2121 | Whats a womens place in the Church? | 1 Tim 2:12 | azurelaw | 180304
Dear 2Tim215, Thanks for your response. Yes, you are right that Gen 2:21-24 talks about man and woman become one in flesh. However, don't forget that out of Adam, Eve was made; which means Eve was in fact part of Adam. Adam was made in the image of God. Therefore, both Adam and Eve attribute to the image of God. For my part concerning degree of importance on the appearance and inner organs of a person, I just want to say that male just like the appearance of a person though getting most of the attention, but female (as the inner organs)is regarded with equal importance even though it seems to gain less notice. Hope I have explained it clear. Shalom Azure |

2123 | Whats a womens place in the Church? | 1 Tim 2:12 | azurelaw | 180290
Dear wiley, Is it necessary to have a woman writing a book (or books) in order to show God's putting equal weight on both sexes? Does it need to quantify the deeds of each sex on a balancing scale to prove God's justice? Isn't it that God's view on the two sexes as one flesh? (see Gen 2:21-24) Do you think the appearance (the visible part) of a person that usually draws much attention is more important than his internal organs (the hidden part) or vice versa? Dear Hank, I give you my big big smile :) :) Yes, maybe that's why people excuse themselves from learning the Truth. Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 2125 | what do verse 15 means | Rom 6:15 | azurelaw | 180167
Dear Anita, The below article from gotquestions.org could be helpful to you. Question: "If I am saved and all of my sins are forgiven, why not continue to sin?" Answer: The Apostle Paul answered a very similar question in Romans 6:1-2, "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?" The idea that a person could trust in Jesus Christ for salvation and then go on living just as he/she lived before - is absolutely foreign to the Bible. Believers in Christ are new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17). The Holy Spirit changes us from producing the acts of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21), to producing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). The Christian life is a changed life. What differentiates Christianity from every other world religion is this - Christianity is based on what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. Every other world religion is based on what we must do to earn God's favor and forgiveness. Every other world religion teaches that we must do certain things, and stop doing certain things - in order to earn God's love and mercy. Christianity, faith in Christ, teaches that we do certain things and stop doing certain things BECAUSE of what Christ has done for us. How could anyone, having been delivered from sin's penalty, Hell, go back to living the same life that had them on the path to Hell? How could anyone, having been cleansed from the defilement of sin, desire to go back to the same cesspool of depravity? HOW COULD ANYONE, KNOWING WHAT JESUS CHRIST DID ON OUR BEHALF, GO ON LIVING AS IF JESUS CHRIST IS NOT IMPORTANT? How could anyone, realizing how much Christ suffered for our sins, continue sinning as if Jesus' sufferings were meaningless? Romans 6:11-18 declares, "In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey — whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness." Shalom Azure |

2126 | ARE WE MARIED | 1 Cor 7:1 | azurelaw | 180166
Dear Jeff, I do respond to your post :). You say: ... our faithful walk with God is guided by what is taught, not what is missing. It echoes with my pastor's comment which once made on people who excuse them from reading the bible for the reason of that they do not understand it. He said that there must be some that you understand. Just do what you understand and that would be more than enough for keeping you busy in your walk with Jesus. Shalom Azure |

2128 | Matthew 12:43-45 | Matt 12:44 | azurelaw | 180130
Dear minister summers, Thanks for your input. I do believe that when a TRUE believer convert, the Holy Spirit is indwelt with him and there could not be a room for demon. When putting together what Jesus said on the last statement in verse 45 and earlier verses about the Pharisee's comment on Jesus and His diciples, the picture is rather clear to me that Jesus is rebuking the Pharisee's hypocritic demands and teachings on one's behaviour and following the law - a kind of self-reformation. That is why Jesus commented "evil generation" in verse 45 instead of a single person. Thanks again kalos and minister summers. Shalom Azure :) |

2129 | What scripture describes a leaders role | 1 Tim 3:1 | azurelaw | 180101
Dear houstonc, I would like to suggest the below scriptures for you. 1 Timothy Chapter 3. In fact, Paul talked a lot concerning leadership in his letter to Timothy. You may be interested to read both 1 and 2 Timothy. Jesus also made a note for those who wanted to be the greatest (leader) in Matthew Chapter 23, verse 11 to 12. Hope the above helpful to you. Dear CDBJ, (Your user name always makes me associate it with "TCBY - The Country's Best Yogurt" - yummy, yummy :) . I appologize if I offended you. I believe it bears a meaning and you wouldn't mind to tell me so that I won't have such a silly association anymore! ) Thanks for your response. Yes, that is why I wrote "so-call believer" instead of "true believer". Then what was Jesus talking about on these verses? I have had no ideas! Blessings to you on thanksgiving :) Azure |

2134 | Should a member rebuke an elder? | 1 Chr 16:22 | azurelaw | 179907
Dear Bereaniam, Just a few words to encourage you. I will pray for you. It is really heartbreaking to see your engaged (14 years!) church in such situation. I trust that you still love them, keep on loving them and praying for them. The story of Jehoiada comes to my mind. Maybe you would like to read again 2 Chronicles 22:10 to 24:15. I love the final verse "...because of the good he had done in Israel for God and his temple." Shalom Azure |

2136 | The risk of emptying oneself? | Not Specified | azurelaw | 179824
Matthew 12:43-45 Is it talking about a so-call believer who acknowledged his own sin and determined to abandon it (...the unclean spirit goes out of a man...), but failed to accept and follow the Word / the Holy Spirit, thus emptying himself (... finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order ...). On the other hand, he was possessed with those heresy, false doctrines, worldly philosopy, etc. (...other spirits more wicked than itself...), and his condition was even worse than before? I don't know if my such understanding correct. I have been stuck with this scripture for quite some time. I believe some of you will be able to guide me through. Thanks Azure |

2139 | How will I hear God's answer? | James 1:5 | azurelaw | 179730
Dear Brother Doc, Thank you. I have never had experiences of hearing a small/soft voice from God. Most of the time, He either stays silent or reveals to me CLEARLY through the Scriptures. Quite contrary that I have experienced tempting soft voice from my inner self on my own desire. I can understand that people think that God speaks in soft voice due to their projection of God as a kind and loving father (yes, He is indeed), and when we (His children) suffer, He will comfort us with tender and soft words. But is it really the way? I would render the thought that instead of His speaking to us softly to comfort us, He gave His son and His Word to us for healing, guiding and comforting. I also think of another example : Job, how he had experienced his great trauma. He was in desperate need of comfort and answer from God. Did God talk to him in soft and small voice? No. (Job 38:1, Job 40:6). What about God's calling on Samuel when he was sleeping? Could the voice be loud enough to wake him? Shalom Azure :) |

You say: ......Most often it's in a still, small voice..... Why? Dear Joanna, you are not the only one I heard of such saying. Is it really always the way God speaks to us? Why in small voice? I would be glad to see your quote of more relevant scriptures. I don't think God often chooses to speak to us in small voice but with shouts and cries instead (see Proverb 1:20 to 21). Thanks for your help. Azure |
