3101 | torment in hell annihilation in the lake | Rev 19:20 | EdB | 241179
You used a interesting term "is it possible that the beast and the false prophet are kept alive in a devouring fire in the lake of fire" No where in scripture is the Lake of Fire described as a devouring fire. In fact just the opposite, punishment like life in Christ is always described as eternal. Also Satan does not possess the power of life and death Christ does. So no it is not possible Satan kept the beast and false prophet alive. |

3102 | Tabernacles | Rev 20:2 | EdB | 61682
Elder As far as I know there is no Millennium tabernacle. However Revelations does tells us of a time when Jesus will rule and reign on this earth for a 1000 years. Rev 20:2 tells about this thousand year reign and it is commonly called the Millennium or the Millennial Reign of Christ. EdB |

3103 | Logic in timing in steps. | Rev 20:4 | EdB | 118198
Can anyone see a fault in this line of thinking so far ? Yes! All of those that feel the church has to be raptured before the beast can be revealed. All of those that feel the tribulation has taken place and we are living in a time after it. All of those that feel church will be raptured before the tribulation. Your case while based on what you consider logical evidence can be refuted by others using evidence which is also logical. In fact there are probably an equal number of theologians that hold to pre trib, mid trib with a smaller percentage holding to post trib and an even smaller but vocal group that holds to the belief Nero, Dominion, or one of the other Caesars was the beast referred to in John's account of the Revelation. 3104 | "beheading" in modern times? | Rev 20:4 | EdB | 124862
Pastor Glenn You need to subscribe to "The Voice of the Martyrs" a publication that details the suffering Christians endure throughout the world (they have a website). There have been more Christians martyred in the last 10 years than in all of history, and the number keeps increasing. Incidentally beheading is the prescribed form of capital punishment in Islam and is commonly used today, our press simply neglects to tells us. The press also fails to tell of young Arab boys taken out and nailed through their feet and knees to wooden frames and left to die simply because they went to a Christian meeting. Or of the young women, mothers and daughters sold into sexual slavery because they are Christians. Or the thousands hacked to death in refugee camps by Islamic rebels. These weren’t clean quick deaths but long agonizing and brutal deaths caused by wounds inflicted by machetes, shovels, hoes, and even barred wire. It fails to tell of the atrocities of mothers having their breasts hacked off so they can never feed another infidel. Of the men having their genitalia ripped from their bodies so they can never breed another infidel. We live in America where the health wealth gospel is easily preached and accepted while around us, brothers and sisters in Christ are being slaughtered, mutilated, enslaved and abused. You know what these dear people are praying as they are dying? That persecution will come to the US so the “Christians” will get saved and they too will hear “Well done good and faithful servant.” EdB |

3105 | order of events | Rev 20:4 | EdB | 235164
The actual sequence of events and even their occurance is matter of what Eschatological discipline you hold to. There is an excellent book Revelation 4 Views A Parallel Commentary edited by Steve Gregg and published by Nelson Publishing that does an very good job at fairly presenting at least the four most common views of Eschatology (study of End Times) It would serve you well to get and study this book. Being from a dispensational/futuristic believing denomination I could give you our view but I'm sure someone from a Preterist, Historicist or Spiritual point of view would give another. So to fairly represent all views you really need to get this book and understand each's position then using your Bible decide for yourself what your Eschatology is going to be. |

3107 | God died for our sins why are we judged | Rev 20:11 | EdB | 146999
If your in relationship (saved) with Christ you will not be judged for your sins. If you look at Rev 20 beginning in verse 11 you will see everyone that appears for judgement does so because they rejected Jesus Christ the died in their sins. Now why do we have to keep repenting of our sins. Our sins strain our relationship with Christ. Just as our children's misbehavior strains ours. However when our children ask for forgiveness we are quick to forgive and embrace them. So to is the relationship between our Heavenly Father and us. When we admit our faults, asking for forgiveness He is quick to embrace us. Our failure to admit our sins and repent speaks more of our lack of character than of anything else. God in an effort to build character will use such times to chasten us. I have found it far more profitable not to sin to begin with, but if I do to repent and ask forgiveness immediately rather than wait for God to use the situation to build character. EdB |

