142 | Anything asked will be given | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 202337
Good morning Ian, Welcome to the forum. The key is praying in God's will. There are some things we pray about that we can know for sure that we are praying within God's will, i.e., the salvation of someone (Matthew 28:19-20 to state just one). In Matthew 6:10 Messiah teaches us to pray "...Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven..." Revelation 21:4 tells us that in the world to come tears will be wiped away, there will no longer be any death, nor any mourning, or crying, or pain - so these things must be His will. James 5:14-15 tells us to pray for the sick and the Lord will hear and heal - this must be His will. Our problem is that if we don't SEE the results of our prayers immediately, we think God is not answering us. We forget that God answers in His time, and His time is not our time. Now, when it comes to things like should one change careers, move to a new state, start a new business, etc....these things must be in line with God's word and the intent must line up with God's word. And the person still must remember that if and when God answers in the positive, it will still be in His time (and sometimes He may say NO, and we just refuse to hear it) So you see? When you are praying in God's will you will get an answer (just not always the one desired, and not always in our time-frame). Sorry I couldn't help more, but others much more knowledgeable, I'm sure will be happy to answer you more fully. :-) Shalom Cheri |

Shalom Ian, I'm very sorry that you're not happy with the responses you've received. But be it known that your prayer for right answers HAS been answered. You just don't like what the answer is. Most of the time, the "answer" God gives is not so easily seen, it must be heard, and it's very often "No." We don't like to hear No, so we don't and keep on praying, while complaining that God isn't answering us. Even when we are praying in God's will, sometimes it's No. Don't you know that there were folks praying for Elisha to get well? But he didn't, he died of his sickness (2 Kings 13:14). But God did answer the prayers - he's no longer sick!! Cheri |

Ian, Let me also point you to Abram and Sarai's prayer for a child. God told him personally that he would have an heir and be the father of many nations. Correct me, anyone, if I'm wrong, but it took 25 years for that prayer, that promise to be fulfilled. It doesn't always happen in our desired time-frame, but God is faithful to His word, in His time! 145 | The literal Bible | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 202413
Dear Terry, The passages you referenced for death, are for believers in the Savior, God's Messiah, passages that describe cessation of bodily functioning, not death. Death, the Second Death, is total, eternal separation from God. That which was made of dust and returns to dust is nothing more than a vessel that houses the spirit and soul of man. When it stops working (dies) the spirit lives on, either with God or without God. Are you a born-again, Spirit-filled believer? Is Christ your Lord and Savior? Cheri |

146 | Why do you respond? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 202420
Terry, What makes you think anyone of us are negative, criticizing or ridiculing you? If you think I have treated you that way, I apologize and ask your forgiveness for that was certainly not my intention! As for the others, I've known them almost on a daily basis for over a year, and they are only loving, gracious brethren in the Lord (and I might add, extremely knowledgeable). We are only trying to figure out what you are wanting to discuss. Mass conciousness, spiritual networking.... these are not bible study topics. Since you think they are, please explain it to us, bring us up to speed :-) Cheri |

147 | Satan murdered who at beginning of time | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 202602
Shalom Shenny, Welcome to the Forum! Genesis chapter 3 will tell you about how satan committed the first murder (by using deception). Through his deception, Eve took of the forbidden tree (which God said would cause her to die) and gave it to her husband, and he, too, ate; thus, death (spiritual and physical death) for all of us. Enjoy your study! Cheri |

150 | Ezekiel's Temple | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 203089
Shalom y'all, I hope you are all having a glorious, wonderful, fun day (while remembering all those who have lost their lives, and those yet serving to make it all possible). I know we let scripture interpret scripture, but here I would just like people's understanding. Ezekiel Temple chapters, chapters 40-47, is this a literal temple, is it in heaven, it is in the millenium, is it in the new earth, it is just allegory, is it a metaphor? Thanks in advance for sharing. :-) Cheri |

Shalom y'all, I missed a chapter, 48 also. And 1 possibility I neglected to ask is - is it a temple in the tribulation period? Once again, thank you for sharing your thoughts and understanding. Cheri |

