Like kalos, I do not see in the context (the entire chapter) anything about speaking in tongues. Just look at the next verse "With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men" ... is that about tongues? I know of someone who cursed Jesus when they were "speaking in tongues" ... I got in their face and since they din't acknowledge their wrong I pubically announced what they did. Searcher |

Susan, I agree, in part, with your post 148122 "Tongues for Spiritual edification (1 Cor 14:4)" ... I would say tongues for our own SELFISH spiritual edification. The purpose of any of the gifts is to edify the church (1 Cor 12-14). |
