Scripture ... Act 2:38, 10:48; Rom 6:3 ... jcsav, In post 142735, you said, "If you asked anyone that have been baptized in Jesus name whether they have received the Holy Ghost are not. Those who have will say so. Those who have not is usually trueful to say they have not." Again, you disagree with God ... in this very verse. I suggest you read it and the context, as well as the other verses I cited. What level have you studied Scripture by yourself? I ask because some of the things you say are teachings of others and NOT Biblical. Searcher |

149 | How can you say Simon wasn't saved? | Acts 8:13 | Searcher56 | 142755
jcsav, In post 142745 you said "Simeon believed and was Baptized. Did that make him saved. No. Maybe he got it together later on." I presume you mean Simon, not Simeon (Luk 2:25-34; Act 13:1, 15:14). Some doubt his salvation was not real based on verses 18-24. But, I think he was in the quandry Paul mentions in Romans 7:14-25 or may not of understood completely what was going on. He had certain powers before (vs 10) and they may have been gone and wanted something back. Verse 24 shows me he got it together right away. Searcher |

156 | jcsav, What does does Acts 2:41 mean? | 1 Cor 13:8 | Searcher56 | 142589
If the 3000 didn't receieve the Holy Spirit, what does Acts 2:41 mean "So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls." You said "I never said that speaking in other tongues was a KNOWN language of the listeners or not." ... but I have proven the Bible says speaking in tongues is always a known language to a listener. The word "unknown" is not in the original - KJV added the word. Poto and Cabengo did speak in a LANGUAGE only they knew. Linguists said they did speak in a language ... but have declared what Pentecostals speak IS NOT a language. Linguists also know of other accounts where children have developed their own language. |

157 | jcsav, what does it mean to obey Ac 2:38 | 1 Cor 13:8 | Searcher56 | 142587
I believe you do not understand what it means to obey Acts 2:38. You bring up tongues and it is not there. It is there BEFORE Peter spoke Acts 2:38, not AFTER, so how is tongues evidence of receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit as the result of "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins"?

159 | Speak from the midst of the fire to you? | Acts 9:4 | Searcher56 | 142172
NC, You even took Deuteronomy 5:24 out of context ... Verse 25 says "You said, 'Behold, the LORD our God has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His voice FROM THE MIDST OF THE FIRE; we have seen today that God speaks with man, yet he lives." Emphasis added. Therefore by what you linked together, He must ALWAYS speak FROM THE MIDST OF THE FIRE. How did He speak to Abraham in Genesis 18? I could go on, but I do not need to - I have proven your eiegesis to be incorrect. S |