3108 | Does God say that He'll end Hell? | Rev 20:14 | EdB | 102026
GZwee We have the incorrect impression that Hades which is translated Hell is the place of punishment. It is not. The Lake of Fire is the place of punishment. Yes Hades (Hell) and death will take their place in that lake of fire, along with Satan and all who's name is not written in the Lamb's book of life Read Revelation chapters 20-22 for the full picture EdB |

3109 | books in chapter 20:15 | Rev 20:15 | EdB | 118622
If you speaking about the books in rev 20:14,15 there are two. One the Lamb's Book of Life where every believers name is recorded and the other we assume to be the works both rigtheous and unrighteous of those that did not trust in Jesus for salvation. As that book is opened every unbeliever will see revealed before him his unrigtheousness and understand his judgment is just. Make sure you name is written in the Lamb's book of Life and you wouldn't have to be concerned about the other book EdB |

3110 | reassurance of lambs book of life | Rev 20:15 | EdB | 118701
karen757 It is real simple John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. This is a promise if we believe we will be saved (have our name written in the Lambs book of Life). Understand the word believe here carries more than just head knowledge that Jesus once lived on this earth. It also speaks of a faithful trusting heart in that we depend on Jesus Christ and nothing else for our salvation. Trust and beleive that is all you need, let the Holy spirit lead you in all the ways you should go. EdB |

3111 | psalms... judgement chapter 1 verse 5 | Rev 20:15 | EdB | 225643
The wicked that didn't accept Jesus aren't judged, there really isn't anything to judge. If their name isn't written in the Book of Life they are just sentenced to lake of fire. Notice the wording in this verse they aren't judged they are sentenced on one condition is their name in the Book of Life or not
3112 | Help explaining what happens after you d | Rev 20:15 | EdB | 236903
Probably the most direct answer but the harshest is starting in Rev 20:11-15. The eternal life and eternal death is woven all through scripture and you really need to read it all. The passage starting with John 3:16-21 is the most encouraging and simplest assurance of salvation through Christ Jesus. That all said may I encourage you to contact your pastor. This forum is not equipped to minister to you or your father in a way you deserve. Have a Pastor come in sit down and spend some time with you and your father explaning Christian Salvation. |

3113 | Does hell really exist and how can I be | Rev 20:15 | EdB | 240432
I think the problem is two fold. First there is common and incorrect mixing of terms Hades and Hell with the final destination of the unsaved. Hades/Hell is the holding place of the dead. Held captive by death. In Luke 16:9-31 we see this described. Also we have to understand that the righteous side Abraham's bosom or Paradise is now empty as Christ Jesus lead those held in captivity, captive to heaven. Eph 4:8 The final place of the unrighteous is the Lake of Fire not Hell. The second problem is people only want to believe what they want to believe. Revelation 20:15 is explicit and clear that the punishment for unbelief is the Lake of Fire. There isn't any exceptions nor any uncertainty. |

3114 | What is the "new Earth" for? | Rev 21:1 | EdB | 241095
The New Heaven and New Earth is talking of creation. Heaven where God resides is not part of that. The Heaven spoken of here is the sky and space around this earth. There will be no space junk floating around.:-) |

This passage says there is no sorrow in heaven. I expect there will be expectation, as we await the arrival of loved ones. However since there isn't a sense of time it won't be a long wait. |

3118 | Are Christain who murder exluded? | Rev 21:8 | EdB | 142934
Searcher56 What is the point of this? If your a once saved always saved the answer is no. If you not a once saved always saved the answer is yes. There is also the group that says a truly saved person can not commit premeditated murder. Perhaps murder in a moment of passion but not something they have considered the consequences of. The only one that know the answer for sure is God and He didn’t say. EdB |

Mommapbs Is this a trick question? :-) The verse you quoted gave the answer. I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. When you have God in your midst you do not need a temple, and certainly not one made with man's hands. EdB |
