82 | Wandering in the Desert | Exodus | InGodITrust | 189305
chaplin, I know the feeling. Those who are earnestly trying to serve the Lord, I'm convinced, will have many desert experiences. The pie in the sky theology of today leaves many of us thinking that we have missed God somehow. Anyone who reads through the Bible will find out God's choicest servants "were not on easy street." If we can be of any more help feel free to let us know. There are many folks on the Forum "who have been there and done that." "I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and justice for the poor. Surely the righteous will give thanks to Thy name; the upright will dwell in Thy presence." Psalm 140:12,13 May God richly bless you brother chaplin, InGodITrust |

84 | significance of 4 requests specifically | Ex 12:11 | InGodITrust | 188030
Jellybean66, You have posted a very interesting question which may result in numerous answers. Since this is the passover and God usually includes "some clues for the future," it could be several "pictures." The death angel is coming, he will "passover those under the blood." I think, in a sense, it is a picture of when God will take the righteous out of this world "in the blink of an eye." Hurry, make haste, be prepared for God is coming." "It is the Lord's passover." Let's see who and what the others on the forum think? God bless, InGodITrust |

86 | significance of 4 requests specifically | Ex 12:11 | InGodITrust | 188038
Searcher, Just my point Searcher, "as fully prepared for a journey." These are just my thoughts, the scriptures are full of prophetic pictures. I am very careful with these. Do you think what I said is "out of sync with prophecy or otherwise?" Eager to hear from you....... InGodITrust |

87 | significance of 4 requests specifically | Ex 12:11 | InGodITrust | 188042
Searcher, It was just a thought; I see a picture there, I stated it was not "an interpretation," just a thought I was sharing with skccab. There are many such beautiful prophetic pictures throughout scripture. I am not trying to be doctrinal, just sharing. Blessings, InGodITrust |

The true God, ours, is the only one who can read your thoughts and the intents of the heart. Other gods cannot so there is nothing to hinder one from participating. God's Day to you, InGodITrust |

91 | love wanderful | 2 Sam 1:26 | InGodITrust | 187930
Qhycrme1, Are you familiar with the relationship between David and Jonathan? Jonathan was King Saul's son and had stuck by David while his father King Saul was out to kill David. Jonathn risked his own life time after time by his loyal love for David. There was never anything remotely inappropriate about their relationship. This is in no way a down cast upon women. It was simply a statement that tried to explain David's tremendous respect and love for all that Jonathan had done. You see, normally, Jonathan would have been in line for the throne, but God had appointed David as the next King. Just think about what kind of man Jonathan must have been by being loyal to whom God appointed! Does this answer your question? In our Lord, InGodITrust |

92 | if he is cursing 'cause the Lord said to | 2 Sam 16:1 | InGodITrust | 191121
Everyoneisjedidiah, Very good question. One that would be very puzzling indeed in King James, or whatever, unless one has a Bible with commentary in the margins. This is an excellent example of David's humility and genuine heart of God. Whenever we are assaulted wrongly and show grace and kindness, as well as forgiveness we are demonstrating the very heart of God. They call it Agape Love..... David the King had absolute power. Most Kings I assure you would have had the man executed on the spot with full authority and no one would question the King. Not only that they would have condoned it completely. David, fully aware of his own personal sins, humbled himself to the very idea that God may indeed be speaking through this man Shimei. What a beautiful picture of Christ Himself. Though wrongly accused, just as Jesus was, he uttered no threats, had all power, and suffered a wrong without the thought of retaliation. God bless you for bring to our attention a magnificent example to the body of Christ. InGodITrust |

95 | Is it a sin to be cremated after you die | Psalm | InGodITrust | 189043
cheruboverme, Well I certainly hope not. I just lost my wife of 20years and we decided to cremate. Couldn't decide whether to bury her in Oklahoma or here in Colorado. Her family is in Oklahoma and myself, 2 sons, her daughter and family in Colorado. So, what do we do? Oklahoma means we would have to drive 450 miles to see her. Colorado means they would have the same distance. We opted for cremation and brought her home. Any family member who would like to have some of her ashes in a special urn or whatever can have her with them where ever they are. It may seem gross to some but my wife and my sons Mother "is sitting on the coffee table." There is no Biblical position whatever. When the resurrection occurs God will put them in their new body no matter what the condition. The body is just a store house while here on earth. Hope this helps, God bless, InGodITrust |

96 | Israelites first going to Heaven | Psalm | InGodITrust | 189109
Lupuschick, Good afternoon, Here's what I found on the web; Question: I was recently asked the question about the promise of Heaven. They asked is there any place in the Old Testament that mentions the promise of Heaven? Did the patriarchs even consider such a hope? The only thing that I thought of was Jobs statement in Job 14:14 - "If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come." (KJV) If you or any one else can help me with this question I would be grateful. Response: There is not a lot in the Old Testament about heaven except to say that it is the abode of God. When someone died in the Old Testament he went to Sheol, the heart of the earth. When Samuel appeared to Saul, we see him coming up out of the earth (1 Sam. 28:12-15). Even when Jesus died he went to the heart of the earth (Matt. 12:40: Acts 2:27; Rom. 10:7; Eph. 4:9; 1 Peter 3:18-19). It seems that Sheol (aka the Underworld, Abyss, Deep, Hades) was compartmentalized into a place of torment and a place of comfort according to our Lord's story of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). My belief is that a believer could not go directly into the presence of God until Jesus actually paid for the sins of the world in time. However, now when a believer dies he goes directly to be with the Lord (Acts 7:59; 2 Cor. 5:8; Phi. 1:20-23). There are a few allusions and several clear references to a resurrection in the Old Testament (Job 14:7-15; 19:26; Psa. 16:9-11; 49:14-15; 73:23-26 Isa. 25:8; 53:12 and especially Isa. 26:19; Dan. 12:2, 13; Hos. 13:14), but the Old Testament does not say much about what was expected afterwards. However we do read in the New Testament that Abraham "looked for a city . . . . whose builder and maker is God" (Heb. 11:10). I understand this to refer to the New Jerusalem (Rev. 3:12; 21:2 also John 14:1-3), which is the ultimate dwelling place of the child of God, or what we would call "heaven." http://www.apostolic.net/biblicalstudies/otheaven.htm Hope this helps, InGodITrust |

97 | Comforting verse for non-believers | Psalm | InGodITrust | 189112
Azure, So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I truly understand your heart felt desire to comfort the family. At the moment, if the entire family are not Christians,"what can you say?" I lost my wife May 6th and most of her (Teena) family think they know God but do not. All I could do was tell them "why" I KNOW Teena is in heaven with God and lovingly say, "I know she wants you there as anyone can who has Jesus Christ in their heart." Frankly, I don't know what you could say. Surely you don't want to tell them to get saved as this would imply that your friend was not. Perhaps one of our forum regulars who have been in the position to deal with this will respond. I have been in the ministry but have never had to "find an answer" for your delema. God's speed, InGodITrust |

For Thou dost make him most blessed forever; Thou dost make him joyful with gladness in Thy presence. Psalm 21:6 Hope this gets you started. Do you have a reference Bible?