152 | Ezekiel's Temple updated | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 203105
Hey Doc, Yes, we probably did, and since then I have heard many different views. But I ran across 2 verses last night that I swear weren't there the last time I read Ezekiel :-). (Of course, they just didn't register in my brain the last time I read them.) 47:22-23. Those just jumped out at me last night and I haven't been able to forget them. There are a lot of new "regulars" now so I was hoping to get a few views, maybe not different, just a few different people. And just because something has been discussed before should not exclude it from being discussed afresh. :-) I know those chapters are not describing the old Temple, but those chapters are there for a reason, and with those 2 verses now, I'm just trying to pull it together, hopefully with help. 153 | Before, during, or after? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 203112
Good morning Brad, I guess now the question for me is am I understanding those 2 verses correctly. I see us, Believers, as the aliens being grafted into Israel. The original question was: are those chapters, Ezek. 40-48 about an allegorical, or metaphorical temple, is it the heavenly temple, or the tribulation, or millennial, or maybe the newly renovated earthly temple? I apologize for being redundant, but I hoped that maybe some of you folks had learned or heard some new thoughts on the subject over the past year that you'd be willing to share :-). Shalom Cheri |

Thanks Doc, Brad, John, and all I understand that these chapters, along with the book of Revelation, that there really isn't a 100percent rignt or wrong (within reasonableness) answer because it's veiled. But you did help me, whether you realize it or not - so once again, thanks guys. Of course, I do still have questions... next year :-) shalom cheri |

shabbat shalom lander I'm prone to agree and take those chapters at face value. But, like most believers, I have a bit of a problem with the sacrificial system spoken of - but it seems to include ALL. And it doesn't appear, to me anyway, that this temple is of any time other than the millenium or new heaven and new earth periods which will include only believers, Jews and adoptees (gentiles). I had just wanted to get some other views, most of the folks here are much more mature bible-wise than me :-). Aren't we glad our understanding of things like this have nothing to do with our eternal salvation? Though, I'd still like to get a handle on it. By the way, welcome to the forum. Hope you stay and study with us! Cheri |

157 | Does it Really matter? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 203420
Shalom Zanna Lynn, The Lord will accept worship on any day. BUT there is a blessing associated with keeping the Sabbath, which is the day God - not man - ordained as holy, and He has never rescinded this ordination. This blessing is associated with the Sabbath only, not Sunday, or Wednesday, etc. Read Isaiah 58:13-14. Cheri |

158 | Does it Really matter? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 203428
Brad, The Sabbath was created on the 7th day! On the 7th day, God created the Sabbath and sanctified it, made it holy - Gen. 2:3. There was no Israel at that time, but God still called it holy. Then, long after God created Sabbath and called it holy, Israel came into being. The Sabbath came first. I never said it's wrong to worship God on Sunday. I said the Bible says it's right to observe the Sabbath. There is nowhere in the Gospels where Messiah rescinded the Sabbath either. My understanding is that God is not a man that He'll change His mind willy-nilly, this way and that. What He has called holy is indeed holy and remains such. What is man that he should take it upon himself to change God's decrees? We gentiles, as believers, have been grafted in to the commonwealth of Israel, not the other way around. It is only one tree. We all get nourishment from the same root. If God grafted us into His olive tree, why should I attempt to distance myself from the blessings He gave to that "tree" that I'm now a part of? Rom. 11:15-31. If you adopted a child into your family, would that child not also be adopted into the blessings you've given to your natural born children? Or would that child be a second-class family member? Of course not! That child would be subject to every blessing and every expectation that your natural children are raised under. Same with our Heavenly Father. Also, if you adhere to the 10 Commandments, it's right there, Exod. 20:8-11. Again, never been rescinded. I answered a question with a Bible verse. The BIBLE states the blessing for the Sabbath, not me. Mat. 5:17-19. If someone is being led to follow God's direction, I tread very carefully. And I've yet to read anywhere in the Bible, old or new testaments, where God has decided to change His mind on this particular issue (and many others we're not discussing). Also "speaking the truth in love" :-) Cheri |

Hi Doc, I simply stated what the Bible states, and that I've not seen where He has changed His mind about it. What you quoted was what men decided. God's word or man's? Hmmm.... I'll take God's word over man's in a heartbeat. Cheri |

Hiya again Brad, Why would he? The Gentile believers were meeting with the Jewish believers at that time and being taught by the Jewish teachers at the local synagogues. There was no need for him to talk about what was already being taken for granted. They were meeting on Shabbat. He was writing letters to local churches about immediate concerns. As to your question about the sacrifices - They were performing sacrifices at that time - Paul completed a vow of his own as well as paying for the 4 men to complete their vows. But I think the Temple was destroyed for that purpose, to put an end to that part, for now anyway (there's still Ezek 38 to the end of the book to deal with :-) ). Let me just finish by saying that personally I have never been so blessed before I started observing the Sabbath. God accepts and honors worship anytime it's offered. The Bible says the Sabbath is holy and that's all I'm saying - that the Bible says it, and I don't know of anywhere where it un-says it :-) Cheri |
