64 | The Bible is referring to another book? | 1 Kin 14:19 | Michael Draves | 189813
We have Chronicles but it is not the book mentioned because it is not just about the Kings of Israel. The book is not in the Bible and no longer available. Neither are The Wars of the LORD, Jasher, Samuel on the Kingdom, Chronicles of David, Acts of Solomon, Solomon's Natural History, Samuel the Seer, Nathan the Seer, Shemaiah the Seer, Gad the Seer, Ahijah the Shilonite, Visions of Iddo, Jehu the son of Hanani nor Sayings of the Seers.

66 | What is the story of cornelius? | Acts 10:1 | Michael Draves | 167374
The story of Cornelius can be found in Acts 10. The following quotes regarding the Churches of Christ come from Handbook of Denominations in the United States 10th Edition pages 99-101. The churches are related to the restoration movement - the work and thinking of James O' Kelly in Virginia, Abner jones and Elias Smith in New England, Barton Stone in Kentucky, and Thomas and Alexandar Campbell in West Virginia ... . Worship was simple, and they opposed the addition of instrumental music on the grounds that the New Testament did not authorize it and the early church did not use it. Membership is contingent upon an individual's faith in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, repentance, confession of faith, and baptism by immersion for the remission of sins. Churches of Christ maintain that the final judgment of all religous groups is reserved unto the Lord. |

67 | Numerology of the book of Revelation. | Rev 1:12 | Michael Draves | 167249
I really don't think numerology is a good subject for a new Christian since a lot of time can be wasted reading symbolic meanings into texts that were never intended. As long as apocalyptic literature gives you hope rather than fear you are doing well. The gospels and the epistles might be a better place to be learning how to be a disciple. If you insist on studying numerology now here are two reputable starting points: bible.crosswalk.com/Dictionaries/BakersEvangelicalDictionary/bed.cgi?number(equal sign goes here)T516 www.studylight.org/dic/hbd/view.cgi?number(equal sign goes here)T4649 Substitute a equal sign where it says "(equal sign goes here)". |

68 | Explain a lying tongue vs. false witness | Prov 6:19 | Michael Draves | 167045
Lying is a broader category that contains false witness as a subset. Telling any falsehood is lying. False witness would definitely include lying when testifying in a courtroom and it might include false prophecy as in Ezekiel 13. The Ten Commandments refer to bearing false witness and not the broader category of lying.

71 | Ecclesiates in the bible who was she/he? | Eccl 1:1 | Michael Draves | 165371
The word 'Qohelet' looks like it has a female ending. However a female would not have written Eccl 7:26 so the ending is probably irregular: Eccl 7:26 And I discovered more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, whose hands are chains. One who is pleasing to God will escape from her, but the sinner will be captured by her. The title line, Eccl 1:1, and the Epilogue, Eccl 12:9-14, are implied to be written by someone other than the main author. The phrase 'says Qohelet' in Eccl 1:2, 7:27, and 12:8 would also be likely interjections by someone else. This only leaves the title 'Qohelet' to occur in Eccl 1:12. It does sound like Eccl 1:12 to Eccl 2:9 refer to Solomon. However in Eccl 1:16 there is a problem. Eccl 1:16 I said to myself, "Behold, I have magnified and increased wisdom more than all who were over Jerusalem before me; and my mind has observed a wealth of wisdom and knowledge." Would Solomon say this if David was the only Hebrew to reign in Jerusalem before him? There were others who reigned there before him but they were all Gentiles. Keep an open mind about authorship. Listen for clues about the type of person who wrote it. For example Eccl 1:8 sounds like it might have been written by a scribe. (Substitute 'words' for 'things' since they are the same word in Hebrew.) Eccl 1:8 All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing. However just because it sounds like a scribe it can't rule out a king or any other Hebrew for certain because they were all to make their own copy of the Torah. |

72 | How do people get marriage out of this | Prov 5:15 | Michael Draves | 165365
Context. It is a part of a unit that goes at least through 5:20. Look at 5:18. Prov 5:15 Drink water from your own cistern And fresh water from your own well. Prov 5:16 Should your springs be dispersed abroad, Streams of water in the streets? Prov 5:17 Let them be yours alone And not for strangers with you. Prov 5:18 Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice in the wife of your youth. Prov 5:19 As a loving hind and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; Be exhilarated always with her love. Prov 5:20 For why should you, my son, be exhilarated with an adulteress And embrace the bosom of a foreigner? |

74 | verse regarding withholding compliments | Rom 13:7 | Michael Draves | 164508
Maybe you are thinking of giving honor to whom honor is due. You are not to withold payment to a neighbor or hold onto a garment a poor person may sleep in as a pledge. Rom 13:7 Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor. Prov 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it. Prov 3:28 Do not say to your neighbor, "Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it," When you have it with you. You will find giving compliments may be considered negatively if you look for verses with words like 'smooth', 'flatter' or 'tickle'. |

76 | verses are related to laws of motion | Ecclesiastes | Michael Draves | 163655
I don't think you will find what your looking for but these are the closest I could think of: Eccl 1:6 Blowing toward the south, Then turning toward the north, The wind continues swirling along; And on its circular courses the wind returns. Eccl 4:12 And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart. Eccl 11:3 If the clouds are full, they pour out rain upon the earth; and whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it lies. |

78 | Fasting | Matt 6:17 | Michael Draves | 160802
Matt 6:16 "Whenever you fast, do not put on a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they neglect their appearance so that they will be noticed by men when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. Matt 6:17 "But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face Matt 6:18 so that your fasting will not be noticed by men, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. Is 58:6 "Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free And break every yoke? Is 58:7 "Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh? |

79 | was kiss customary greeting v handshake | Gal 2:9 | Michael Draves | 160645
A kiss appears to be a common greeting rather than a handshake but maybe someone else can explain what the "right hand of fellowship" spoke of in Galatians 2:9 was. Luke 7:45 "You gave Me no kiss; but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet. Acts 20:37 And they began to weep aloud and embraced Paul, and repeatedly kissed him, Rom 16:16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you. Cor 16:20 All the brethren greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. Cor 13:12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. Thess 5:26 Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss. Pet 5:14 Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ. Gal 2:9 and recognizing the grace that had been given to me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, so that we might go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. |

80 | In OT, where did they go when they died? | Eccl 9:1 | Michael Draves | 160558
Eccl 9:2 It is the same for all. There is one fate for the righteous and for the wicked; for the good, for the clean and for the unclean; for the man who offers a sacrifice and for the one who does not sacrifice. As the good man is, so is the sinner; as the swearer is, so is the one who is afraid to swear. Eccl 9:3 This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one fate for all men. Furthermore, the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil and insanity is in their hearts throughout their lives. Afterwards they go to the dead. Eccl 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol where you are going. Eccl 3:11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. |
