeshurun, which means the upright one. Such only are Israelites indeed, in whom is no guile. Those that serve God he will own. He will help them over difficulties, and in their services. Water is the emblem of the Holy Spirit; as water refreshes, cleanses, and makes the earth fruitful, so do his influences the soul. This gift of the Holy Ghost is the great blessing, the plentiful pouring out of which God kept for the latter days. Where God gives his Spirit, he will give all other blessings. Hereby shall be a great increase of the church; thus it shall be spread to distant places. Was there any other Rock, or Protector, that could defend them? None besides could foretell these things to come, of which God by his prophets gave notice. All was set in order in the Divine predictions, as well as in the Divine purposes. Could any other have done so? Who can compare with Israel's Redeemer and King? InGodITrust |

104 | what are the names of Jesus' sisters? | Matthew | InGodITrust | 187973
rccola, Greeting In Christ, Here's what I know: Question: "Did Jesus have brothers and sisters (siblings)?" Answer: Jesus’ brothers are mentioned in several Bible verses. Matthew 12:46, Luke 8:19, and Mark 3:31 say that Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see Him. The Bible tells us that Jesus had four brothers: James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas (Matthew 13:55). The Bible also tells us that Jesus had sisters, but they are not named or numbered (Matthew 13:56). In John 7:1-10, His brothers go on to the festival while Jesus stays behind. In Acts 1:14, His brothers and mother are described as praying with the disciples. Later, in Galatians 1:19, it mentions that James was Jesus’ brother. The most natural conclusion of these passages is to interpret that Jesus had actual blood siblings. http://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-siblings.html Blessings, InGodITrust |

108 | True Sabbath | Matt 28:1 | InGodITrust | 189744
Hello seeking_truth, Yes, the Sabbath is from Friday at 6pm until Saturday at 6pm. The Messianic Jews still feel it necessary to honor the Lord's Day as Saturday. Mainly, this is because of tradition and the fact it is "a Jewish law" from the Old Testament as they are the chosen Nation. However, New Testament Christians began meeting on the "first day of the week" in honor of Christ's resurection. Okeedookie........? InGodITrust |

110 | Searching for the truth | John | InGodITrust | 190020
Fytrobert, Good question..... Jesus is not requiring a specfic name but rather "a specific acknowledgement." In order to have reseptive prayers basically, there are two requirments. One, what John 14:14 is seeking is "do you believe Jesus is the Son of God, the One and only?" And the One and only direct link to God the Father? Two, "Whatever we ask must be according to His will and purpose, not necessarily ours." Question answered? InGodITrust |

Thank you for the input though. Colossians 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. InGodITrust |

Go ahead and start at John 13:1; follow the story and context and if you have further questions please let us know. "Jesus knowing His hour had come....." InGodITrust |

116 | Why do they kill Stephen but said unlawf | Acts | InGodITrust | 187942
Yowege, The trial of Jesus took place during a Sabbath, the stoning of Stephen was (most likely) not during a Sabbath. That may be only part of the scenerio but it's what comes to mind. This was in accord with Lev. 24:14. However, they were required to get the Romans approval (it's doubtful they did) and may have given him "a mock trial." God's speed. InGodITrust |

118 | judas's field of blood. ref. to acts | Acts 1:18 | InGodITrust | 189236
justsomebody, Here's what I found; Field of Blood Hakeldama, the Field of Blood where Judas hung himself. Called at present "Hak ed-damm," it signifies "Field of Blood" (Matt 27:8; Acts 1:18-19), now at the E end and on the southern slope of the valley of Hinnom. The tradition that fixes this spot reaches back to the age of Jerome. Once the tradition was that the soil of this spot, a deep pit or cellar, was believed to have the power of consuming dead bodies in the space of twenty-four hours, so that whole shiploads of it are said to have been carried away in A.D. 1218 AD, in order to cover the famous Campo Santo in Pisa. Acts 1:18-19 "Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out. And it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem; so that field is called in their own language, Akel Dama, that is, Field of Blood."
