223 | Is Christianity becoming Christless in A | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 210743
Shalom Brad, How are you doing tonight? It's sad, but I agree. First the church (all the different denominations, not THE Church, Spiritual Israel) took away His ancestry, now they're quite happy to just remove Him altogether, and just live by the precepts. But the good news is that the Lord, even now, is building up Zion. There will be a believing Israel for Him to return to!! Cheri |

Dear DL, Sounds like you're straddling the fence? Which is your choice? God is irrelevant or you are one of His perfect works? You can't have it both ways (who would want it that way?). I pray you choose the latter Shalom Cheri |

Shalom y'all Many apologies for my duplicates. I'm not hitting the back button at all and I'm still getting dupes. Also, since about 2-3 days before they took the forum down last Sun a week ago, I have not received any email notifications. Am I the only one? Or is this a forum problem? Cheri |

Shalom sirhighsmith, There is another bible out there that I've not seen talked about on this forum so far. If you particularily like the feel of the KJV language but have a bit of trouble with it (like me, lol) there is a bible called KJVER King James Version Easy Reading. It basically only changes the thees ,thous, seests, knoweths, etc and the really archaic words. ALL the words attributed to God and/or Jesus are in red from Gen. thru Rev. (and to me, that's a big help, especially in the prophets!!). Just go to Christian Discount Bookstore and type in The Sword or Whitaker House Publishers and you'll find it, it costs about 30 dollars. Also, the New King James is good, and so is the NASB. Cheri |

Shalom FytRobert, That is a pretty big order since there are at least 4 different views. First of all though, God is not limited to a check-off list. He can come back any time He so chooses. :o) YEA!!!!!! One big event to me is Ezek. 37 where the houses of Ephraim and Judah become one house again. This began in March 2005 when the little groups of Israelites who had been claiming to be members of this or that "lost" tribe of the house of Israel (Ephraim) were verified by the powers that be in the land of Israel and were allowed to come home. (I have no idea what Israel's criteria is, but I would love to know it if anyone out there does.) Sadly, there are still some groups out there that do indeed fit the bill but they have also accepted their Messiah and Israel won't let them in the land. We need to pray for these people. Pre-tribs believe that He can come any time now, before the first 3 1/2 yrs of the tribulation, which is a good peaceful time. Mid -tribs believe that He will come about midway thru the tribulation, in which case the antigod dude will show himself, the temple in Jerusalem will be built (among other things to happen). Post-tribs believe that He won't come till the end of the 7-yr tribulation. Preterists believes He came back in 70CE and we are now in the midst of the "1000-yr millenial" (eh hem) reign. Which view are you interested in? Narrow it down and it will be easier to give you some sort of answer. Cheri |

235 | Why Sarah and her name consedered great | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 211582
Hello Nadege, Welcome to the Forum!! I'm most happy to realize that Sarah was not the "perfect" model of a perfect human being, not even a perfect woman - that leaves MUCH hope for me and all others who are not yet perfected!! As to why God falls so in love with particular people, we don't know, we just know that He does - Abraham, Moses, David, etc. Again, that leaves great hope for all the rest of us imperfect folk. I would have been very proud (the good kind :o) ) to carry on her name!! Cheri P.S. By the way, Abraham had the very wife that God had had in mind for him from the very beginning. |

238 | What was Saul’s greatest contribution? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 211814
Shalom Malisa, Are you asking about King Saul or Saul/Paul of Tarsus in the New Testament? If Saul of the New Testament, then his contribution is about 1/3 of the NT which was written by him, and the majority of the early churches were started and or put on the right track by him. If you're asking about King Saul, sorry, my mind has gone blank :o) Maybe someone else can help or I'll get back to you on that. Cheri |

239 | Prayer Request from My Family | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 212022
Shalom y'all, Please leave this up for a little while. My dear friend, Stanley, a diabetic for the last 37 years is really struggling with it now. Kidneys failing, 3 heart attacks this year, neuropathy, etc, but mostly it's a problem with his body absorbing (or not absorbing, I can't remember) his insulin from his pump 3 days each week. Everytime he changes sides for his pump every 3 days, if it goes to his left side, we pretty much know he's going to have problems because either his tissues are absorbing the insulin and the medicine is not able to do what it's supposed to do, or else it isn't absorbing like it's supposed to (I'm sorry, right now I can't think straight which way it is). But, anyway there you have it, for about 3 days each week he's pretty much going without much insulin at all (he's type 1 - dead pancreas). I sent him, about an hour ago by ambulance to the ER with blood sugars almost at 500. I'm waiting for the doctor to call me now. (Stanley doesn't like me to go there with him, so I stay by the phone.) Please pray that somehow the doctors can figure out about the absorbtion problem with his insulin. Thank you very much for keeping him in your prayers, he's a dear brother. Cheri |

240 | what scriptures discribes a great Dad ? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 212021
Shalom mws777 "Happy is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon the earth, the generation of the upright shall be blessed . Wealth and riches shall be in his house, and his righteousness shall endure forever. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; he is gracious, and full of compassion, and just. A man is good who lends with grace, he conducts his affairs justly. Surely he shall never be moved; the righteous will be eternally remembered. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid when he gazes upon his enemies. He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever, his horn shall be exalted with honor. Psa. 112:1-9 This is a good one :o) Cheri |
