61 | Cyclist, Did your church obey 1 Cor14:27 | Bible general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 47095
Cyclist, greetings ... I asked the questions to see what you believe and understand what you did. I like to know all sides of an issue. let me clarify ... 2. I asked, "are you aware Satan has copied estatic speech?" because just because there is estatic speech in a church mena it is from God. 3. I asked, "when you did your interpetation, was it after one and only one person spoke ... or did a group speak, then you?" is because I wanted to know if the church you were at was following 1 Cor 14, in particular, verse 27. 4. Then question 4 ... People have gone in a quote John 3:16, in Greek ... then someone "interpeted" what was said. When the interpeter was done, the speaker of Greek stood up and said the interpetation was wrong. Then a regular attender, a Greek professor, confirmed the interpetion was wrong and in fact was John 3:16. Again, just because there is an interpetation, means it is done correctly. I am not saying that you do not have the gift of interpetation, but Satan has crept in the church and has people teaching incorrectly ... and it is not this issue of tongues and interpetation. I enjoy taking time just reading and searching the Scripture, without any aids. God shows me new things. Then I get to challenge the "experts" and ask them to find eror I what I believe. Hope this helps, Searcher |

62 | Debbie What language did the they speak? | Bible general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 47216
Debbie, 1 Cor 13:1 says "tongues of men and of angels" not "tongues of men OR angels". What language did the angels speak ... that people heard? I understand your view, but do not understand why you would wnat to pray in another tongue, since your mind would be unfruitful (1 Cor 14:14) ... This thought just in. Since Paul says "if", could it be he didn't pray in a tongue? This fits with the rest of the chapter; showing a need for an interpeter whenever a tongue is spoken. |

CDBJ. Are the 144,000 Jewish Christians?
65 | Is the first resurrection, the rapture? | Bible general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 74947
CDBJ, I have some questions. When will the first resurrection take place (Rev 20:5-6)? Do you see the rapture and the resurrections as different events? ... If so, will people be saved during the tribulation, or will those who reign with Christ (Rev 20:4) be unsaved? Also, will people be saved during the 1,000 year reign of Christ? .... If, not why will Satan have to decieve the nations (Rev 20:4) ... since they are not Christians? I contend that those that reign with Christ are those who had "not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand" ... the second resurrection is for the other believers. The 144,000 who were sealed (Rev 7:4-8) came out of the great tribulation (vs 14). There is a play on words, since this is after the sixth seal (Rev 6). Searcher |

68 | greatfullydead, Do we immmerse B4 eating | Bible general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 77067
Scripture ... Mar 7:4, Luk 11:38, Heb 9:10 Did you look up all the references of baptizo? Read these three ... Mark 7:4 "And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables." Are tables dipped or immersed to clean them? Luke 11:38 "And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner." Are we dipped or immersed before we eat? Hebrews 9:10 "Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation." The refers back to the Old Testament washings were signs pointing to the washing away of our sins by Christ's atonement. Searcher |

69 | disciplerami, support forgiveness last. | Bible general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 77069
You said ... "What follows repentance and baptism? Forgiveness of sins." Acts 2:38 doesn't support this, based on the Greek tenses. So where is your support? |

70 | greatfullydead, then what word is it? | Bible general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 77076
In order to fully understand a Greek word, we must look at all instances. In this case, if we exclude the verses I cited, we could be led astray. While you don't have a Greek keyboard, you could cite Strong's number. If you think they are different, determine the difference, similarities and roots ... as well as, how each word is translated into English. There has been at least one translator thrown out of a country (Indonesia), when he refused to translate baptizo into their word for washing. |

71 | disciplerami, Are tables immersed? | Bible general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 77097
Are tables dipped or immersed to clean them? Are we dipped or immersed before we eat? How do you handle Hebrews 9:10? You and many others base your ideas on tradition ... not the truth? It takes careful study to know the truth. You may call it "obscure" ... but, it does disprove tradition. |

72 | Is "mikvah" in the Law or tradition? | Bible general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 77216
Word study ... mikvah (Strong's 04348) ... Mikvah means "burnt spot, burn scar" and is found in Leviticus 13:24, 25, 28. I did some research. I always check out what people say, to see if it is true. Leviticus 11:36 is quoted. However, the word is miqveh. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering (miqveh) together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good (Gen 1:10). In Exodus 7:19 it is the pools of water, that were turned to blood. It is linen yarn (1Ki 10:28) I didn't find where God had a person get in water. Can you cite in the OT, where God did so? I believe it was oral tradition, not the Law. |

73 | Do I need facts, or just faith? | Bible general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 81857
Context ... 1 Peter 3:13-18 (vs 15) ... The context of 1 Peter 3:15 is about slander and doing good and the reason. The answer I give is not based on facts ... for many will discount it. Plus, Hebrews 11:1 is a problem, if I need facts to have faith. Searcher |

76 | Casiv, Do you understand questions asked | NT general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 21256
Questions still unanswered ... that I and others have asked. Casiv, I agree with Ed B. You need to answer the questions we ask you and not give Scripture that is not related to the question. Or at least I do not see it and since I do not ... you must show the connection is your own words. Do you understand? I only want a "yes" or "no". Searcher |

Elder, I have two questions. Where does the Bible say "that love fulfills the Law"? I know, do you? You said "you can truly obtain love is by knowing God and his word" ... but doesn't Romans 5:8 say He loved us while we were still sinners, even before I knew or even cared about Him, much less knowing Him? 80 | Darcy, where does Rev 20 fit your list? | NT general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 95006
Scripture ... Revelation 20:4-6 ... 20:4 Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 20:5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. 20:6 Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years. DarcyA greetings ... I'd still like to know you take on my questions. If you don't know, just say so. If it makes you rethink what you believe, say so. Your list does not include this passage. So which is it ... the second coming or the rapture? I believe it is the latter (first resurrection) ... and it happens after the tribulation, based on the placement in the book and the context.
